Best way to go!

Wonderful way to experience Athens. You can see the highlights, stay longer/shorter as you desire. So much better than traveling on a bus and being at the mercy of your fellow travelers being on time. Or having to be one of 50 making your way through the Acropolis or other attractions you choose. Plus maybe you’ll get lucky and travel with Nikos. You’ll learn and laugh along the way!

Do not miss this tour of the Acropolis!!

We had a wonderful time on our tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. Our guide Maria meet us at the base of the Acropolis for an early morning tour. She was an amazing guide and made the historical site really come alive with incredible history. Make sure you purchase the “skip the line” options so you don’t have to wait in line to purchase tickets. Also, it gets very hot on the Acropolis because there is no shade, so a morning or evening tour would probably be best. She also guided us through the museum and took us to the highlights, which tied together what we saw on the Acropolis with the artifacts they have preserved in the museum. Worth every penny!

Best Tour, and Tour Guide (Michael), EVER!!

This was the best tour EVER! One of the highlights of our week in Greece! We went to the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora. Our tour guide, Michael, was absolutely fantastic. Michael was incredibly knowledgeable-and hilarious!! As a history buff, I love learning the details, but I know history can feel dry for some people. Not with Michael! He brought the stories to life, kept us engaged the entire time, and had us laughing throughout the tour. We had so much fun getting to know him while learning about Greece’s rich history. I’ve been on several private tours throughout Europe, and this was by far my favorite-largely because of Michael. If you’re visiting Athens, do yourself a favor and book this tour with Michael. You won’t be disappointed!

Peter was prompt in meeting us at our hotel as we began our day of seeing the sights. He was very entertaining and enjoyable to listen to as we learned so much along our tour. Because of his knowledge of the city, we were able to avoid crowds to enjoy many of the sights we wanted to see and visit! Artis was great

Artis was great, knowledgeable and willing to answer any question you asked. But then he would step back and let you experience the site for yourself. There when you needed him (whether with a bottle of water or to answer a question) and would step back when you didn’t. True professional. The sites really let you see how the ancient world worked and provide a glipse into how great the apostle Paul truely was as a missionary.

We had a private tour with just me and my friend. The tour guide was dressed very nice and professional and the vehicle was nice. It was clean and had chargers for phones. A Day We Will Always Remember

My husband, daughter (10 years old), and I visited Athens during a Mediterranean cruise with a port stop from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. My husband is a philosophy professor and I am a former archaeology professor, we knew we wanted to make the most of our limited time and see as many historically significant sites as possible while in Athens. After extensive research, we chose this tour—and it exceeded every expectation. From the beginning, our driver, Anestis, provided excellent communication and was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating. He was also a very safe driver, and his spacious, comfortable vehicle made it easy to enjoy a full day of exploring. Along the way, he shared fascinating insights, answered countless questions, and impressed us with his knowledge of multiple languages and cultures. His friendly personality and engaging conversation made the day even more enjoyable. We also hired a licensed guide, Helen, and she was absolutely amazing. Her depth of knowledge brought Athens to life, and she tailored the experience to our specific interests. We had some unusual requests, including visits to Plato’s "original" Academy and the site traditionally associated with Socrates’ Prison. Helen not only took us to these locations but also provided thoughtful explanations of the archaeological evidence, historical context, and current scholarly understanding. We especially appreciated learning about the archaeological finds in the area, including the discovery of hemlock cups and the discussion surrounding where Socrates may have spent his final days. One of the greatest advantages of this private tour was the flexibility. We were able to ask questions, spend time taking photos, and move at our own pace. Helen expertly guided us through the museums and sites, helping us understand and appreciate what we were seeing in a way that would not have been possible on our own, especially within such a limited timeframe. To top it all off, they recommended a wonderful restaurant where we enjoyed some of the best Greek food of our trip. This tour provided exactly what we were hoping for: an engaging, educational, and deeply memorable experience of Athens. We wholeheartedly recommend this company, as well as Helen and Anestis, to anyone visiting Athens, whether you're arriving by cruise ship or staying in the city. They helped make our day in Athens truly unforgettable.

This 5 hour tour was the perfect length after coming off a cruise ship in Athens. Our Guide Manos was accommodating and welcoming. He was knowledgeable about the sites visited and easy to talk with. He gave us a good insight to Greek culture and how it influences the preservation of Athens. The skip the line tickets provided were very helpful at the acropolis. My experience in Athens exceeded all expectations

Having only a few hours in Athens during a layover, I decided to book a private tour with Colours of Greece — and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I made. Ruslan, who was my driver and guide, arrived right on time in a fantastic, spacious, and luxurious Mercedes SUV. During the drive, he shared the history of Greece — and especially Athens — from prehistoric times all the way to the present day, making the journey incredibly engaging and informative. We arrived at the Acropolis, where I purchased my ticket from the office next to the entrance. As I passed through the gates, a childhood dream came true — I was standing in front of one of the most important monuments in human history. After visiting the Acropolis, we stopped in front of the Old Royal Palace, where I had the chance to admire the Changing of the Guard with their perfectly synchronized movements. We then visited the largest marble stadium in the world, where the first modern Olympic Games were held. Next, we drove up to the highest point in the city, where I admired the breathtaking view of thousands of buildings stretching all the way to the Aegean Sea. I also have to mention Plaka — a place that feels like stepping into another era — along with Monastiraki and its vibrant market. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the energy to visit the Ancient Agora, which was the heart of ancient Athens, but I promise I will return soon. Thank you for everything, Ruslan! Awesome day in Athens!

We arrived in Athens on the day of a massive taxi driver/ tour operator strike. All excursions from the cruise ship were canceled, and passengers were scrambling to make other plans. Our Viator booking called us to relieve our concerns that they were fully operational. The driver was fantastic. He chatted with us and discussed the places that would be best for us to visit- the best part of a private car is that you make your own itinerary. He took us to several historic locations and the changing of the guards and still made it to our reservation at the Acropolis with time to spare. He gave us tips for each location and we had conversations about the historical significance of each place. He took us away from the crowds of tourists to an authentic Greek bakery with amazing delicacies and ice-cold drinks. The lack of tourist traffic allowed for several extra locations, and our driver made the most of our time in Athens. Highly recommended!
