Good tour to get you out of the city

Good bus tour to get out of Taipei for a day. Shifen Village appears to be mostly a tourist attraction and not particularly scenic. We didn't choose to set off a lantern but that was pretty much all there was there to do, and souvenir shopping. The waterfalls are right next to it and they are beautiful so the drive was worth seeing those. Jiufen is very scenic and we enjoyed stopping for lunch with a gorgeous view. The Geopark is quite small but the rock formations are one of a kind. Our tour guide Jerry was great! He always made sure to know where everyone was and took photos for everyone.

Jack was a fantastic tour guide. Always attentive, informative, and knowledgeable. He knows all the spots to go and all the right ways to get there. Although the hiking trails in the park are closed post-earthquake, it is still open for driving tours and small stops along the way. Absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth it.

Our wonderful guide Howard devised a route which was faily flat as there are lots of uneven paths and many stairs Went to jifen Water fall which was lovely and had a sky lantern experience in the middle of a train track just before the train came. After exiting baggage claim, my private driver was at the designated area for passenger pick up service. He had a board up with my name written on it. I approached him. We greeted and he led me outside to a designated place to wait while he went to get his car. His vehicle was a clean comfortable minivan. He loaded my 2 luggage and we headed to my hotel. He gave me a bottle of water as I was seated. As we were riding along, he pointed out areas we were passing and made suggestions of places to visit in accordance to my interests, as well as places to eat, night markets info, etc. When we arrived at my hotel, he unloaded my bags and gave me a Taipei map of undiscovered places, in English and the native language guide, and a guide to Muslim friendly travel. I was very pleased with my experience with this company and my private driver.

We had the most incredible day exploring Taiwan with our tour guide, Oliver. He took us to Jiufen, Shifen Waterfall, the Golden Waterfall, the Yehliu Geopark, and even made a special stop for us to light a lantern and make wishes—plus several other thoughtful stops along the way. His timing was *perfect*; we always arrived just before the big bus tours, which made every experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Oliver was not only knowledgeable—sharing fascinating history and stories about Taiwan—but also genuinely personable and so easy to chat with. By the end of the tour, it felt like we had made a new friend. I can’t recommend this tour enough. Skip the crowded big bus options and book this tour instead.
