Beautiful area to visit. We did not do the inside tour of the castle but took the horse drawn carriage up - still a bit of a walk after carriage. To get the bus to come down you need to do about a 15 minute straight up - hard work but so worth the view. Be sure to go to the bridge!!

Great Well Run Castle Daytrip

Deyse did a great job. Helpful and positive throughout the day. She gave us several good tips about visiting each of the sights. She managed the group carefully and we remained on or ahead of schedule with no stragglers etc. Jordan the driver also did a professional job. Though more expensive than some other options, Deyse made it worth the extra money. Well done!

The tour guide, Elisabeth was awesome! So knowledgeable about German history and both castles we toured. We took this tour in mid June and the weather was very warm. This tour requires ALOT of walking. Be prepared with comfy shoes. Would highly recommend!!!

Great views of Bavarian Alps. Enjoyed the guides many stories and information. The only thing is be very aware of how much cash you need. It’s an additional 35 euros per person to ride bus to the Eagles Nest. It would make a lot more sense to include this in the initial purchase price. There was one group of five people that did not have the fair in cash. Guide floated them the money until they were shown an ATM at the final stop. I could see how this could ruin your day!

I think having a degree of historical knowledge is good as it helps with empathy and discovery. We loved the quality of presentation delivered by Nick and felt his handling of the schedule to be the ideal blend of efficiency and liberal understanding. The comfort of the coach and driving competence gave us a calm confidence to appreciate the delights of the Bavarian countryside that a pure city break would not give. Neuschwanstein is very different to any of the numerous castles I have visited!

Wonderful Experience and Outstanding Guide

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! Our guide was absolutely wonderful- friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely funny. He did an excellent job keeping everyone engaged and made the entire experience both entertaining and informative. The only thing I wish was different is that the tour had lasted longer than one hour because we were having such a great time. We also happened to have a rainy day, but that was completely out of the tour operator’s control and certainly didn’t diminish the experience. If you’re considering this boat tour, I highly recommend it. The outstanding guide, beautiful scenery, and overall experience made it well worth it. Five stars!

This was fun. Bus was not overcrowded, which was a plus! Nice stops, exactly as described. Make sure you bring cash - for many of the activities. Lunch was great, great view. Castle shorter than we expected but magical. Coaster was awesome! Guide was knowledgeable and helpful. Great long day!

We traveled by train to Salzburg for the day. Maxine was our excellent guide. She was friendly and professional. This was a wonderful experience even if the weather was not very cooperative. We saw several sights from the Sound of Music and Mozart's birthplace. We visited the monastery and cemetery. Had ample free time for lunch, a bit of shopping and walking around. Salzburg is a beautiful city. Maxine made our day special and I recommend getting on her tour.

Wonderful tour with Jonny, Recommend!

We enjoyed this tour very much. Jonny was our guide and he is an excellent guide- professional and friendly. He was informative and personable. He answered everyone's questions. There is a lot of walking involved in this tour so be prepared. Comfortable shoes are a must! Lots of steps in the castle. It rained off and on so I was glad I had my umbrella. The weather did not hamper the tour. The walk to the bridge is worth it for the amazing photo op of the castle and after going through N castle, just past the cafe, is a balcony with open windows. Be sure to take a photo from that location. There is ample time to visit the castle, visit the gift shop, have lunch, walk to the bridge, etc. The timing on the itinerary was just right for us.
