Andreas shared so much information about current life in Greece. The merting point can be a little hard to find for tourists who have never seen a KTEL bus

Niko was an excellent guide, with very nuanced English, and a rich knowledge of the subject matter. The tour had a relaxed and communicative tone, and was unhurried in a way which enhanced the overall quality of the tour.
I left Athens with a much deeper appreciation of the scattered art works throughout the city, and an appreciation of a particular aspect of local culture. The street art tour rounded out our Athens experience with a contemporary edge to add to the overwhelming sense of ancient history.

If you're looking for a great escape from the overcrowded tourist areas, along with an opportunity to learn about the city of Athens, the people, and the culture, this tour is for you! I was exploring the city solo and joined this tour as guided by an expert in Athens street art, Niko from Alternative Athens. Niko leads the group on a walk into the working class neighborhoods of Athens, where you'll spot many spectacular murals and smaller works of street art from some of Athens most well-known artists, including the internationally known, Ino. You'll learn the stories behind the art -- as well as the background and history of the streets, buildings, and people along the way. You may even gain a better perspective of the culture of the city of Athens. Even if you just love seeing street art, the works you'll see will be well worth your time. Athens truly has some great local artists. And the tour guide, Niko (an artist in his own right), spoke about each one with fascinating, entertaining, and educational stories attached. Great time spent learning from a truly great man.

Adding the street art tour to our recent trips in various cities has been so worthwhile. It gives you a real flavor of the heart of a city, its conflicts, its neighborhoods, its government and of course its local talent. Niko was a wonderful guide. He is knowledgeable and very good at explaining the stories behind the murals in the city. We enjoyed the pace of the tour, as he allowed us to linger at locations for photos and banter with each other at the cute coffee shop where we took a break in the middle of the tour. You will love looking back on all the photos you take of this tour.

My favourite tour in Athens, and one of my favourite tours anywhere in the world. Elissavet was an exceptional guide, very knowledgeable and friendly, and happily spent longer with us than she needed to. She made us feel that she was enjoying the tour as much as we were! Athens has an incredibly diverse collection of street art around most corners. But this isn’t just about the art, it’s about the history and geography and community of the different areas of the city. I could not recommend this tour more highly, it was fantastic!

Had a good time getting to check out areas other than around the acropolis. Our guide Nikólaos was super nice and very knowledgeable about the local artists. Appreciated seeing not only commissioned pieces but a ton of other things that you might not notice down some side streets. Had a good time chatting about basketball during the break and would suggest this to anyone looking for something outside of the typical tourist stuff.

This is a nice experience to learn about different neighborhoods, history, culture, art and the artists with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. There's a coffee break in the middle to recharge. It is a great way to spend the morning.

This was a very fun and interesting walking tour. We considered trying to look up well know street art pieces and trying to do this on our own but I’m really glad we did the tour instead as we would never have found everything Antigone showed us, nor would we have learned about the different artists. We happened to be in Athens on a really hot day and we were a little wilted by the end but so glad we did the tour. I loved seeing the different neighborhoods too

We waited 15 min for 2 girls who were drunk. Rude for us an inexcusable for the office to ask us to wait. Of course we don’t want to be jerks and say no. Then they arrived drunk and disruptive in the tour. The guide did a great job of keeping them in check but it affected my experience. The guide was knowledgeable and did a great job.

It was a great tour. We met interesting people from Europe and Israel. We explored unique parts of the city that we might not have found on our own. You see a great variety of types of street art from public service messages, to cultural visions, to commercials, and tags. Our guide was a street artist but didn't force his perspective on us, he gave us context but also asked for our perspectives. Bring good walking shoes, a few euros for a coffee/soda and a good camera.

Athens has more than Acropolis and Plakya. This is an AMAZING tour of street art by noted and not-so-noted street artists, with a GREAT narrative from Nikos that covers the art, the politics and Greek history. Don't miss this! The walk is not long and easy. One of the best things we did during our two weeks in Greece.

We were part of a small group to see various street art around Athens. Nikos was fabulous, explaining the artists that have emerged from Greece and the significance of some of the art details. Halfway through the tour, we stopped at a small place for refreshments. This was very enjoyable for my husband, son (age 14) and me. Highly recommend it!

Our guide, Nicholas, was interesting, attentive, engaging, and informative. He had selected art to clearly show difference between street art and graffiti or gang graphics like we have in the USA. I look forward to returning to USA and studying graffiti to find street art gems. I hope i do find some street art.
