This tour was a ton of fun! Though the Pink sea was not pink during my visit I still enjoyed the scenery. The Volcano was amazing. It let my skin nice and soft for a while. Yuliana was an amazing tour guide. I would definitely recommend this tour to other tourist.

Loved the mud volcano part of the tour. Very unique experience. The food after the tour was good too

Thank you for booking your experience with us

The tour was nice, the mud bath amazing, the cleaning ladies at the river to wash off the mud were funny although a bit aggressive with some folks for a tip... But they did such a good job washing us off and making us laugh, I had no problem tipping..

Glad we did this but probably won't do it again. The tour is exceptional and the people at the volcano are very helpful and super nice. It was the actual mud experience that was a little gross to me - mud was thick, gritty and had things floating in it. You will be touched a lot on this one, nothing inappropriate. They will help you down the ladder, push you over to the massage if you wish to be massaged (we didn't), then will wipe the excess mud off you before you get all the way out and then when you go to the lake the rinse off, the ladies there will help you rinse off. Nothing was uncomfortable for us, just a little surprising.

the mud soak was an experience could have done without the salt sea lunch was excellent
overall a good tour

The information was interesting. The natural wonders fascinating. The bus ride was horrible - hot. AC did not work. Important to make customers aware of stairs for handicap participants. Great lunch and nice people.

Constant communication- pick up times and possible changes. Any questions answered pretty quickly. Tour guide Yulianna was outstanding. Driver Osvaldo was a safe driver and would check on us if anything he could do.
Lunch was delicious- super friendly.

Great experience, so different and fun. The only downside I would say is the bus that was sent for the tour was terrible! Hot, and it even broke down, and was overheating! Nice lunch included. Unfortunately when we went, to the water too see the pink, it wasn’t pink. They said it was due to the weather.

Dipping into a weightless environment in the mud was quite unique.
It is difficult to describe the feeling, but it’s also something that you will never do again probably

I was looking at a private transportation group but the date wasn’t available so I went with this tour. Not only was it cheaper but everything was great! Yuliana wrote me to let me know when she was on her way…stopped at a museum and explained the mud volcano. She had lockers with the key so your belongings were locked and only opened them back up when you were done. She lets you know if you have the locals take pics, give you a massage and rinse you off they expect a tip but you can decline the services. We also stopped at a nice restaurant where lunch was included. If your thinking of booking it please do it was great.

Was not a volcano, was a man made mud bath. Nothing special. Was not given the option of saying no to the people doing massages and cleaning you. Was very uncomfortable. The women cleaning you in the lake were very aggressive and un did your top without asking. Felt very violated. The van trip was horrible, 1-2 hours in a minivan absolutely packed in, was sitting knees to my chest, AC didn’t work in the back so we were dripping sweat. Nearly passed out from how cramped and hot it was. Do not recommend. Not work the money or time.

The pink sea wasn't pink due to heavy rainfall. Hasn't been pink for 3 months which they let us know after we had paid and 12 hours before being collected. Visited the salt lakes anyway which was a bit pointless. Mud volcano was nice hounded by locals for everything and anything

Excellent adventure, it's a must visit. The food was really delicious, the tour guide was sweet, and the adventure was well worth it.
Daniel_G, Jul 2023
To get the most out of this experience, it’s better to go outside of Cartagena’s rainy season as the rain washed away the pink sea. The Museum tour part was interesting. The volcano spa itself was a nice experience but it’s good to note that the locals who ‘assist’ in your mud bath experience will be asking for tips. Definitely still something to experience while in Cartagena!

The tour itself was nice but the accommodations for the ride were subpar. The vehicle we were in had a tire problem when we were picked up and we had to stop multiple times to get air instead of them requesting a new vehicle or replacement tire. Also the A/C did not work well at all.
The tour advised there would be a bilingual tour guide however the tour guide spoke very little English can say we learned very much. Also the Pink Sea was not pink due to heavy rains which was explained prior to us going so I had no issue with that part.
I only said I would recommend this tour because I'm sure it would have been much better if the things I explained earlier had been different. I enjoyed the mud volcano part very much.

The volcano / bath was super amazing the lunch was excellent. The rest of the tour wasn't worth it. I could of did without. But total recommend totuna volcano

Yucky and Fun At The Same Time! Loved It. The Mud Wa Warm and You Will Float And At The End, The Ladies Bathe You In The River. Be Prepared To Remove Your Top or Bottoms. Lol. You Sun Will Feel So Soft After.
Enjoy!

This excursion is not worth over the $50 we paid for my adult daughter and I. Besides meeting some great other tourist, my daughter and I felt this was on the gross side. We definitely did not want the mud guys touching us. Then when rinsing off in the swamp, I got bit by something so my leg was bleeding. I would recommend rinsing quickly, don't go out to far, and hit the showers instead. We did not care for the food, either. Rice was very sweet, 1 bite of the salad, and meat (chicken salty, fish for me was not that great.). Did not seem like the guides enjoyed there job at all.

the experience was great. there was a lot of rain when we got to the volcano so i took a rain bath. when it stopped we were escorted to the volcano. that experience was amazing but. you have to be careful or you will float to the top and your legs will be up to the top.
The locals make sure your ok. from helping you up to the top and into and out of the volcano to getting washed to clean up. Lunch was good @local restaurant Tesores del Mar 😋.

