Guided tour of Pompeii
A very well-organised tour, with our guide Antonio keeping us informed right up until the beginning of the tour. He lead us around the ruins enthusiastically and with a wealth of knowledge. His sense of humour was an added bonus! We particularly enjoyed seeing the most recent excavations and listening to Antonio’s informative explanations. We would recommend purchasing a Pompeii Plus ticket to access additional parts of the ruins.

Pompeii Tour
The tour of Pompeii was a highlight of our trip. One of the benefits of the private tour is that you get to avoid the long lines to enter. The other key is having the right guide. Our guide was Daniela. She was awesome! She had a background in archaeology and deep expertise in the history of Pompeii. The size of Pompeii is overwhelming and Daniela guided us to key locations within Pompeii. She was passionate, engaging, friendly and had a wealth of knowledge. I would highly recommend a tour of Pompeii with Daniela as your tour guide!!

Excellent 2 hour highly informative tour
Paulo was an excellent and informative guide, providing insider knowledge so we could interpret what we were seeing after the tour ended. We were only able to see a main portion of the ruins during the tour (to keep it to two hours) but our ticket included access to explore on our own after. We were able to understand and appreciate what we were seeing on our own because of Paulo’s overview and detailed explanations. The tour started at the Porta Marina entrance near Pompei Scavi train station and ended by the theatre district where there are bathrooms and a cafe. We continued on to the Amphitheater and Museum. The plaster bodies in the museum were incredible and creepy. Worth seeing. FYI, the exit near the amphitheater leads towards modern Pompeii and the central Pompei train station so we had to walk along Via Plinio about 10-15 minutes to get back to Pompei Scavi station.

Fantastic experience!!
This was such an incredible tour. Being with a private guide and skipping all the lines was worth every penny. Our guide was Vitelo and he was excellent. We were able to see so many fascinating places that we would have missed otherwise. Highly recommend doing this tour In Pompeii.

Pompeii is one of Italy’s most popular attractions, and the well-preserved buildings and roads of the city can give you a greater understanding of ancient Rome. Don’t miss out while in Italy—there are Pompeii day trips you can take from Naples or Rome, so you have a bit of flexibility with your itinerary. Some day-trip options pair Pompeii with another destination, such as the Amalfi Coast or the island of Capri, and some include an expert guide to help you make sense of the site's history.
