What are people saying about Cartagena

Beautiful islands. Delicious Lunch. Strong drinks
Viator said the muelle fee was 34,500 COP and some dude with a fanny pack and a 3 Islas Polo charged us 41,500. Said something about taxes.
The ride was short and sweet to all 3 Islands. The water was as beautiful as the pictures. The ride back on the boat was rough. DON'T SIT IN THE FRONT, LOL!
The fresh fried fish was soo good. Coconut rice.....o.....m.....g!

Best way to celebrate July 4th for a Black Person
If you’re visiting Cartagena, do yourself a favor and book the Tour de Palenque: Road to Emancipation with La Perla Viajes y Turismo. It was, without question, one of the most meaningful travel experiences I’ve ever had.
Our guide, Romeo, was outstanding. He didn’t just give us facts, he brought history to life with passion, knowledge, and deep respect for the people and culture of San Basilio de Palenque. You could feel his pride, and it made every stop more impactful.
We experienced traditional music and dances, learned about ancestral medicine and healing practices, walked through the town while hearing the powerful story of resistance, emancipation, and the community’s ongoing commitment to preserving its language, culture, and freedom. This wasn’t just sightseeing, it was an invitation to understand a living history.
I intentionally chose this tour on July 4th, and I honestly couldn’t have picked a better way to spend the day. While many Independence Day celebrations overlook the Black experience, spending the holiday in Palenque, surrounded by a community that proudly celebrates its own history of freedom, resilience, and cultural survival, was incredibly moving. The unapologetic Black pride, joy, and sense of identity throughout the community made the day unforgettable.
Thank you to La Perla Viajes y Turismo and especially Romeo for creating an experience that was educational, inspiring, and deeply personal. I left with a greater appreciation for the history of Palenque and a renewed sense of the enduring power of freedom, culture, and community.
This is much more than a tour, it is an experience that will stay with me for a lifetime.

Great family friendly VIP tour to Rosario Islands.
We had a great experience on the VIP Rosario Island tour. Our tour guide, Juju, was friendly and organized and made sure everyone had a good time.
The islands are worth visiting. The turquoise water is beautiful.. The snorkeling was good. I recommend swim shoes as the coral can be sharp. We were not harassed by many vendors as I've read from other reviews.
The only downside was the boat ride going back home as you're traveling against the wind and it could be rough. If you are seated in the back of the boat, be prepared to get completely drenched by the waves. I recommend bringing a waterproof bag and goggles to protect your eyes from the saltwater.
Overall, it was a great day and lots of fun, and good food. I would definitely recommend the VIP tour.

Kevin is the only tour you should ever book!!
Kevin is beyond great! His entire team is out here making the vibes phenomenal and we all felt safe. The music, the stops, everything was amazing. He has certain vendors he works with that are also great people.
We had a semi private boat and even though we were only eight people, it was a party.
Definitely recommending Kevin.

Felt like family
Miguel and his crew were welcoming, fun, and informative. They made us feel like we were at home. They played music while we were island hopping which made the experience even better, not to mention the beautiful scenery along the way. I would recommend this trip for anyone but especially those who like to have fun, are social (but you don't have to be), solo , anyone who's willing to have good time

Jetski's out of control. Gasoline Beach
Great place. I have been three times. But this time the jetski's vendors were out of control . To close to the people swimming and the tour boats as well. There was no Respect for the people swimming. And the smell of gasoline was too much. Something needs to be done about this.

Great experience CTG to Bocagrande
Great communication and reasonable pricing made this a wonderful experience! We received a message from Samaria Tours the day before our flight letting us know when and how they would be in touch. On our travel day, Gloria sent a highly detailed message confirming our reservation, providing our transportation coordinator’s name, and instructions of how to find her at the airport. Our friendly coordinator Yulieth welcomed us and waited with us for our driver to arrive. We felt very well taken care of and had no stress about getting to our hotel.

Fast and fun
Really exciting. Got there a half hour early. And met our Tour Guide Jamie. Fantastic and polite young man. Who spoke good English. Had breakfast and lunch. Very good menu . Long day we'll worth it. The speed boat were very fast. So be prepared. Left on time and returned on time. Jamie really out did him self. Thanks again Viator. Great choice.

Wonderful High-Speed Boat!
The boat ride (sitting in the front three rows) was a wonderful water rollercoaster experience. Empty your bladder before boarding is a good idea. Prepare $20 for port fee.
The fried fish toward the end of tour (2pm) was nice. (Make sure that you have a good breakfast so that you can last until 2pm.)
Bring your own water.

Fun pirate ship sunset cruise
This was a really fun sunset cruise experience. The directions to the boat were very clear. We actually had to reschedule last minute due to travel delays and they were super accommodating. The boat itself is very nice and the pirate costumes make it fun. The crew were very friendly and took great pictures and videos for our group.

Enjoy the most unique and surprisingly enjoyable excursions ever!
We had a great time experiencing the Lodo Volcano Mud Bath in just outside Cartagena! It is such a unique experience! We weren't sure if we would like it, but decided to try it because it was so out of the ordinary and I'm glad we did!
Gilberto, our driver was so nice, and very informative on the hour plus drive there and back about different sites, and things taking place in and around Cartagena, and took really good care of us the entire time!
Once we arrived at the mud volcano, he introduced us to the staff that would be taking care of us. They were instrumental in helping us in and out of the mud bath, making sure we were safe ascending and defending the volcano, and helping to wash the mud off of us down in the lagoon/lake. We even chose the option to have a massage inside the mud bath, and that was awesome! The guys did such a great job! Then after we were cleaned up and had changed clothes, we had a snack with tasty homemade beef and chicken empanadas and soft drink!
It was a top notch experience from start to finish and I highly recommend you try this unique experience!
