Unforgettable Katla Cave
The Katla Ice Cave tour was one of the most magical experiences of my entire Iceland trip.
The landscape itself was incredible—standing inside a natural ice cave, it felt like stepping into another world. Every turn revealed something new, from the textures and colors of the ice to the dramatic glacier scenery surrounding us.
What made the experience truly unforgettable, however, was our guide, Helgi. He was knowledgeable, funny, engaging, and clearly passionate about Iceland's glaciers and natural history. He had a wonderful way of making everyone feel comfortable while also sharing fascinating information throughout the tour.
One of my favorite memories was when he helped us create glacier rainbows in the ice. It was such a simple but beautiful moment that perfectly captured the wonder of the experience. Those little moments are what transform a great tour into an unforgettable one.
Helgi's enthusiasm, sense of humor, and genuine love for what he does made the tour even more special. By the end, it felt less like following a guide and more like exploring with someone who was excited to share one of Iceland's greatest treasures. And I definitely recommend you try the water.
Thank you for an amazing adventure. Of all the incredible things I experienced in Iceland, the Katla Ice Cave remains one of the memories I find myself smiling about most.

The most magical day!
This tour far exceeded our expectations! We visited 5 beautiful locations and each one was better than the last. We absolutely loved getting to see places we wouldn’t have been able to experience without a super jeep and a guide! Thorsmork is beyond beautiful. The guide Simeon was wonderful - kind, knowledgeable and took great care of us. Lunch boxes (ordered separately from Midgard) were delicious and we highly recommend. We also had a great dinner at the base camp after the tour!

Our guide Tama was very...
Our guide Tama was very knowledgable and friendly. She was also really proactive in offering to take photos and so we got some really nice, cool ones of ourselves. The tour itself is more walking to the ice tunnel than being in it but it was really interesting to walk on a glacier that was black

Definitely do it if the opportunity arises.
We were out and about with guide David for 3 hours. He told us a lot about the culture and customs of Iceland. Upon arriving at the ice cave, the formation and disappearance of the ice caves were clearly explained to us. It was a fun and interesting excursion, well worth it.

BEST Glacier Hike Tour in Iceland! 10/10
Our guide Lukas Was incredible! He was super organized, professional, fun, and took care to make sure that we were all safe and together at all times. His instructions and information were very clear and we learned a lot from him. It was perfect 10/10 experience. Can’t imagine it being any better. This was one for the record books. Would definitely recommend!

Great value and fun experiences
We felt this was a great value with Reykjavík pickups for both legs.
Thor was a great driver and guide to the lava tunnel and Juan was a terrific guide for the lava tunnel. Then Hodei drove us to and from Silfra and was wonderful as well. Francesca was our guide for the snorkel and was amazing. Everyone was super accommodating and helpful and made this an easy and enjoyable experience for us.
Review all of the info and materials and you will know exactly what to expect. Yes, cold, damp, etc. — you are snorkeling in 2-4C water in a dry suit — this is to be expected. Francesca and Hodei did a great job checking our seals and fits for our gear so that we were all set once we got into the water.
A singular experience we really enjoyed. Thank you Thor, Juan, Hodei, and Francesca! All of you provided excellent service and attention to us and were very friendly and helpful. Great experience.

Not to be Missed!!
This was Fabulous! Our family loved every minute of riding ATV’s across the Black Sand Beach & over river crossings! We even got to see the old US dc3 plane relic left on the beach and learned about its history! Teen Boys loved it as did my husband! I was the princess backseat rider and enjoyed it all so much. Highly recommend!

Amazing trip!
The trip was incredible and I really enjoyed the whole experience! Our original time got cancelled due to weather warnings but the team were very helpful at resolving this and offering the earlier slot. We did get stuck out in the snow for a while but this was bound to happen with the weather conditions and we all got back safely and only around an hour and a half later than expected.

Land of Fire and Ice
Lava show in Vik (guided by Luis) introduced us to volcano science and Katla geopark. It was a nice way to learn a little about the area and its relationship/history with the volcano. We were going to explore the Katla geopark/glacier the following day, so the show gave me more appreciation for the landscape, the history, and the residents. Plus it was nice to sit back, share a beer during the show and remove some layers due to the rising heat of the room. (And the soup next door is pretty tasty too).

Amazing private Golden Circle Tour
Our group of six had an amazing time on our private Golden Circle tour with BR Tours, booked through Viator.
Every stop on the tour had the most incredible stunning sights.
Our driver/tour guide Siggi was very informative, accommodating & friendly as well as an excellent,
safe driver. Siggi never rushed us. We were able to tour all sights at our own pace. We also had a wonderful relaxing lunch at the cute and cozy tomato/ horse farm.
Jon from BR Tours was my initial contact and responded to all questions without delay.
Jon actually met up with us at the waterfall area of the tour to provide our group with crampons so that we could safely walk on the icy pathways.
We really appreciated BR Tours going above & beyond which made for a most memorable experience.

Truly amazing!
Truly amazing experience! Did you know that far less then 1% of individuals experience this in the whole world?!? That’s crazy!
The guide is very knowledgeable about how the glaciers have receded in years past, how to keep you safest and also making sure you are comfortable learning the process.
As my tour bus driver said though “watch out for snow snakes, they aren’t like normal snakes…they tend to be your buddy Allen who throws a snowball at you.”
What a truly great time! Activity level wise not as hard as I thought but you will be hiking a bit along with using your leg muscles, back and arms a bit. You will be sore the next day if you are a wimp like me 😂

100% Good chance to watch puffins
I was not sure to watch puffins because it was already mid August and heard that there was little chance to watch them in main Island. However we really enjoyed to watch many many number of them in Heimaey Island.
Of course it is also good chance to know history and challenge of Heimaey Island. Ebbi provided good explanation of the island.
