Of the 8 hour tour, we spend more than 5 hours in the crowded car. Three of the visiting stops (Haloumi farm, traditional lunch in a picturesque village and winery) were interesting, but a pottery amateurish shop was completely unnecessary. The anounced donkey milk product stop was omitted. The guide was nice, but a better more informative tour description would have been useful to fill the 5 hour drive.

Hi Andreas - thank you for taking the time to review! We do appreciate your feedback but it does seem as though you may not have read the tour description fully before booking :(
Keeping in mind that you booked and stated a pickup point outside of central Larnaca - we did not ask you to come closer to town and still accommodated your pickup point. I can see from the GPS records that you were collected from your hotel at 08:25 and arrived at the first location at 09:45. So this was 1hr 20mins to get into the mountains which is a normal drive time for getting into Troodos - we do feel that if long journeys and time in the car is a concern for anyone then it really is up to them to use an online map service to research journey times - we clearly state that the tour will visit the Troodos mountains and you are free to look into how far away this is from your accommodation if journey time is a concern. Participants should also consider that we run small group tours rather than private tours so should keep in mind that there may be other pickups along the way - which was the case for your group. The tour description states approximately 8hrs but participants should expect a longer day if their pickup location is further outside town. Once in the mountains I can see that your drive times between villages was between 6-23mins which again you would expect on a tour that is exploring different villages (note the title of the tour which we think clearly describes this concept).
With regards to the car being crowded... Our vehicles, in fact, officially and legally seat seven passengers but for extra comfort we already keep one seat in the back row empty. Because most bookings come in pairs, if we listed less tickets online, many tours would end up with just four people total, leaving two available seats unsold (rather then filling up) and forcing us to raise prices significantly. That’s why we keep six seats available and you are more than welcome to let the guide know if you would like to switch seats or move around.
The tour description does also state that you'll be visiting a variety of foodie & cultural locations and we have already had positive feedback from others in the group that they enjoyed the visit that features traditional pottery along with the Cyprus delicacy made from grape jelly... We are really sorry you felt it was unnecessary but we offered what was advertised so it seems maybe the concept of the tour was not really for you. The tour info also states that routes and locations which will be visited varies from tour to tour so we don't always include the donkey park that you might have seen mentioned in other reviews.

Highly recommended trip! With my wife and 5-y.o. we were entertained throught the whole trip. I particullarly apprieciate that without the script, Helena gave us interesting stories and details of the local culture and folklore. All the visited places were genuine and well prepared to host us. The trip both fed our curiosity and sparked lust for more of the breathtaking mountains and mouthwatering tates of Troodos Mountains.

We had such an amazing time on this tour! 🎉 Our guide Theodore was fantastic – super knowledgeable and made the whole experience so fun. From tasting halloumi 🧀, carob syrup, chocolates 🍫, fresh bakery treats 🥐, and wine 🍷 to ending with a full Cyprus cuisine spread 😋… it was such a perfect way to dive into the island’s culture and flavors. Awesome. Helena was the Best guide. Very personable and soo knowledgeable- I learned so much! It was way more than I expected @ a bargain at the price. Really liked meeting the ‘real’ Cypriots- they were all so nice , treated our little group like family. Still can’t believe all we saw & did in 1 day yet not at a breakneck speed.
And the Meze - Absolutely the best meal I’ve ever had+ leftovers!! Highly recommend
And the donkey farm! Omg so cool!

If you’re passing through Cyprus, this tour is a must. The scenery of Cyprus is incredible, and driving up to the tranquil mountain villages was delightful. The food and wine tastings were great. The sightseeing was amazing. Recommend highly.

We had a great time on the Village Ventures food and wine tour (February 2025) with Helena. On the tour, we visited six different stops and had the opportunity to try fresh halloumi and anari at a local family’s home, Cypriot wines at a winery, honey at a bee museum, a full feast at a traditional Cypriot restaurant and various donkey milk products at a donkey farm. We also had some free time in the village of Lefkara, famous for its traditional lace-making.
The day was particularly eventful as it snowed for several hours and was very cold. Helena did a great job in these challenging and unexpected conditions, and we appreciated how the car was always very warm, that she would come to pick us up to minimise unnecessary walking, and the clear instructions and information she provided throughout the day.
It was a great way to spend the day and we would highly recommend this for anyone looking to visit Cyprus for a few days!

Had a fantastic time on this tour! The small group size made it feel intimate and well-paced, with plenty of time to explore and take in the beauty of the Troodos Mountains. The villages were charming, and the local food and wine tastings were a real highlight—everything was fresh, authentic, and delicious.
Our guide, Georgina, was absolutely wonderful—knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the area. She made the experience even more enjoyable with her stories and insights.

This tour sounded great and it didn’t disappoint. All very authentic. Tasted some yummy food and had a terrific visit to a winery with a lot of tastings of lovely wine. And then there was the beautiful donkeys we visited. Adorable babies and the teenagers and adults were very polite when taking the snacks from me.
Georgina, our guide, picked me up right on time. She was a lot of fun and provided a great experience. I would 100% recommend this tour

A fantastic day from start to finish, Georgina our guide was wonderful making all the different stops fun and informative . Meeting local family’s at the farms, winery, and Donkey sanctuary and getting to taste their products was so enjoyable; the lunch at the Mountain View restaurant was delicious and the walk around the village was lovely

This tour was awesome and a highlight of our trip. The small group was just the perfect size and tour guide Demi knew how to bring people together. Demi was great guide with a lot of knowledge of the area, food and people we visited. You get to visit several locations and see the awesome views in the mountains. Tour includes a lot of food to try. The lunch was plentiful and the moussakka served by the tavern we visited was the best I have tasted. Would totally recommend this tour to everyone traveling to Cyprus it’s worth every penny.

Amazing guide, great company and all the places were interesting in their own way. Explanations of the food and wine production were thorough, the lunch was tasty and filling. If i had to single out my favorite stop - it would be at the winery. The mountain view outside of it was amazing, the wine was tasty and speaking with one of the owners was very interesting. Overall a great experience
