Best tour!

I will say that this tour was the highlight of our trip to Cartagena. It was authentic, engaging, and very informative. Our tour guide, Victor, was extremely knowledgeable and clearly very proud of his culture. It showed in the way he shared the historical facts, the town, the people, and their way of life. The tour was about six hours long, but it went by very quickly, even in the blazing heat. We were really happy that we booked a tour with an actual resident of the town who was so respected by everyone. It made us feel welcomed and almost like we were part of the community for the day. The food was amazing as well. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Cartagena who wants to learn more about the Afro-Colombian community there.

Our guide Alvarito showed us all the main highlights of the walled city and took us to places we would never have found by ourselves. Our tour got off to a great start as the pick up was very punctual and Alvaro David had a natural rapport and was easy to get along with. This was a great experience, money well spent! We did the party tour and a party it was! Miguel was our guide and he did well keeping everything organized. Our captain and the other guides were very informative and friendly. They told us where to get the best deals and how to avoid the high price vendors. All the stops were great! Bring your sunscreen though, that sun is no joke. Oh, we were on a speed boat so on the way back, make sure you’re in the middle or else you will feel like you’re on a roller coaster 😩Unfortunately we were in the very front and felt every bump riding against the current and it goes fast!

This was a once in a lifetime experience for sure. The rain fall made it difficult to climb and bystanders were slipping and falling. But it was a unique experience. Our guide explained very thoroughly how the tipping works and how the native people live off this. They ask for tip for everything it’s a overwhelming but understandable. Just be ready with cash.

Lots of fun. Eddie was wonderful! Great course, can be somewhat challenging for new riders but safe and not bad--there were multiple guides with us to keep pace with everyone in the group, whether you wanted to ride fast or slow and there was also security with us as well for extra safety. Rode through woods and the beach...lovely views...multiple points to stop and take pictures and get off ATVs to stretch. Lunch was okay. Options to upgrade to lobster, shrimp, crab. About a 30 min ride to ATV location from pick-up point. Must do while in Cartagena!

Great but beware of lunch scam

Hiring a private boat is a must. Otherwise, you are in a horrible cattle call with the other operators. It was worth every penny. You will be greeted by someone that gets you to the boat and then you are out on the boat all day. You can customize where you want to go and how long to stay. It was safe. My only complaint is that the beach club where we ate lunch they asked us if we wanted to provide lunch for the boat crew of two people. We felt pressured to do this. Why wouldn’t the boat crew bring their own lunch? It’s one thing if they were sitting there with us, of course we would buy them lunch, but they were attending to the boat. It just seems like they should pack their own lunch. We felt obligated so we did send them the lunch and we were surprised it was more expensive than we were expecting. This just reduce the amount we gave them as a tip at the end. I think it’s a scam with the restaurant so maybe it should be made very clear multiple times while we are still on the boat not to fall for the scam at the beach club. It was included in the pre-departure information, but it was in the fine print and not highlighted. Seems like the boat operators would not allow this to happen. Or they should have given us a printed out piece of paper in English that clearly says we have our own lunch. Do not buy us a lunch but we appreciate your tips.

Lovely experience

Great sunset cruise and beautiful views of Cartagena. The boat is big and clean and the staff was friendly and fun. 1 complimentary drink and light appetizers. The only negative was all the young women with their selfie sticks taking photos and videos of themselves the entire time and being very obnoxious about it, but that's the way of the world now.
