Booked well in advance. Spent taxi money to attend only to find it cancelled and they claim they told Viator. Eventually got cancellation 12 mins into the booking time after staff called her boss to message Viator to cancel. Now out taxi fare. DONT BOTHER WITH THIS RESTAURANT

Dear David,
My name is George, and I am the owner of Folio Restaurant.
First of all, I would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment you experienced. I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to travel by taxi only to discover that the event had been cancelled.
I would like to explain what happened. This event had originally been booked by three separate reservations: your booking through Viator and two additional online bookings made directly through our website, making a total of ten guests. The evening before the event, the two direct bookings were cancelled, leaving only the Viator reservation.
As this experience requires a minimum of six participants to go ahead, we unfortunately had no choice but to cancel the event.
As soon as this happened, I sent an email to Viator requesting that the event be cancelled, as unfortunately it could no longer go ahead. It appears, however, that this notification was not received or processed before your arrival.
When my colleague informed me that you had arrived at the restaurant, I was genuinely surprised. I immediately asked her to explain the situation to you, while at the same time Viator contacted us to verify the cancellation so that your booking could be refunded without delay. I also contacted you personally to apologise for the misunderstanding.
I fully appreciate that this does not compensate you for the inconvenience or the taxi fare, and for that I am truly sorry. It was certainly never our intention for you to make an unnecessary journey.
Please accept my sincere apologies once again. I hope you will understand that this was an unfortunate breakdown in communication rather than a lack of care on our part, and that you may consider visiting Folio Restaurant on another occasion so that we can provide you with the experience we always strive to deliver.
