Christened in 1934, Cloudia is a beautifully restored, rare example of a classic Norwegian double ended ketch. Inspired by the original designs of famed naval architect Colin Archer (1832-1921), from Larvik, Norway, the Cloudia is a Listerskøyte. The top-sail ketch is notable for durability and safety. Archer’s shipyard designed and constructed the famed Fram, which participated in a number of expeditions to the North Pole and later supported Roald Amundsen’s historic first expedition to the South Pole. The Cloudia is rigged as a topsail ketch in the British or American style, which means there are 2 two-piece masts which allow her to carry more sail than a traditional Norwegian rig with shorter single masts. Cloudia’s main mast is 85 feet high including the top-jack. Many different woods were used to craft the ship, including Norwegian white oak, sapele hardwood, Douglas fir, Alaskan yellow cedar, and Ipe Brazilian hardwood. Come experience History!

We start off the tour with a nice trip over the whale watching grounds on a 12 mile run to the crabbing location. From there we put your names on the crab pot buoys, bait the pots and toss them over. A whale of a day!

Make reservations ahead of time. Get there earlier than the recommended time to avoid traffic and get a parking spot. Check in as soon as you get there to avoid having to wait in line. Five minutes one way or the other can really make a difference. The boat was clean and comfortable. The crew was awesome and very knowledgeable.

Best Dolphin Cruise Ever!! Loved All the Extra Perks

We took the tour with 7 people ages 5 to 62. We all had a blast! Many of us said it was our favorite part of our week in Perdido Key. I’ve been on many dolphin adventures, but none this fun or entertaining. The dolphins did things I’ve never seen before. Kids got to hold and learn about sponges, blue crabs, and other marine life in addition to driving the boat. Such good photo ops and memories made. I love the faith-based, family environment. Great experience! We saw a bunch of wildlife

Excellent whale watching tour! Our naturalists were knowledgeable and friendly and our captain did a great job getting us to a location where we saw a pod of 4 killer whales. We also saw other wildlife during the trip including bald eagle, sea lions, porpoises, and harbor seals. It felt like the right length of an activity. I recommend this trip! Make sure to bring layers to protect you from the wind, even if it's a sunny day. Pack a snack or pick up something from the cafe connected to the check-in office.

Great time for all ages!

I am so glad I booked this. This was very fun for all ages. I was worried about the older people in our group that needed some extra time to get on the boat. The girl at check in brought us down to the boat a little earlier so we could have enough time to walk. We also saw someone with a wheel chair get wheeled down to the boat. Captain Luigi and Samantha were great and also made the excursion experience wonderful. Thank you so much for a good time!

What an AMAZING excursion. More than what I expected.

OMG. This excursion was thrilling. Such close encounters with whales. I was like a kid in a candy store. Who whales showed up close to the boat so we had to shut off engines per regulations. The whales put on an AMAZING show. Slapping fins, tails and breaching. Swimming past under the boat. Such an opportunity for great pictures and videos. Highly recommend this excursion during peak whale season. Definitely a good time.

A Birthday I’ll Never Forget

Celebrating my 50th birthday out on the water with my mom was already special—but this whale watching tour took it to a whole different level. From the moment we set out, the views were unreal… calm water, mountain backdrops, and that fresh ocean air that just hits different. It felt peaceful and exciting at the same time, like something amazing could happen at any second—and it absolutely did. We didn’t just see wildlife… we witnessed nature in action. A full-on seal hunt happening right in front of us (yes, National Geographic vibes 😳), followed by a bald eagle swooping down and snatching up scraps like it owned the place. It was one of those “did that really just happen?!” moments you replay in your head over and over. The crew was knowledgeable, fun, and clearly passionate—they made sure everyone saw everything and understood what was happening without over-talking the experience. We weren’t fortunate to see many dolphins, (and I kept missing their brief surface) but the Knowledge they shared about nature, birds nesting and landscape and homes was great ! A fabulous evening on our sunset dolphin cruise. We were just a few minutes from our departure when the first dolphins were spotted . The captain was very knowledgeable and the dolphins were plentiful! The sunset was gorgeous as well. I would definitely book this again when I return to HH.
