Beautiful palace and castle. When we arrived at Palais het Loo we stopped at the stables and saw gorgeous Friesian horses hooked up to a lovely carriage. The gardens were wonderful as well as the Palais.

This was an excellent tour, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to see sites outside of Amsterdam. Our guide, Gopi, was very knowledgeable, polite and professional. He gave us lots of information about the sites we visited along the way. His car was clean and he's and excellent driver. Paleis Het Loo was very impressive and is comparable to other top palaces in Europe. Despite its massive size, it wasn't overly busy with tourists, unlike most of the sites in Amsterdam. Castle Muiderslot was a much older, more rustic castle that was also neat to see. This tour made it possible to visit wonderful sites outside Amsterdam that would have been difficult to get to if we had to rely on public transportation.

We expected rain, so this seemed a good option. Turned out to be a lovely day in all respects. We were picked up at our hotel in a comfortable sedan at a comfortable hour. Our first and longest visit was to Paleis Het Loo to see the stables, a timeline of royal transport in two garages, a sleek new welcome/exhibit space, the traditionally handsome house, and lovely formal gardens. (The gardens abut a woods, but we chose not to extend our stroll.) We next saw several royal-linked properties from the outside; we would have passed only on the former queen's residence (I think it was) where you could only glimpse the guardhouse, but the nearby Kasteel De Hooge Vuursche was stunning. The day concluded in a charming seaside village with Muiderslot, a moated 13th-century castle that is fascinating to walk through. (Caution: the turret steps are not appropriate for anyone with mobility issues.) Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable throughout the day. Recommended.

We loved the Het Loo palace and Muiderslot. It was a beautiful day and nicely paced. We would have loved a bit more time at Muiderslot but took our time with lunch. Gopi was a very nice guide and made our day pleasant.
