Our tour is named "Godafoss Express" it's a round trip shuttle from Akureyri to Godafoss Waterfall. On way back from Godafoss the tour could ends straight to the port or in the close downtown but the most popular choice is to Botanical Garden. This is not far from Downtown and Port with a nice walk in downhill. Other drop off choices (making arrangements with driver) visiting other attractions in Akureyri are available (ZipLine Akureyri, Forrest Lagoon, Aviation Icelandic Museum, Motorcycle Icelandic Museum) entrance tickets are not included. NOTE: For those who are willing to extend 60/90 minutes their visits giving us the time necessary for our shuttle to return back to the botanical garden or to the center (after making arrangements with the driver), we are happy to offer a return to the port with the first available shuttle on place. Our journey takes us along Eyjafjörður, one of Iceland’s longest fjords, to our first destination, the Goðafoss waterfall, which holds great significance in Iceland’s history. Next, we will explore the beauty of Lake Mývatn, where we can appreciate stunning sights such as Skútustaðagígar, also known as pseudo craters. This unique phenomenon can only be found in a few places around the world, including Iceland, Hawaii, one in the Azores, and even on the planet Mars. Stunning Godafoss

Brilliant excursion to Godafoss waterfall. Easy to find where to get the coach, Graham our driver (a fellow Brit) was a great tour guide and it was really interesting to listen to him enroute, he is very knowledgeable. The waterfall is absolutely stunning and there is a cafe, gift shop and hotel there. We had a drink and sat outside the hotel but be aware if you haven’t purchased anything they do charge to use the toilet. We spent an hour at the falls which was just the right amount of time. Beware the flies which were rife, I think due to it being a sunny day. On the way back Graham made a photo viewpoint stop and passengers could get off at forest lagoon. We got off at the botanical gardens rather than going straight back to the port. Fabulous trip we are so glad we booked.

Don’t go chasing waterfalls…let Saga take you!!

Absolutely fabulous few hours… the perfect amount of time. Great tour guide, and comfortable coach. We had perfect weather and our guide was so knowledgeable. We loved it purely because it wasn’t an all day activity. Highly recommend Saga for day trips…you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful day seeing the...

Wonderful day seeing the main sights. We never got to the caves as some travellers were always late getting back by the meeting times so by the end of the tour we had no time left for this part. wish we had longer at the earth lagoon.. it was the highlight of the day. Such a wonderful day.

Fantastic trip, guide Gabba was brilliant!

This trip was brilliant and the amount of geothermal things we saw and the scenery was stunning. We had Dabba as our local guide and she drove the minibus. Dabba is from Akureyi and she gave us so much interesting and useful information, it was brilliant! Dabba also gave us a little tour of parts of Akureyi on route which was lovely to see. We did this tour which picked us up and dropped us back to our cruise ship. We saw the pseudocraters, lava fields of Dimmuborgir, Hverir geothermal area with its bubbling mud pools, steaming fumaroles and a landscape like the moon was amazing. The strong smell of sulphur is not very nice! We also went to Godafoss waterfall that was beautiful with its glacial water. It was lovely that a stop at a cafe in Godafoss for coffee and a treat was included in the tour and a welcome break. We felt the trip was well worth the money and experience. It would have been good to have had a little bit longer in each place but knew timings had to be strict as we all had to get back to our cruise ship.

Amazing experience!

Please make sure you have Kiersten as your guide! Thoroughly knowledgeable from top to bottom. Knew everything about anything. We were extremely lucky this day. Picture perfect postcard day. Not a cloud in the sky, so that helped. The waterfall was beautiful, the boiling pots were amazing. The Icelandic landscape makes you feel like you’re on another planet. Downfall of course because it was a summer day, there were bus fulls, and two cruise ships in town, so all the sights were riddled with tourists, But Kiersten was truly amazing! You can tell she loves her job, took time to talk to us individually, answer any questions we threw at her. So great tour guide + great weather = great experience!

This excursion is worth doing! The waterfall breathtaking! Enough time to enjoy the beauty. The forest lagoon so relaxing! Enough time to really relax. Possibly too relaxed if there is such a thing!😊 Our guide Miguel was the best. He shared info about Iceland that was so informative and had a pleasant voice.

Relaxing Experience

With the shuttle being right at the cruise pier it was easy to get to the lagoon. The lagoon was not crowded and not touristy, many locals go to this lagoon. Beautiful view of the fjord. Changing rooms and shower facilities very clean. The drink selection at the swim-up bars is somewhat limited, but this did not lessen the experience. A very reasonable price especially considering transportation was included.

Weeing Godafoss was a...

Seeing Godafoss was a wonderful experience. The ride was not super long and we spent about 45 mins at the waterfall, which is beautiful. Thereafter, our guide took us to a scenic photo spot before going to the botanical gardens. He even waited for us before dropping us off at the city center. This is a great tour if you want to see the waterfall and come back into Akureryi to hang out in the town.

Fun small group tour of Godafoss and Lake Myvatn

Our driver and guide Siggi was professional and punctual yet friendly and accommodating. He shared much interesting and helpful information as well as personal experiences. There was enough time at each amazing site around Lake Myvatn and at Godafoss. Earth Lagoon was still under remodeling when we visited but the substitute experience at the Forest Lagoon did not disappoint. We were dropped off at a nearby site of our request.

Perfect day for Whale Watching

Everyone involved in this whale watching tour was extremely professional and helpful. My family and I were driving from Hofn (5 hours) to get on the 1:15 p.m. boat. We had car trouble and I kept in touch with a very nice woman from the tour. I told her our problem and she said they will try to wait for us as long as they could. As I go closer, I told here we were there and she told me to go straight to the ticket office, they were waiting for us. The tour itself was terrific. We saw 3 whales, 2 stayed together and the third was by himself. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the whales and even told us the names of the 3 whales that we saw. If you ever get to Iceland, I suggest that you take this whale watching tour, you won't regret it. If my family and I ever get back to Iceland, we will definitely take this tour again.

Our guide Nordbert was...

Our guide Nordbert was amazing. He cared for everyone in the group and was very cautious about the weather conditions all the time. He even provided the group with spikes for the slippery terrains around Goddafoss and Dettifoss. He also told us so many curious facts about Iceland. Not the whole group wanted to visit the thermal baths, so he immediately found another thing for us to do. I would recommend this experience to anyone!
