Fikardos Winery is a well-known, family-owned winery established in 1990 producing quality wines that reveal Cyprus' true character. Located in Mesogi, Paphos, it is a 10-minute drive from the city center, or a 30-minute bus ride. At Fikardos Winery, a member of the family will guide you through our facilities, where you will learn about our history, our vineyards, and our winemaking process. During the tour, you will be provided with insights and knowledge about the different stages of winemaking, from grape harvesting and fermentation to bottling and aging. The wine tasting includes six different wines selected by our winemaker. Sept 11, 2026: Troodos Mountain Adventures: Who decided that 10:30 AM is too early for wine? Because our guide, Maria, firmly rejected that myth. Here’s a recap of our Troodos Mountains adventure: Stop 1: Constantinou Winery – Where science meets sips. They use a refractometer to check grape sweetness before letting high-tech machinery handle the magic. Stop 2: Lion Spirit Winery – We kicked things off with Xynisteri (Cyprus’s favorite local white grape) and wrapped up with Commandaria. Fun fact: It got its name during the Crusades when the Knights of St. John set up their headquarters (the Commanderie) here! They even have a rare “Black Amber” vintage that costs a pretty penny. The Lunch Break – Sumptuous, flawless, and completely necessary after all those tastings. Stop 3: Ayia Mavri – Owned by a 92-year-old doctor whose passion for winemaking is goals. We easily cleared 4+ wines per stop, but his Commandaria? Absolute chef’s kiss. It was so velvety, rich, and smooth it’s no wonder they call it the “wine of kings”! Naturally, we had to smuggle home a bottle of Commandaria—a legendary blend of Xynisteri and Mavro—so a piece of Cyprus stays with us. Between her world-traveler stories, dancer moves, cheerleader energy, and skydiver guts, Maria kept us on our toes. Great day out , fantastic value for money . Angela had lots of interesting information on the history of Cyprus as well as some more recent facts and data. Lovely couple of traditional villages in the mountains ( which we may come back too . Alongside a visit to Aphrodites rock , waterfall and winery . Pick ups and day was timely.

Absolutely worth it

What a great way to see, taste and experience the mountains! If it wasn’t for this tour, we would have never tasted those things and seen those views and villages. The mezze lunch was absolutely delicious! The tour is done in small groups, so it is easy to ask questions and have conversations (and not wait long at the end of each stop or be chasing people down). Paul was great, very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Great guy.

Excellent informative and relaxing tour.

Had a really great time learning about the wineries and the grapes used in Cyprus. The tour was very laid back, with no rushing around or the feeling of holding up proceedings. Also, there were no tourist trap souvenir shops in the tour, so no pressure to buy anything (although once you taste the wines, you probably will!)

We had a great time

We had a great time with our 2 kids. Our driver / guide was super friendly and chill and offered us flexibility on how long we wanted to stay at different locations. The trip offered a very good balance between visiting popular coastal locations around Ayia Napa with beautiful views and allowing some chill time at the beach. 4-5hrs was just optimal! Highly recommended!

This was a well planned day trip with just the right amount of sightseeing, activities and time to explore included! Our guide Anna was very attentive to her party and gave us a great overview of the history of Pafos and kept everyone engaged with her knowledge. We travelled with family but also met our friends on the tour. We were initially told we'd be on different tours as we booked separately but the company went above board and beyond to ensure we could enjoy the day together. They jigged things around a bit and they were able to get us on together. It's a real eclectic mix of ancient history, local culture and the most amazing views! An absolute must do - it was one of the highlights of our trip, especially swimming in the Blue Lagoon. Our party was a mix of young children, teenagers and adults and it was loved by all!

Marvelous day trip

This is a must trip if you are in Aya napa. We enjoyed every minute off it. The places that we visited, the people that hosted us and our operator Georgina was stunning. She embraced us with a lot off rich information all through the way and she is a very wonderful person. I would rate this trip as a ten out of ten and as a must.

We were taken to some...

We were taken to some ancient, forgotten villages in the mountains, it felt like we were being teleported to a different century! I enjoyed the tour, despite the rain and fog, and the food we sampled. I can only imagine how stunning the valley would be on a clear day. Our guide, Andy, was fabulous! - knowledgeable, a good narrator, conscientious and an overall nice person.

Trip to the mountains

My wife and I traveled to the mountains of Troodos, the excellent and knowledgeable Katerina was our driver and guide showed us the hidden Cyprus, from meat and sausage smoking/preserving to distilling rose petals to make perfumes and drinks, to the distillation of the fiery zivania and the making and tasting of Halloumi cheese. An excellent day well spent. Hoping to use this company again next year.

Good quality transport....

Good quality transport. Good level of information given - stops didn’t feel rushed. Lunch excellent - so many different traditional Cypriot dishes. Visit to the winery was very informative - their commandaria was delicious. Plenty of time to wander round Omodos which was charming. Recommend doing this trip.
