PLEASE NOTE: The Troodos mountain range spans Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia and it is in the mountainous areas of these districts that you find the rural villages of Cyprus. This tour DOES NOT visit Troodos Square and will only visit various villages within the Troodos mountain region. We keep our tours authentic by visiting true locals and because these local villagers are busy with every day life – we cannot guarantee which stops we’ll be visiting after the cheese-making workshop... I had met Loula on another tour and took a real liking to her. When I heard that the Halloumi making experience was with her, I booked straightaway. I enjoyed being involved in the whole process. The meze Loula provided was delicious, especially her orange cake. The other activities were also very interesting and enjoyable. Unfortunately, our free time in Lefkara was spoilt by torrential rain. Our driver, Demi, provided everyone with umbrellas and drove us as close as possible to venues.
Demi is very knowledgeable and respectful and funny.

From the communication to the tour, it was very well executed.
Demi, our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. You will get many photos taken for you during the tour by the guide.
You get involved in every process of the halloumi making which makes you empathise with what that family does every single day making this. The meal provided was excellent along with the cypriot coffee.
The various stops from the bee & embroidery msueum, olive farm, lace and silver to donkey farms all felt like you were getting a feel of the local land and the individual people/families.
One of a kind experience in Cyprus and would highly recommend.

Incredible Halloumi cooking class today! We spent the morning on a goat and sheep farm making fresh halloumi from a 50/50 blend of goat and sheep’s milk that we saw come off the truck. First there was the traditional halloumi and then a farmers cheese was the second set of curds that came from the boiled milk. Afterwards we ate it fresh with traditional Cypriot delicacies kibbeh, olive bread, spinach boreks, cucumber and tomato.
I always thought you fried halloumi but learned you eat it fresh. The older cheese is grilled. But the fresh is a million times better. Omg. It was so good.
After the Halloumi making class on the farm, we drove through Troodos mountains to find more agricultural delicacies including honey at a very cool bee farm and education center. Then we headed to an olive farm were we tasted more olives and oil. I discovered the very small black ones are used in oil making, and to me they were the most delicious. Others in my group did not like them but the tour guide said I had good taste! The large green ones are often flavored with coriander seeds and sometimes cut up bits of fresh lemon, which I loved. I never had either of these types olives so some of them are coming home. We then headed to Lefkara, a very famous city where the lace work is made that Da Vinci once bought and many royal families, Lefkara was absolutely beautiful and I would stay there for a few days as it was so picturesque. Then we headed to a donkey farm where we fed donkeys carob pods. They grow lots of carob here which is used in sweetner for baking or on mild cheeses. It was much better than I remember from the carob of the 1980s we had growing up. They use carob pods in feed for animals in this region too. Also we discovered that capers are just weeds on the sides of roads here, making me rethink where my favorite sandwich (lox bagel with tomato, cucumbers, red onion and capers) components come from. Overall, it was truly an awesome foodie day and would have to rank this in my top 3 best cooking classes and culinary tours in the world.
Lastly, Georgina was outstanding in all regards as a tour guide. She’s fun, authentic and truly awesome to hang with. Highly recommend her!

This tour covered so much ground. The day started off with cheese making and cheese eating. We learned the halloumi process in an intimate and authentic setting, plus, the cheese we made was absolutely delicious. We then toured a honey farm, olive farm, and donkey farm in the mountain region. At all places, we were able to sample local products. We also explored the mountain village of Lefkara and learned about it's history of lace making. Our guide, Demi, was friendly and very knowledgeable about each location. I highly recommend this tour to any visitor who wants a cultural and unique experience in Cyprus.

Wonderful tour making the cheese and then eating it fresh, along with a traditional lunch was a wonderful and informative experience that I highly recommend!
Also able to go to some local villages . Please consider purchasing a lace item from the oldest shop the craftsmanship is incredible and you will. Or find anything like it elsewhere.
Also went to a donkey farm to feed the donkeys and try donkey milk . Was also wonderful to visit an olive oil production site and a spot in a mountain village where honey and products from honey are made.
You will not regret taking this tour and the guide was wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable.
