Day out on Athens!

We traveled with Christo and our trip was amazing. He took us everywhere to see Athens and he took us right to areas where we could get out the car and take pictures and walk around a little bit. We are seniors with mobility issues and this was the greatest way to go. Cristo took us everywhere and stopped and made sure we were able to get pictures of everything we saw Athens at its very best.

Great way to see Athens

This tour was great. Our guide, Jorge, picked us up at the cruise port. drove us all around Athens and dropped us and our bags at the hotel in the early afternoon. We added the Acropolis Museum and the Parthenon tours. A special highlight was seeing the guards at the presidential palace. Very good tour event and very helpful with our schedule.

An incredible day at the Greek Monuments!

Dionisis was our Tour Operator. He was polite, spoke English very well, always making sure we were comfortable, and had a wealth of knowledge, and interesting stories for all the places he took us to on our city tour. He told us everything we would want to know before we saw the Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Athina Nike, Karyatides and allowed us to take whatever amount of time we wanted to spend for this part of the tour. This part was my favorite because it's some of the Greek monuments that I've always wanted to see. Because of his knowledge, I knew what I was seeing and what to look for. My second favorite part of the tour is when Dionisis took us to see the President's office, the tomb of the unknown soldier and the Changing of the Guards. What made this a special and unique experience is something that not every tour guide could do because of Dionisis' special military background. He explained how difficult it is to become a Guard, the extensive training required, that each part of the uniform has a special meaning and purpose and timed our tour so that we could actually see the ceremony that only occurs 4 times a day! Lunch was special too, Dionisis gave us a few options and we chose the Marina and had a delicious lunch and it was very scenic with impressive yachts! I could go on and on but let me just say we had a terrific day, and the tour guide you have could make all the difference in the world as to what your personal experience is! Lastly, Dionisis was very thorough in his explanations and answered all of our questions. It was a very special and memorable day for me!

Elias is the best. Great communication when it came to pick up. The tour was fun and informative. It didn't feel rushed, and I was provided the best hospitality. Drinks were provided and replenished. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and fun, engaging the whole family. He was excellent. I highly recommend a private tour, you learn so much more. Well worth the price. We also opted for the pick up option at the port. Our driver was amazing. Prompt, knowledgeable, and fun too. He gave us a city tour on our way back and we learned so much about history and Greek culture past and present. Tours in Athens can be chaotic- I know, I was here 5 years ago and took a cruise sponsored tour. This was so much better. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Fun and informative.

The Tuk Tuk Tour of Athens was the perfect way to kick off our first day in the city. It struck such a great balance between fun and informative—we genuinely enjoyed every minute. Our guide was engaging and knowledgeable, sharing just the right amount of history without it ever feeling overwhelming. What made it especially worthwhile was how efficiently we were able to see all the key sites around Athens while getting a real sense of the city’s layout and culture. Riding through the streets in the tuk tuk added a unique, lighthearted touch that made the experience feel more personal and memorable than a typical tour. I will say—it felt a bit like being on an amusement ride at times. The tuk tuk can move pretty fast over uneven roads, which added to the thrill for us, but it may not be the best fit for anyone who prefers a smoother ride or has back issues. Highly recommend this as a first-day activity—it gave us a great foundation for the rest of our trip and set the tone in the best way.

History nerds make the best guides!

Our driver and guide Alex could not have been better! He was knowledgeable, passionate, personable, funny - and he has great taste in music! Alex is a true history buff and he added so much to our already incredible experience visiting the Temple of Poseidon with stops and viewpoints along the way. I highly, highly recommend this tour and you should absolutely request Alex as your guide, you won’t be disappointed! We decided to go shortly before the sunset crowds and we were very happy with that choice as we practically had the temple to ourselves!

This was a great experience! Jason was an excellent driver and very informative. He was clear and punctual with our times. It was not rushed at all and the Lake and temple were absolutely amazing. There are several options for this excursion. We opted for the one without the entrance tickets since we weren't sure how the weather was going to be, however purchasing the tickets at the sites was easy. The whole excursion was about 6 - 7 hours or so. in retrospect, this would be good for those who want a more private experience rather than dealing with the crowds.

Our group consisted of two adults and two kids (ages 10 & 12). Our tour guide was very friendly, accommodating, and SO knowledgeable. She was excellent with keeping even the kids interested and entertained. She even took family photos, which I am SO grateful for as I never seem to get one of those when we travel. I would definitely recommend the experience to others.

Awesome day in Athens!

We arrived in Athens on the day of a massive taxi driver/ tour operator strike. All excursions from the cruise ship were canceled, and passengers were scrambling to make other plans. Our Viator booking called us to relieve our concerns that they were fully operational. The driver was fantastic. He chatted with us and discussed the places that would be best for us to visit- the best part of a private car is that you make your own itinerary. He took us to several historic locations and the changing of the guards and still made it to our reservation at the Acropolis with time to spare. He gave us tips for each location and we had conversations about the historical significance of each place. He took us away from the crowds of tourists to an authentic Greek bakery with amazing delicacies and ice-cold drinks. The lack of tourist traffic allowed for several extra locations, and our driver made the most of our time in Athens. Highly recommended!
