Fun and informative halloumi making tour

Our guide took our small group (just 3 of us) on a fun and informative tour. We enjoyed our time making Halloumi, where we were involved in nearly all of the steps. We enjoyed the Halloumi we made (and other local foods) and chatted with some locals who were there to buy Halloumi. We made a number of other stops, each of which gave us insight into the history and culture of Cyprus.

Great Experience

Amazing day out! It was fascinating to watch and help with making halloumi. Christina did a great job of explaining and answering questions. Cheese making was followed by a brunch of assorted breads, cheeses, and a hawthorn jam that was detectable, going with breads and cheeses. From there we drove through the hill country, through both inhabited and deserted villages, to the winery. Wine tasting on the patio provided a lovely ending to a good day. Christina was a joy to spend time with, and provided us with facts, stories, and a good sense of what Cyprus is like.

A taste of the real Cyprus

Christina our guide was amazing. She was welcoming and so knowledgeable making our first trip to Cyprus a memorable one. Choosing a trip with a limited number of participants meant that we had time to experience each part of the trip at our leisure rather than being rushed from place to place. We felt the trip gave you a true reflection and taste of Cypriot life.

A Great Experience And An Enjoyable Tour

The tour centres around seeing Halloumi being made and getting to be hands on with the process. We were shown how each stage was completed and then invited to have a go ourselves. As making halloumi does have some waiting time between stages our guide, Christina, took us off to see a local village for a look at life in Cyprus. Once the halloumi had been made we got to try some of our handiwork and then had brunch trying all the different cheeses the process produces as well as some other local delicacies. The afternoon was spent visiting a local monestary, a beautiful spot to see this part of Cyprus, and then visiting a winery. The wines are delicious, some of the best white wines I've ever tasted! A quick trip to a traditional loukoumi (Cyprus Delight) maker to finish the day on a sweet note. Christina was a fantastic guide with loads of great insights and the conversation never ran dry. This is my second tour with Cyprus Taste Tours and I can wholeheartedly recommend them. I'd absolutely use them again myself.

We had a good day out with our tour guide Elena and the other two couples. The Halumi cheese making was fun and interesting and interactive. Wine tasting at the different locations was also nice. All in all a good day out. Nice to be in a small group.

Brilliant day out with Myra and some really lovely people on the tour. Pick up was perfect, Myra is very personable full of facts and know alot about alot of things so pay attention. Throughly enjoyed the hallomi making, and the wine tastings ever if the wines weren't my usual tipple. Looking forward to all the fabulous pics taken.. well worth the money

Lovely tour, slightly unfriendly guide

Great tour itinerary - the halloumi making was a very short part of the day but fun! The drive to the Troodos mountains and further stops were lovely. Our guide Myra made quite a few passive aggressive comments which made us uncomfortable, and were noticed by other guests as well. This was the only part of the tour we didn’t enjoy and therefore we have taken off one star.

Jam-packed day of great flavors and value

Our tour guide, Elena, picked us up right on time, and our 7-person group had a lot in common. This tour had so much in it to enjoy. Halloumi making was interesting, and eating it while it was still warm was wonderful. Our family-style lunch was delicious, and Elena even brought an Easter pastry for us to try since the holiday was just around the corner. There were so many different treats and experiences that we were very full and satisfied at the end. Elena even gave us a little treat bag as a thank you. She was such a warm and kind person and really helped us all to have a perfect experience. We are so happy that we booked this tour. We learned a lot as well! Elena took pictures of everything and shared it with us so that we could look back on our memories afterwards. You get a downloadable resource guide that's packed with information as well. So much value—you won't be disappointed.

Wow. This tour was WAY more than I expected. Everything about the tour was absolutely incredible. Myra was the best tour guide I have ever had! The Monestary, the history, making the haloumi and talking with the locals, the sites, oh my gosh, the lunch was the best food I think I have ever eaten. The wine tour was lovely and to end it on a sweet note was incredible. I highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful Experience

Really interesting seeing how the cheeses are made and being part of the process was fun! The people who own the cheese factory are so welcoming and lovely. Being up in the mountains was beautiful and our tour guide, Myra was really knowledgeable about the vineyards and different grapes. We had a fun group and we really enjoyed the day- highly recommend using this company!

Enjoyable day trip to the Troodos mountains in a small group, learning about and sampling halloumi, local wines, carob syrup and more. Plenty of interesting discussion around local history and that of Cyprus in general. Everything was run very professionally and Myra, our guide for the day, was excellent.
