This was a very...

This was a very informative and complete explanation of how Hitler and the Third Reich came to power, going as far back as the late 29th century. In doing so we saw much of Munich and its beautiful buildings and spaces. Sam, our guide was very articulate and knowledgeable. He put together a very complete account for us. The walking portion was excellent and not too long or far for my group (all in their late 60’s). Well worth the time and money.

Great tour to two castles

We took the ‘classic’ tour, which worked out for us. It does not include the tours inside the castles but you pay as you are traveling to the first destination. Regarding the tours inside the castle, they were both a guided tour for about 30 mins which were informative. But, if you don’t want to do the inside tours, you don’t have to. Personally, I would have been perfectly fine not going on either of the inside tours and would have enjoyed just as much exploring more of the grounds at each location. Our guide Monika, was wonderful. She shared a lot of interesting information during our bus ride about Bavaria and the castles we were visiting. I highly recommend this tour, I appreciated that the visits to both castles was just the right amount of time.

Perfect day in Salzburg

Lot of walking but at a reasonable pace even for 70 +. Lots of history, great views from the fortress, museums, Mozart, sound of music . Susan our tour guide was the best.. she coordinated the train and buses . Presented all the Highlights in a clear easy to understand way had frequent breaks. After our two hour tour through the city we had approx 2 1/2 hours on our own . Susan had suggested museums to explore , places to eat Cafes to have coffee and dessert ,how to visit the fortress . Ride to and from was almost two hours each way but was well worth the views of the countryside and the Alps. Susan was always around to answer questions. Everything from start to finish was perfectly coordinated.

Worth doing as a tour

Whilst you could easily do this visit independently by navigating the public transportation and using the memorial’s audio guide, I think having a knowledgeable tour guide made it a more engaging and complete experience. It is a lot to take in in a few hours and Tom moved us through at a decent pace without it feeling too rushed. It was helpful to have someone explain the history, walk through the main timeline of events and give insight into the prisoners experiences. We were a group of 12 which was ideal, and Tom managed the group well and went out of his way to answer questions. Highly recommend this.

The tour was well worth...

The tour was well worth doing. Our guide Kyle first outfitted us from a selection of bike sizes to suit everyone. He then gave us a safety primer, as we would be biking through various parts of the city, and not always on bike paths. It was not a very strenuous ride, as we stopped frequently to have the various areas and buildings explained. Kyle was very knowledgable about the history of the city (despite being from California), and dispensed a lot of interesting information without becoming boring - and with just enough humour and wit to be quite entertaining. Our visit to the beer garden was curtailed due to less than ideal weather, but Kyle pivoted and brought us to a part of town where we had a good selection of local restaurants to choose from for our lunch stop. I would highly recommend this excursion.

Beautiful place but bad overcrowded shuttle to top

Great tour but very hurried. I wish there had been a little longer on the small town on the way back and don’t miss the bus. They run on time for sure. Make a note on your phone the times to be back at each stop it’s hard to remember all their instructions. The shuttle that takes you to the top was ridiculous they make you get on like sardines standing room only. Beware if you are agoraphobic. I’m serious about how many they cram into that shuttle. I probably should have given 1 star for that. Poor planning from whoever runs the shuttles and they discourage taking the horse drawn carriage up.

Excellent way to see the Castles!!

Sabine was an excellent guide! Comfortable traveling the motor coach with snacks, drinks, and Bavarian beer! Able to make some unexpected stops and experiences because of Sabine’s expertise! Great lunch in Hohenschwangau on our way to the castle. Worth the VIP price!!

Neuschwanstein Castle provided a delightful escape from the busy city of Munich. The commute was smooth, with reliable and clean transportation, making the journey very comfortable. Our driver was very safe, and we felt at ease throughout the trip. Our guide, Nick with Radius, was friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking to explore a charming town near Munich. The food and beverages were reasonably priced. Please remember to bring Euros for purchases near the castle. The castle itself was stunning, and Nick showed us several lesser-known highlights in the area, away from large crowds, offering a personalized and accommodating experience for our group. A Must Do Tour

My family and I did this tour last month, during our trip to Munich. Our guide, Achim, was amazing. This is a hard tour given the sad/negative history behind Dachu. However the perspective and information that our guide shared was respectful and realistic. I would highly recommend this tour.

We ended up doing a tour with Leon during our time in Munich. He was friendly, and kind and centered our tour to our interests! He was very knowledgeable and personable and his stories were awesome. He even gave us some great recommendations when it was over! We would’ve missed so much of the unique history of Munich without this experience.

Wonderful tour!

Our tour guide Elisabeth and our driver were amazing! Elisabeth provided so many historical facts and really made the tour enjoyable. The scenery you get to see on this tour is unbeatable. The only thing that was disappointing for us was we did not have enough time to see the bunker after going to Eagles nest. The only place available for lunch kept us waiting for so long due to a shortage of staff that day. The food and waiter we had were great, we just missed a big chunk of the tour because of it. We would still highly recommend the tour! I’m sure this is not an issue all the time.
