A must do!!
This is an all day excursion but totally worth it. The food and snacks were delicious and it's a lot safer than driving yourself. You learn a lot and get to see everything. Charlie, our tour guide, was a lot of fun, knowledgeable and took great photos! We had a wonderful time.

Awesome volcano experience
Our experinece started out with Uncle Jim, our tour guide who used stories to explain the history of the area and sites along the way. We were riveted to his stories which included humor and lots of history with many Hawai'in words I will never remember. At each stop on the tour, our guide told us how to best take advantage of the terrain to get the best photos and where to go to find the best views of each location. We visited a local bakery where we ate wonderful pastries and had a bit of lunch before moving on to the volcano. We did not look at any website images of the area before arriving so we were totally blown away by the panoramic views of the crater as steam vents were pumping out clouds of smoke and gasses about a mile away from us. We passed many cracks and fissures as we walked the trail to the visitor center where gift shops and more views awaited us. Part of the lave tube was closed due to construction, but we were able to walk through 90% of it and see the location where part of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was filmed. We were traversing the same path of an ancient erruption as we followed the turns of the tube until we reached the end and had to turn back. The pictures we took there will serve as a reminder of the wonder we felt as we walked in the darkness of the tube surrounded by the quiet only being underground can provide. Then we went to Hilo where we saw Rainbow Falls and drove around a park where one of the statues of King Kamehaha is enshrined as he overlooks the areas where families can walk along paths and watch children play in the small salt water swimming areas. The falls were breathtaking and we enjoyed drinking fresh coconut water from a street vendor who sold coconuts from the bed of his truck. The weather for our trip was perfect, sunshine all day except for a few drops of rain when we were in Hilo for the Rainbow Falls part of the tour. This tour was the highlight of our Big Island visit.

Spectacular!
We loved every minute of this tour. The tour bus ride, dinner below the summit at the museum/gift shop, sunset and finally star gazing were all perfect. Our tour guide Jason was awesome! He provided great stories and insights into Hawaiian history as we made our way up the mountain, and his knowledge after dark during the star gazing portion of the trip was incredible. He showed a genuine love for astronomy, and Hawaii as a whole. You will NOT be disappointed with this tour.

Book & enjoy the views
Great experience overall with excellent sites/views and a wonderful way to learn about the culture. We had Jason as our tour guide. He was fantastic. He gave us great insights on the local culture. The road is very curvy - one lane each way - take motion sickness medicine! Enjoy the waterfalls and the black sand beach as well.

Lava, flora and stars!
Aaron our guide was an unbelievable wealth of knowledge! He narrated the entire trip with names, dates and places making this tour so interesting. We saw so much, giving us a real feel for the diversity of the island. We were very fortunate in that the volcano had erupted about a week earlier and was still spewing smoke.

Lots of twist and turns...
Lots of twist and turns on the way to Hana! The van was really nice and Marty our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable of the history, culture and geo climate. If you tend to get motion sickness I would recommend motion sick pills before you go and again around noon. Overall a great day and I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!

Diamond head hike
Matthew was outstanding. Professional, knowledgeable, kind, and a wonderful storyteller — he has a gift for making history and local detail come alive. He was attentive to the whole group, easy to talk to, and clearly passionate about what he does.
We also want to thank Matthew for his service to our country. It was an honor to spend the day with him.
Highly recommend. If you’re choosing a guide, choose Matthew. 👏🇺🇸🤙😎

Fantastic tour of The volcano and Hilo.
What a great tour!! Jill was a fantastic host and was so pleasant, knowledgeable, and kind. The transportation was excellent with only 12 total guests. The itinerary was excellent and the tour of the volcano was spectacular. A true must do when in Hilo! Once again a spectacular day, don’t hesitate to book this tour.

Fantastic tour. There was...
Fantastic tour. There was so much to learn and see. You can go completely at your own pace and do as much or as little as you like. Very easy to follow directions and it uses your phones GPS, so it knows which road you are on. 100% recommend it for anyone wanting to do some site seeing without booking a tour guide.

The view is breath...
The view is breath taking. The guides are skilled, knowledgeable and hilarious! My kids are 6 and 11 and both were able to zip line by themselves until the 6th and 7th line. That was due to the distance of those lines. All of us had a blast and my son said it was his favorite experience.

Captain Sean Penn
Captain Bryce and his mate were amazing. Great vibes from the very beginning even with the trip being a little challenged by equipment availability issues. They got us right out and into some whales right away. Then took us to another group of whales further north up the coast. When that group didn’t really stay near the surface or breach a bunch they took us several miles back to the south and out to the deep water and got us right on top of a group of whales that consistently breached right next to the boat.
Honestly, whale watching isn’t really my vibe but you got to please the wife ya know. Captain Bryce made something that otherwise was not very adventurous into more of an adventure. I will 100 percent recommend to all friends, family, and business associates.

Ashley and Alex are the best!
Ashley and Alex were so great. They educated us while finding SO many whales. You can tell they truly care about the species and we learned a lot, but we also got to see so many breaches! We saw flips and turns, spouts and tails... it was amazing! We saw 6 or 7 different whales, including a baby who was quite playful! The zodiac ride is not for the faint of heart-- it's bumpy but FUN and we loved our experience. We would do it again, most definitely!!
