A must-do tour in Sitka of the Tongass National Fores
A must-do tour in Sitka! If you're looking for a stress-free way to experience the beauty of the Tongass National Forest, this tour is fantastic. Nephi was a wonderful guide—super personable, engaging, and eager to answer all of our questions. He shared fascinating details about local plant life, wildlife, and what it’s like living in Sitka. We saw salmon in one of the small creeks. It was the perfect, well-paced outing. Thanks to Nephi for making our trip so special!

Great way to see a lot on a short visit.
Our guide was very friendly and helpful. She gave us lots of information about the history of Sitka and life there today. We visited the bird rehabilitation centre which is small but very interesting. Ask the rangers questions and you will learn so much! Also the bear rescue centre. It was amazing to see Brown and Black bears up close, and to hear their stories. Some people didnt see bears in the wild on their cruise, so this was a good opportunity to learn about them and take some photos. Although they are not wild now, they have big, natural enclosures, and the staff hide food and make sure they are stimulated. Finally we loved the walk in the Tongass forest, along the beach and past the Salmon filled river. After the tour the guide suggested we visit the Russian Bishops House, the Orthodox church and the fort site, which we did in our own time. Thank you! A great way to see a lot of Sitka in a short time.

Sitka in the sunshine
Gary is a retired science math educator with incredible local knowledge. We learned about the salmon, fishing industry, the bears, the natives, Sitka and the surrounding area, and Sitka WW2. We traveled on all 15 miles of paved roads of Sitka. Stopped numerous times for pictures and views. Saw eagles and a seal lion too. And visited the fortress of the bear. Highly recommend.

Best rainy day in Sitka l
Our tour guide was a book of knowledge about Sitka. His wife is a Sitka native so he had so much to share. It was a solid day of rain but we all made the most of it. Fortress of the bear was awesome! Don’t miss it. We were able to take an earlier tour than the one we booked which was great because then we were not wandering around a couple hours in the rain. We traveled in a van so set assured this is not a big bus tour. Very personalized. If your going to book a trip to sight see this company is a great choice. Thank you Daryl for a awesome tour
