Nice brewery and restaurant but beware of operator

    Kim_F, Jun 2026
Unfortunately, this excursion was a huge disappointment, and I cannot recommend booking it through M&M Lux. To be fair, the brewery was excellent, the restaurant served great food, and Viator’s customer service was outstanding. When I raised my concerns, Viator handled my complaint professionally and did everything they reasonably could to help. My issue is not with Viator or the venues we visited—it’s with the local operator. The excursion we received was very different from what had been advertised. Instead of the luxury transportation described, we were picked up in an old van without air conditioning. There was no guide, virtually no sightseeing, and the overall experience bore little resemblance to the itinerary we had booked. After our excursion, I also noticed that the description appears to have been changed to more closely match what was actually delivered, rather than what had originally been advertised. To make matters worse, when I raised these concerns, the operator accused me of making a fraudulent complaint simply to obtain a refund. That was both upsetting and completely untrue. I only requested a partial refund because the brewery visit and dinner certainly had value—but they did not justify the €150 per person price tag for what was ultimately just transport, a brewery visit, and dinner. One additional disappointment was that, despite being told beforehand that card payment would be accepted, the restaurant did not accept Mastercard. Friends who joined us had to find an ATM during the evening to withdraw cash. We still managed to have a nice evening, but that was thanks to the people in our group—not because the excursion delivered what had been promised. If this itinerary interests you, I would recommend looking for another local operator offering the same or a similar excursion. The brewery and restaurant are absolutely worth visiting, but based on our experience, I would avoid booking through M&M Lux.

Thank you for your feedback, Kim. We would like to clarify the hard facts of this evening for future travelers reading this review. The Fleet: We do not operate "old vans." You were transported in a premium, modern Mercedes Vito. An unexpected air conditioning failure is an act of nature. In the extreme Cyprus heat, our driver chose guest safety over a rigid schedule by immediately redirecting the group to a comfortable venue. The rest of the group adapted gracefully and had a fantastic night; you chose to remain disruptive. The Groundless Math: Your complaint regarding the €140 price tag is financially absurd. The booking platform takes a 25% commission right off the top. Of the remaining amount, €25 per head went directly to your brewery tasting, and a minimum of €25 went to your multi-course dinner. Once commercial passenger insurance and fuel are deducted, you entirely consumed the material value of your ticket. Demanding a refund after eating the food, drinking the beer, and utilizing the private transport is simply a request for a free night out at our expense. The Hypocrisy: Despite the breakdown being an unavoidable accident, we treated you with premium hospitality and gifted your group multiple free bottles of wine to make amends. It is deeply disappointing that you happily accepted our free gifts and hospitality on the spot, only to write a malicious review later. The Card Issue: The venue accepts all major cards daily. Blaming a local operator for a temporary local banking network or terminal glitch is entirely unreasonable. We always prioritize human safety over an itinerary. We provide a premium service, and we leave future travelers to judge the blatant unfairness and entitlement of your review.

So I ended up doing a...

    Konrad_S, May 2026
So I ended up doing a beer-tasting tour, and the first stop was a visit to a craft brewery. Andrea, who guided me through the brewery, explained everything in a warm and engaging way, and I got to try around nine excellent beers. After that, the owner, Michelle, took me to a more traditional place, where we had a Greek coffee. We then went to a lovely local restaurant, where I was the only tourist, and had a fantastic selection of regional dishes, along with plenty of time for interesting conversation. Michelle, who lived in the UK for many years and is now based in Cyprus, was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout, so I can genuinely recommend the tour.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the experience from start to finish. We’re especially pleased that the brewery visit, the local coffee stop, and the restaurant all came together to give you a genuine taste of Cyprus beyond the usual tourist spots. Andrea will be delighted to know her knowledge and storytelling made an impression, and it means a lot to hear that the personal touches throughout the day stood out to you. Creating relaxed, authentic experiences with time to enjoy good food, conversation, and local culture is exactly what we aim for, so your feedback truly means a great deal. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again in the future. Warm regards M&M Lux
