Our tour guide Angela was absolutely fantastic and made this tour special. Her knowledge of the history of Cyprus and local knowledge gave a real feeling of Cypriot life. Her commentary was clear and not rushed. The villages were beautiful and I'm really glad we chose this tour to see them. So picturesque. I saw a review complaining about the bus and waterfall, buti don't agree at all. The waterfall was really pretty and the bus was comfy and air-conditioned. It was a smaller bus, and the driver did so well getting round some tight bends. A huge bus would never make it. I wasn't especially looking forward to the wine tasting but it was actually a highlight. The winery was very pleasant and the tasting guide had us all laughing. He was very entertaining. The Aphrodite stop was a great spot for a pic. I feel I know so much more about Cyprus now. Great tour guide (and driver), good tour, lasting memories. Thank you.

Sept 11, 2026: Troodos Mountain Adventures: Who decided that 10:30 AM is too early for wine? Because our guide, Maria, firmly rejected that myth. Here’s a recap of our Troodos Mountains adventure: Stop 1: Constantinou Winery – Where science meets sips. They use a refractometer to check grape sweetness before letting high-tech machinery handle the magic. Stop 2: Lion Spirit Winery – We kicked things off with Xynisteri (Cyprus’s favorite local white grape) and wrapped up with Commandaria. Fun fact: It got its name during the Crusades when the Knights of St. John set up their headquarters (the Commanderie) here! They even have a rare “Black Amber” vintage that costs a pretty penny.  The Lunch Break – Sumptuous, flawless, and completely necessary after all those tastings. Stop 3: Ayia Mavri – Owned by a 92-year-old doctor whose passion for winemaking is goals. We easily cleared 4+ wines per stop, but his Commandaria? Absolute chef’s kiss. It was so velvety, rich, and smooth it’s no wonder they call it the “wine of kings”! Naturally, we had to smuggle home a bottle of Commandaria—a legendary blend of Xynisteri and Mavro—so a piece of Cyprus stays with us.  Between her world-traveler stories, dancer moves, cheerleader energy, and skydiver guts, Maria kept us on our toes. Theodora was an exceptional tour guide. He organized this wonderful tour concisely. Very specific itinerary, she explained what to expect of the day and navigated us around seamlessly that made for a great experience. Sge was a wealth of knowledge and tips regarding Istanbul, and more. Friendly and accommodating. We felt like we were touring with an old-time friend.
