Our guide Alex was excellent. He looked after us very well from meeting in Marienplatz, catching the train to Dachau and the shuttle bus to the memorial ground. He gave us so much information and made the whole day a good albeit humbling experience

Jessie did an excellent job with some difficult material. The site was moving and the experience well-organized for visitors. I really appreciated Jessie sharing important information not everyone knew, and about the admirable efforts of the country to ensure people understand history

Very important history

Russell_A, May 2026
This is a somber and vital tour. The subject matter is so very sad and gut wrenching. Jessie is extremely knowledgeable and includes a great deal of history and background material. She treats the topics with the care and sensitivity they deserve. Never forget this history! There is a lot of walking and Jessie arranged for me to use an electric scooter. She is kind and compassionate. I highly recommend her tour.

You must make this visit.

BARBARA_D, May 2026
Our guide Michael was a great teacher and leader. He provided tremendous insight into the events of 80 years ago. The memorial is moving and well presented.

Dachau Memorial Site Tour

Sandra_B, May 2026
Visiting a site as heavy and significant as Dachau requires a specific kind of guide, and Michael was truly exceptional. From the very start, he made the logistics effortless, meeting us at the designated point and expertly navigating the group through the train and bus transfers. It took all the stress out of the commute, allowing us to focus entirely on the significance of the day. Once at the memorial, Michael managed the difficult balance of being deeply respectful while providing the historical density needed to fully grasp the gravity of the site. Rather than just moving us from point to point, he shared incredibly detailed narratives that gave a human face to the statistics. His depth of knowledge regarding the history and the personal stories of the victims made the experience much more than just a walk through a memorial; it was a profound lesson in history and humanity. He was also very mindful of the group’s pace, allowing for moments of silence and answering complex questions with great care and insight. If you are looking for a tour that prioritizes educational depth, seamless organization, and sincere reflection, I cannot recommend this experience and Michael. highly enough."

A Vivid Tour

Dwayne_B, May 2026
It's a surreal experience. I will never forget what we saw. A lot of things to take in. One day is not enough

Lots of history, somewhat adaptable

Richard_D, Apr 2026
We had Mat as our guide. He is so deeply prepared that sometimes I felt like I was in a university history lecture. Great context, but occasionally overwhelming. The executive summary would sometimes be sufficient. We were in a group of only six, which was great, but it could be 20 or more depending on bookings. Mat tried to adapt for a group of retirees with a few slow movers/bad knees etc. But he didn’t always succeed. He’s a very fit guy and has so much info to share that it was hard for him to slow down. It’s impossible to cover everything on this 5-hour outing, and he did a good job of picking what to cover. He also was kind enough to extend our tour for a half hour or so and take a later bus and train back. A couple of comments for the organizers: it should be emphasized in the description that there are few places to sit down. But most importantly: this tour lasts from 10 am to 3 pm or later. There is NO EATING ALLOWED while at the memorial site and no place or time to buy anything to eat before or after. Granted, compared to the suffering experienced by prisoners here, this is not such a big deal but these days it’s not expected by your average tourist. Overall I thought this tour is a good value, with excellent guide, but it requires a real commitment on the part of the visitor.

Good experience at Dachau with Jonah

Sam_C, Apr 2026
Jonah did a good job. It was a shaky start, as I approached him (with his yellow sign) and he did not really seem to have a list of confirmed customer names. This is probably not on him, but on the tour company. Anyway, things went well from there. He really knows a lot about history and the Dachau Concentration Camp. My only comment would be that, although he had a ton of knowledge, there were times when he went overboard, taking ten minutes to answer a question with far too much detail. But overall, I would recommend Jonah to others and he put in a solid effort. We learned a lot about prisoner experiences at the camp and we could feel the weight of the place and the sadness in the history of it.

Amazing

Aileen was great. Her voice was loud enough everyone could hear her. Lots of great information with extra tidbits. She answered all he questions with an expertise like quality.

Excellent tour with Jessy

Adrienne_H, Apr 2026
Jessy gave us a wonderful tour today! We leaned many facts that we did not know and she treated the information with extreme sensitivity. She was kind and patient with our group. Thank you Jessy for an amazing experience.

Jessie -Best Guide EVER!!

Damon_G, Apr 2026
We had Jessie as our tour guide and WOW! The best most friendly, knowledgeable guide we have we had in any country, and we have been all over Europe. She made friends with every person on our tour! Detailed and conscientious of everyone’s speed, language barriers etc. Jessie answered every question to the point and without rhetoric or fairy tale stories! When we booked the excursion we thought “maybe six hours is too long?” Jessie made it seem like the day breezed by. On the way back to Munich the train stopped and there was an announcement about the delay. Jessie came right over and explained in English what was going on PHEW! You are lucky to have Jessie! Thank you Jessie for a wonderful day!! Damon & Cindy - Canada Blue Ball Cap. If you ever find yourself in Toronto, Give us a call 416-550-8000

Ganesh_M, Apr 2026
The tour was very informative, even if the visit was somber and made us refiect on what had happened in Dachau 80-90 years ago. Our guide was open and honest about the people who committed the atrocities and gave us a good lesson on the history behind what happened and why.

Overview of Dachau

Marilyn_S, Apr 2026
There is a lot of walking. Connie was an exceptional tour guide! Very knowledgeable and brought it very human.

Emotional but essential visit

Jason_M, Mar 2026
I can’t remember the gentleman's name, but our guide had 15 years of experience and was the perfect guide for this very emotional tour. You can’t understand the complexities or the true history of what you’re walking around, but the way he was able to be respectful of the site and bring out more than just a placard made the whole experience great for my daughter and me. It was the right length and a must-visit site for those with time in the area.

Marvelous guide for a difficult subject.

Lillian_W, Mar 2026
Alex, our guide, was just incredible. His depth of knowledge about Dachau and WW2 was just amazing. He took very difficult subject and made it very understandable. His passion for the subject was very evident. The tour departed on time and returned back as well.

10/10 recommend

Stephanie did an absolutely amazing job with this tour. She handled a glitch in the transportation system flawlessly! Stephanie shared information throughout the travel time as well as the onsite time. She welcomed questions and did a great job answering them. She was thoughtful and mindful of the difficulty of this tour and was professional and open the entire time. I wish we had more time to attend tours with her. Would request her for future tours without question.

Lest the world forget..."Never forget."

Diana_P, Mar 2026
Viewing the actual camp vs. seeing a television documentary or watching a movie about Dachau is far more impactful.

I certainly recommend to everyone

Antonio_S, Mar 2026
It was my third visit to a concentration camp and I really enjoyed every moment of this tour and the guide was very professional

Greatest tour guide for Dachau-Michael

Lynn_S, Mar 2026
It is a very heavy experience as the subject is so dire. Very very informative. Request Michael if you can. He’s brilliant- very knowledgeable and did a lovely job of sharing the details of this very sensitive and horrific time in our world history.

It was intense and insightful. Our guide was well prepared and gave alot of background information and context. Thank you for great experience - in spite of the very cold weather.

Too much talking & not enough time to see artifacts

Matthew_L, Dec 2025
Talked too much. The tour guide was kind but her voice did not project and she did not speak loud enough for the entire tour to hear. She needs a microphone. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to see the exhibits and artifacts in the museum because our tour guide was talking too much and didn't leave time to explore the artifacts. As someone who is genuinely interested in the history I wish she had gave us time to see the artifacts.

Response from Host, Jan 2026