That was an amazing journey … Liliana the person in charge was unique so friendly and always be alert of us. Traveling with my family and friends we always felt safe.

The tour itself was amazing, a beautiful view. The mud bath was everything and more; however, we ended up on a small van that had mold in it. The two tour guides did not introduce themselves nor did they speak during the ride. On the way back the tire explored (rotten tired) they refused to call for help. They didnt want us to get out the van or turn it off while they attempted to change the tires. It took them almost an hour to change it as they didn’t have the tools needed.

This tour was great. From the guides to the people on the bus. They made sure we were safe and if we had any questions we could ask. The food included was at a cute restaurant and delicious. For the mud bath it can get crowded, however upon request the men giving the massages let us wait for more people to leave for more space. It is a once in a lifetime experience and i would definitely reccommend you going. The pink sea wasn't pink but there was still so much culture we got to see and experience around it. The guides did wonderful. Bring pesos for little snacks, tips and such and the guide will distribute it to the shops and people for purchases to avoid crowding. Overall we really enjoyed this.

Please adhere to the reviews. Everyone is consistently telling the truth lol. Yes we were picked up on time which is great. The bus we had no issues. Not sure if it was an off day or this was the norm but our tour guide was lacking. Yikes. We weren’t told we were going to be making this many stops along the way. It took us almost two hours to get to the mud bath. We stopped at the museum which I get. It would of been better if the guide had more energy and enthusiasm. At times the group was confused as to where to go next.
The pink river wasn’t pink which is OK and they tell you before so no worries.
Finally we get to the mud bath and it was kind of chaotic. Our tour guide disappeared and left us to the vultures aggressively asking for tips and payments for the simply things
The “locker” room is OPEN shelves where you have to store your things! Buy a lock beforehand as I saw some guests already knew smh.
You are only allowed ONE cell phone per group and there’s a man charging to take photos and videos. The walk up to the bath is STEEP.
When you get up there someone is offering to hold your shoes. He will also charge you at the end. You can stay in the bath as long as you walk then after you can wash off at the river
Again people offering services for tips at the end. YOU CAN WASH YOURSELVES OFF. Don’t fall for the trap
Again no tour guide in sight
The food at the restaurant was great.
Please be mindful of the tipping which ruined the experience for us

The overall trip was great. Our tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable and punctual. They texted us several times to give us time stamps for pick-up and even let us know that the pink sea wasn’t going to be so pink the day of the tour.
Before you go to the pink sea, you stop at a small museo. There, you’re given a brief bilingual tour about the history of the area.
The mud bath at Totumo is relaxing, refreshing and invigorating. What’s not, is the mounds of people in the vicinity aggressively asking for tips. We were even asked for a tip for using the outhouse, by someone who assisted in no manner.
A few other things to note about Totumo:
When scaling the mud volcano, you are asked to remove your shoes. This may cause unease for people who have texture/touch issues.
Inside the volcano there are people who will massage the mud onto you. This may also cause unease for the aforementioned group.
After you walk down the volcano, there is a walkway to the river where you can clean off the mud. My recommendation is to clean it off yourself. If you can’t, then have someone you’re traveling with do it—or just don’t let Yolanda clean you.
“Edelsi was great”—according to one of the people in our group.

The sea wasn't pink and we didn't know that it's only pink during the summer. The tour guide didn't explain what makes the sea pink or the mining process. The mud volcano experience was great.

The mud bath and the salt lake. It was a good experience to try while you are in cartagena. The food was good too

Unfortunately, my experience with this tour was extremely disappointing. First, the bus was almost an hour late to pick us up. Second, the guides were doing less than the bare minimum in terms of keeping us informed of what was going on, where we were going, why we were stopping, etc. Before arriving at the volcano, we made two stops (local museum and salt mine) which felt like fillers. No effort was made to make the tour engaging whatsoever (the guide was reading the info from her cellphone). The mud volcano was pretty cool, but full of people, and we could only stay about 5-10 minutes before the next group came in. Overall felt like a waste of a day.
Alan_H, Feb 2023
First, the volcano mud experience was awesome--so unique and so much fun. The locals were super friendly and helpful, snapping pics, giving massages, and the women with buckets all over me removing as much caked mud off my body.
However, the tour to the small town was a waste of time, no real impacting education, and the visit to the pink beach was just a lackluster experience. Was forewarned that due to recent weather conditions the beach/water was not pink---yes, I get that. But the walk to the water was filled with trash and just not fun to walk through to get to the 'beach' area.

Great guides and very friendly people. The end. The place is awfully neglected. If a make its living out of tourists, it should be better.
Estupendos guías y el personal en general. El resto una porquería. Absolutamente descuidado e incómodo. Deberían cuidarlo más ya que viven del turismo.
