Excellent guide

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Pompeii Tour with Frezzetti! We had a fantastic walking tour of Pompeii with Frezzetti! She was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and really brought the history of this incredible place to life. She showed us so many interesting and fun things that we probably would have missed on our own. What made the tour even more special was that Frezzetti is an archaeologist herself. Her background gave us an extra layer of insight into the ruins, along with fascinating details and stories that you wouldn’t normally get on a typical tour. She made the experience both educational and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her and would highly recommend Frezzetti to anyone visiting Pompeii!

Awesome tour

The total experience was awesome! The breakfast was good before we went on the tour. The tour guide was a notch above the rest. Very glad we got her. She covered most everything we wanted before the sky opened up on us. It really poured with lightning. That got a bit scary so our guide took as as fast as possible to the museum and stayed until it calmed down. Then went to lunch but again it was pouring so we weren’t able to see very much of the shoreline. The driver was great! Don’t hesitate to book this. It was excellent.

Great experience, exceptional guide

Our guide through the ruins, Chiara, was incredibly knowledgeable about all things Naples and was certainly passionate about Pompei. We all learned so much, even though we'd been to the site with a guide once before. Chiara was very accommodating, spoke English very well, had a sweet, kind nature and really loves her job. Best guide ever - grazie mille Chiara! After our tour we were driven to a pretty outdoor site at a winery, where we were served 4 wines, a liqueur, and plenty to eat by a pleasant staff. The 2 white wines were paired with bread and oil and a charcuterie board for each of us. The two reds with large, homemade ravioli, and the liqueur with a light lemon cream tart. Excellent pairings. Overall, the tour and the tasting lunch made for a great experience and a lasting memory.

Viator's tour guide was exceptional. She was not only knowledgeable, but so passionate she made me feel like I was actually there when the city was thriving. I learned so much about the city. Its rise and fall. Its many occupants and how daily life was lived. This was my last guided tour of a three-week European journey, and it was by far the best experience of the entire trip. Alona is a credit to Viator and the city of Pompeii. She exudes enthusiasm and energy. I could not have asked for a better tour guide. I could have continued another three hours. Well, done Alona!!! Great tour, informative guide with AC bus

Pickup outside of Star Hotel will be busy, lots of other tours happening. Bus for the day was comfortable although could have been a bit cooler. Herculaneum was a great place to visit. I learnt a lot of interesting things and got good explanations of everything. We got dropped off at a shopping centre and got some nice food at a good price. We had about 45mins. Pompeii was great. It's hot as there's not much shade. It's busier than Herculaneum but wasn't too crowded in early October.

We had an amazing day at Pompeii. The site is bigger than I ever expected and there was so much to see that we could have been there for days. Our guide chose interesting locations and was extremely knowledgeable which meant that we were never at any point bored. I would definitely recommend the tour as I learnt so many facts that I would never have known other wise. The group was the perfect size so although we were always close to the guide, we were all given an earpiece at the start so that we could hear exactly what he was saying.

Fantastic in-depth tour! Our guide was archeologist Andrea and he was excellent! It took a minute to get used to his Italian accent but his English was very good. He showed us the new dig as well that is underway to uncover more of the city that was buried in ash. A lot of walking on uneven surfaces so wear your most comfortable shoes. Hat or shade umbrella also recommended.

Great experience. Transport guide, Luigi was very attentive. Subject guide is an archeologist on the Pompeii excavation team. He really covered a multi perspective regarding geographic implications, lifestyle of inhabitants and technical side of the archeologic excavation. The rough terrain and hot temperatures made for very challenging physical effort, but it was worth the effort.
