Beautiful day trip to lovely castles

This was a great day spent touring a few of the more "modern" castles of Germany. Our guide, Annette, and driver, Zinat, were friendly and informative. I like Annette's personal childhood stories and how they relate to Germany today. Everything was well planned and explained to us before each stop. The only negative on this trip was the bus ride between the ticket booth and the bridge at Neuschwanstein Castle...the bus was full but then they squeezed our group of 26+ people on. We were literally standing face-to-face and back-to-back for the short ride up the hill. (They could have told us to wait for the next bus and everyone would have had a much more enjoyable ride!) The weather was beautiful, so we got lots of great pictures, both at Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. You are not allowed to take photos inside either castle, but still lots of opportunities of the exterior and the gardens. The guided tours inside each castle were very informative. We learned a lot about German history and royalty!

A dark experience led by an amazing guide

I am so sorry I forgot the name of our Irish (hopefully that identifies him) guide. He was amazing. Passionate, powerful in his discussions of this horrible stain on humanity. It was not a performance- it was a masterclass. We have continued to discuss it over the last several days since we took the tour. We followed it up with a trip from Salzburg to Eagles’ Nest. We greatly appreciated him giving Dachau the gravity it deserved and making it clear that history is on the verge of repeating itself.

An absolute must do if you are into history

Our tour guide Alex was phenomenal. He not only had a wealth of knowledge but also welcomed questions and an interactive tour making everyone feel comfortable. There is quite a bit of standing and walking but well worth the experience. Be ready to have a somber, emotional experience and learn about the history of Dachau, its origin and its final collapse at the end of WWII.

WHAT FUN! Our guide Tony was an absolute DREAM guide. So much so, we were at a stop and three women who took the same tour earlier in the week said how much better Tony did relating the story to the Red Ridinghood fountain than their guide. His passion for story telling, his engagement with the crowd and overall dispoistion was a 10/10. This was a great way to see a lot of sites of Munich without fighting the day time crowds. A Tour Worth Taking

Sarah showed around the city of Munich and got all the highlights from the beginning or rose of the Nazi Party. She was quite knowledgeable and interesting, especially considering the emotional heaviness of the topic. As a sociologist, I appreciated Sarah attention to the explanation of how Hitler came to power because of the circumstances surrounding Germany at the time, and how certain aspects of our current political state seem to mimic those of Nazi times.
