Fantastic Surfing Experience

This was a highlight of our vacation in Hawaii. We had so much fun learning to surf! The instructors were patient and encouraging and had picked the perfect spot with waves that were just right for beginners. They even adjusted our time slightly to ensure the tide was just right. Everyone got up and rode several waves all the way to the beach. By the end of the lesson, the kids were begging us to buy a surfboard!

Both my husband and I were standing up and riding waves by the end of the lesson, our instructor was very knowledgeable and helped us to feel comfortable and confident on the boards! 10/10 Would Surf Again

Our trio had a fantastic time surfing with OSP. No one in our group knew how to surf going into it but Matt, Brady and the rest of the instructors did a great job at making sure the group understood what to do and when to do it. All three of us were able to get up on the board and ride the waves quite a few times. Everyone was kind and gave us plenty of encouragement throughout the time in the ocean. The fact we had a secure way to keep our personal items safe while we surfed was great, as was the shuttle from the hotel meeting spot to the beach. The post show showing us the photos and videos of everyone wiping out and riding waves was a nice touch as well. Overall a 5/5 star experience and great first time surfing.

Top notch surf lessons. Amazing owner! Knowledgeable!

Max was patient, kind, and so encouraging with my daughter. She is 11 and a little delayed, and he worked with her so naturally and confidently that she felt comfortable and excited right away. She had an absolute blast and was beyond excited the entire time. One of the best parts was that Max also captured some great videos of her surfing, which made the experience even more special for us to look back on. Even though the beach was busy, Max made sure she had plenty of opportunities to learn, have fun, and truly enjoy herself. He gave her an experience of a lifetime, and seeing her confidence and happiness out on the water meant everything to us. If you’re considering surf lessons, we highly recommend asking for Max specifically. He truly went above and beyond.

It was so fun! The shop...

It was so fun! The shop is easy to find. Check in process was also straightforward and they have lockers for your stuff. They have a pro photographer who comes out to take photos of you so no need to bring your phone, which is one less thing to think about while on vacation. My surf instructors were Cody and Taylor and they were amazing! Their instructions were great and they were so friendly. The hardest part of surfing was paddling out to the waves from the shore and also back each time after you catch a wave and want to catch another, but the instructors come out to help you so you can just focus on having fun!!

Absolutely amazing day!

We had an absolutely amazing experience. We have been dreaming of surfing at Waikiki for many years and the experience with the help of our instructors. Kevin and Harry was better than we could’ve imagined. We had two beginner surfers as well and both of them had an absolute blast and caught a whole bunch of waves. We’ve been talking about it constantly for the last 24 hours. Thank you so very much for making this experience so wonderful.

Wonderful surfing experience

The entire team was absolutely awesome. We got plenty of time out on the water, even though the waves weren’t quite hitting. My seven-year-old rode tandem with an instructor and he had a wonderful time. My 10-year-old, my wife, and I all got to catch plenty of waves and had a great time. The team was organized, friendly and amazing they took GoPro video of all of us surfing, and the footage was exceptional. Nice long rides, and they provided trash guards and water shoes. I can’t recommend them enough.

I had never been surfing...

I had never been surfing before, and Travis was a great surf instructor! He was really helpful with giving me an overview before getting into the water and on the board. And once we were in the water, he helped me paddle out and spotted waves that I could surf. Was able to get on the board every time. Would highly recommend!

Surfin’ w turtles

Nicely situated in Waikik this is a great time learning to surf. The instructor teaches you how to position, paddle, and stand on the board. More importantly sets you with the best waves for your initial trials. I was able to stand quickly and on my third trial rode the wave all the way to the beach. Basic surfing mechanics is easy but nuanced. Having the instructor right there personally correcting your form is very helpful. Highly recommended. Prefer over the group class. There was one right next to us. They didn’t have half the fun I had. Saw several turtles right by my board too. Awesome day!

Tommy was a great...

Tommy was a great instructor for my 10yo son’s private surfing lesson! This was his second time surfing in Hawai’i (first time he was 7yo) and Tommy was a patient and supportive, giving my son encouragement and tips to catch the waves. He also listened to his needs - when my son got too cold he brought him in and was able to provide some bandages as my son got a few scrapes on his foot from the reef (you may want to wear reef walkers while surfing to avoid cuts). Gone Surfing was also fantastic- we had initially booked a Saturday 2pm lesson but due to high tide, there were no waves to ride so they rebooked us to the next day at 10am to ensure a good experience. They also had a photographer out on the waves and took some great shots (available for separate purchase), which I appreciated as I was unable to take pictures from the beach given how far out they were. The picture process was also easy - I received an email the evening of the lesson, was able to preview some images, and once the payment processed, I received a link and downloaded the images with a few clicks. I appreciate how easy the process was!
