A must-do tour in Sitka of the Tongass National Fores
A must-do tour in Sitka!
If you're looking for a stress-free way to experience the beauty of the Tongass National Forest, this tour is fantastic. Nephi was a wonderful guide—super personable, engaging, and eager to answer all of our questions. He shared fascinating details about local plant life, wildlife, and what it’s like living in Sitka. We saw salmon in one of the small creeks. It was the perfect, well-paced outing. Thanks to Nephi for making our trip so special!

Great way to see a lot on a short visit.
Our guide was very friendly and helpful. She gave us lots of information about the history of Sitka and life there today. We visited the bird rehabilitation centre which is small but very interesting. Ask the rangers questions and you will learn so much! Also the bear rescue centre. It was amazing to see Brown and Black bears up close, and to hear their stories. Some people didnt see bears in the wild on their cruise, so this was a good opportunity to learn about them and take some photos. Although they are not wild now, they have big, natural enclosures, and the staff hide food and make sure they are stimulated. Finally we loved the walk in the Tongass forest, along the beach and past the Salmon filled river.
After the tour the guide suggested we visit the Russian Bishops House, the Orthodox church and the fort site, which we did in our own time. Thank you!
A great way to see a lot of Sitka in a short time.

Sitka in the sunshine
Gary is a retired science math educator with incredible local knowledge. We learned about the salmon, fishing industry, the bears, the natives, Sitka and the surrounding area, and Sitka WW2. We traveled on all 15 miles of paved roads of Sitka. Stopped numerous times for pictures and views. Saw eagles and a seal lion too. And visited the fortress of the bear. Highly recommend.

Best rainy day in Sitka l
Our tour guide was a book of knowledge about Sitka. His wife is a Sitka native so he had so much to share. It was a solid day of rain but we all made the most of it. Fortress of the bear was awesome! Don’t miss it.
We were able to take an earlier tour than the one we booked which was great because then we were not wandering around a couple hours in the rain. We traveled in a van so set assured this is not a big bus tour. Very personalized. If your going to book a trip to sight see this company is a great choice. Thank you Daryl for a awesome tour

Best whale watching time ever
Parker and the rest of the team were great! There were 6 of us and we were able to see bears, whales, and otters. We lucked out with great weather but our captain expertly navigated the waterways, the boat was very nice, and he stayed in communication with other vessels that went out at the same time giving us multiple eyes and ears out for wildlife. He had decent binoculars for us to use which we would have been lost without.

For The Knowledge Seeker.
For those that like to explore the more subtle ways of the world, this excursion is for you. This tour offered many of the great things that Sitka is known for, Silver Bay, Fortress of the Bears and the Raptor Center. All of the stops gave a more in depth look at several wonders of the city. Our guide was knowledgeable and informative. This is a tour that I would do again, as there was so much more to see but only so much time to do it in.
**One note of confusion that I would like to clear up. Everyone from the cruise ship gets on the same shuttle to downtown Sitka. I was under the impression that the tour offered its own shuttle but this was not the case. The reason for my confusion was due to the fact that Viator had me schedule a shuttle time and the cruise ship also made me book a shuttle time.

Our guide was very...
Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of info and interesting facts about the area. If he didn’t know the answer to a question, he said just that. He pointed out any wildlife that crossed our path, which on the day we toured were MANY eagles.
He gave great suggestions of places to visit in town once our tour was finished. We enjoyed it very much!

Great Experience
The people were very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to pick up early and keep until we had to get back on ship. They let us rent bear spray from them. Very informative and suggested places to go. Enjoyed this more than our other jeep rental through cruise line. Definitely recommend the Sitka Jeep rental!!!

Amazing day in Sitka!
Captain Jaren was the best guide! His knowledge and love of all things Sitka made our trip so enjoyable. We saw seals, eagles, brown bears and so many whales. It was a dream come true for me and my family. The boat was perfect, the amount of time was perfect, communication was outstanding! Take this tour, you won’t regret it.

Great Tour
This tour was very enjoyable. Our tour guide Inga was exceptional. She is a true local who is very informative and has a passion to share the beautiful area she lives in and loves. We learned many things about Salmon, local plants, and the bears. The bear fortress was a real treat to see. We were there during the feeding time and it was very interesting. Each stop was just the right amount of time. If you are looking for a small group tour this is the one. Thanks Inga, great job!

An Unforgettable Day on Sitka Sound
Our whale and wildlife tour in Sitka was exceptional. We enjoyed an unusually sunny day on calm waters, with sightings of sea lions, sea otters, and several humpback whales at remarkably close range.
The all-female crew aboard the Raven made the experience even more memorable. Naturalist Karley was engaging, knowledgeable, and wonderfully attentive. After I mentioned my interest in puffins while boarding, she made a point of speaking with me about Sitka’s seabirds and showing me St. Lazaria Island. That personal touch exemplified the crew’s genuine enthusiasm for the region and its wildlife. Baylee and Brooke were equally warm, capable, and fun.
The beautiful conditions were a lucky bonus, but the outstanding crew is what truly elevated this excursion. An unforgettable day and an experience I would enthusiastically recommend to anyone visiting Sitka.
