A ‘must do’ tour!

After learning modern history at school, I really wanted to do this tour. Tom, our fabulous guide took us through the timeline of Hitler and the beginnings of his political life. Tom’s knowledge was very good and kept moving us to the various locations relevant to the parts of Hitler’s time in Munich. Just fascinating and the tour lived up to my expectations and more! Highly recommend this tour to appreciate and understand how Hitler came to power.

A Must Do Experience

This really was an amazing all-day experience! We enjoyed the castle the most, the castle that inspired Walt Disney's Disneyland Castle, but also greatly enjoyed the palace. We got to learn a ton about the builder of these two places, King Ludwig, thanks to our wonderfully informative guide Elizabeth. Elizabeth had a number of interesting stories to tell us on the way to the locations, as well as making travel to and from the locations fly by quickly! She was also super good in giving us very clear instructions and pointing out special things we should do during the tours, and this greatly enhanced our experiences at the location. The gardens at the palace are simply amazing. Everything about the castle is huge And larger than life. Make sure that you take the bus or hike up the bridge for the very best view of the castle, surrounding mountains, and beautiful valley surrounding this location! After a fair bit of stair climbing and walking about, we climbed back on the bus and were able to buy two beers for just €5! What a wonderful final touch to our day in the beautiful countryside!

A powerful and sobering experience

You can obviously visit without a guide and there are audio tours available. However; there is something powerful about being guided around by someone who knows the history and the site. I was completely engaged in the narrative and atmosphere of the site. It’s not a “happy” day out but a powerful reminder that we should be wary of anyone seeking to silence others. Places like this are where that ends. Thoroughly recommended.

Richard was a phenomenal host! He took an incredibly soul wrenching experience head on - providing clear insight while showing proper respect and care. He welcomed all questions and took proper time to address them. The tour itself is a must do. It shows the horrifying evils that can take place when dark thoughts become words, that gather adherents, who become ideological, and who take actions. It shows what humanity is capable of becoming when dark actions continue unabated. The Dachau Camp is an important reminder of this potential, and the site does an excellent job being a testament.

Best Bike Tour in Munich!

Such a fun way to see the city’s main sites and learn the history! Dave was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable about the history of each site and he was very personable. He made the whole trip fun and interesting. We had a great small group which made it easy to hear and stay together. Munich is pretty much flat so it was easy riding, no need for an electric bike, and we are both 65. We think we lucked out getting Dave as our guide. He was great and we’ve been on many bike tours in different countries. This was well worth the cost and we highly recommend this tour.

Great day with Christine and Fairytale Castles

Christine was absolutely amazing. Very nice, funny, helpful. The VIP experience was great. It was just my group that was on this tour so we had the entire bus to our selves. The bus was very comfortable and the snacks and drinks were a welcome treat after each stop. The driver, Quendrum, is an amazing artist at the wheel. He even made coffee. Both Linderhof and Neuschwanstein were beautiful. The castle tours were fun and informative. I definitely recommend the VIP experience.

Recommend!

Great experience! Our tour guide was Deepak and driver was Phillip, both were so wonderful. The drive was smooth, and along the way we got to hear a lot of helpful background information about the sites we were seeing and King Ludwig. The first castle is a pretty quick visit because there’s really just the castle and a small gift shop. The second stop is much longer to allow you time to do a little exploring, grab food, and make your way to the castle (the parking lot is not right outside the castle). I’ve seen some users say they don’t feel the visits were worth it or were too touristy, but I personally really enjoyed this day trip! Not only do you see some beautiful icons of history and architecture, the drive out through Bavarian countryside is beautiful. We were very blessed with beautiful weather, though.
