We had a personal tour ( just the two of us with a guide) and it was worth every penny!! Our guide knew so much about the intricacies of how and why a painting was done- it was fascinating and I will never view a painting the same way again!!
We saw the most famous works by various Dutch masters ( I.e. Vermeer, Hals) and even a painting by a young woman ( rare in the time period).
Our guide made sure we could locate the museum’s rest rooms, coat room and the cafe… and told us what the other floors of the museum held.
We could not have asked for a better museum experience and are so pleased that we had made tour arrangements well ahead of our visit to Amsterdam. Viator was an excellent organization to work with , good communications and took great pains to see that we had the very best experience at the z Rijksmuseum.

I did the private guided Rijksmuseum tour yesterday and absolutely loved it. The guide was lovely and super knowledgeable and made the art really come alive. It was one of the highlights of my time in Amsterdam and a wonderful way to experience the museum. I would highly recommend it.

Fabulous tour of the museum with Erin who gave us a knowledgeable and interesting tour of all the great artists and paintings. The 90 minutes seemed to fly by! She also included the history of the building itself which was interesting and gave us information about where else to look once the tour finished.

Insightful tour covering the Golden Dutch period in 90minutes. We learned a lot from Max, he shared a lovely tour focussing on the right level of detail on the highlights. We really recommend to other travellers to book tours with art experts, its a great way to learn more about the art, the artists, the context snd the time period. More than you will ever pick up on your own! Max made it fun and he had great knowledge to share with us!

We had a 90 minute tour with Max and he was outstanding. We got a clear communication of exactly where to meet him. He proceeded to make sure we were comfortable and gave us a tour that started with some description of the museum itself just for context. We continued to the galleries and he really gave us insights into so many of the works of art. It was so much better than generic audio tours of museums that we’ve done before. He talked not only about the historical context of the art but also the technical aspects and even our emotional reactions to each piece. We really enjoyed the tour. You’d be lucky to have Max as a guide.

Excellent tour of Rijksmuseum. Erin, our guide, was very knowledgeable about both the history of the museum itself as well a wonderful guide to the art. We took the three hour tour, 90 minutes would not have been at all fair to the building or the art. Learning the Dutch art styles was great. I have been to the museum on my own several times. Alone I missed all the nuances. I strongly recommend Erin and her tour. She is very outgoing, an expert, and was very attentive to our needs. Lots to see, very nice having a good guide to focus us.

We opted for a ninety minute tour with Ieva as our guide and it was outstanding. Ieva asked about our particular interests and then took us to all of the key locations in the museum, with delightful, expert insight and commentary. We would highly recommend this experience and Ieva in particular.

Awesome. Max was outstanding. He is aknowledgeable guide. He made the experience special because he truly cares about showing you the best the museum has to offer. Private tour of the Rijksmuseum was a fantastic way to learn about the architect of the museum, some Amsterdam and Dutch history and receive an overview of the major pieces in the museum. As we were visiting for only 4 days, we knew we could not spend more than a couple of hours at the museum and our guide Max taught and showed us a great deal in a short time. His knowledge was deep of the history and context of the museum and the pieces he highlighted. He anptly answered all of our questions and even extended our tour to share a few additional pieces he thought we would enjoy (we did!). Max was excellent and the tour was a great way to see the Rijksmuseum!

Our tour guide was Daan. He was really good. He explained everything so well and he took his time to explain everything and did not rush. We had requested him at the start that we wanted to see the Cuyper's library, so he ensured that we did since it was near closing time. Since it was a private tour, it was really focused and we could really appreciate the works of art as well as Daan answered all our queries too.
Highly recommend this tour and hope you get Daan as your tour guide.

Our private tour guide was a completely charming and amazingly knowledgeable young woman- Alexandra - who was only a senior in high school. Her presentations were very thorough, explaining the historical context and the intent of the artists, as well as the beautiful artistic techniques. We will not hesitate to book future tours with Viator.

Our tour guide Daan was very knowledgeable in the architecture of the museum and paintings by Rembrandt and other masters. The museum is huge so if you like walking this is the museum to visit.

This museum is huge, so a tour guide is a must in order to view just the “good stuff!” Our guide did this, and it was an excellent way to view, in two hours, the high lights. Our guide was very knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and friendly. Highly recommended!!

Wonderful museum with a broad array of beautiful art; fabulous paintings, tapestries, sculptures and many other items.
Our guide, Selma was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job explaining the intricacies of the exhibits, especially the paintings of Rembrandt. It was interesting hearing how the art tied into the history of the Netherlands.
I highly recommend this tour if you enjoy art and history of the area.
