Great tour! Jaime was a gem and the group was small (~15?) and fun:) Snorkeling was good - lots of fish - and beaches were quite private. Good food, beautiful locations and a great boat ride = great way to spend the day!

Really exciting. Got there a half hour early. And met our Tour Guide Jamie. Fantastic and polite young man. Who spoke good English. Had breakfast and lunch. Very good menu . Long day we'll worth it. The speed boat were very fast. So be prepared. Left on time and returned on time. Jamie really out did him self. Thanks again Viator. Great choice.

Cartagena snorkel for 6

Melissa_D, Apr 2026
Our crew lead was very energetic and helpful during the tour, he was attentive to our needs during the introduction and safety segments as well as while having lunch and snacks at the beautiful destination points of the Rosario Islands. He encouraged a beach game to play and made sure we had what we needed for food and drink. It was a nice touch to receive a cotton woven bracelet at the end of the tour. The first segment of snorkel was enjoyable with good visibility lasting at least 45 minutes, however there was a shortage of about 5 masks and snorkels for the participants. The crew rushed to gather more from another boat and we still were short about 1 and the mouthpieces/snorkel was broken on 3 of them. We recommend bringing your own if possible. For the second segment of snorkeling after the snack, we were brought to a deeper reef which by the afternoon was tough visibility and quite bare even though the team leads tried to hunt down SeaLife for us to look at. With the broken mouthpieces and bleached reef and only a 15 minute visit, it was a bit disappointing and felt rushed. Be sure to bring a first aid kit as one person in our group cut their foot on the propeller of the motor while getting back in the boat. (The motor was stopped but it was an accident). Luckily there was a nurse on board who dressed the wound and took care of the patient. The boat crew didn't have anything on board such as a first aid kit. I do recommend this tour, but I hope there might be some improvements for future groups enjoyment and value.

Fast and fun

Not enough masks and snorkels, no sanitization

Tracy_F, Mar 2026
There were 28 people on the boat (crowded) and they did not have enough gear for everyone. Got to the first snorkel site and found out 3 people wouldn't have masks and snorkels. They had to wait 20 min for the crew to run and borrow more. Snorkel gear wasn't in the best shape either (leaking snorkels). They also took back the equipment after the first snorkel and I saw no signs of sanitizing (gross) when they handed back out again. Honestly I would give this a 1 star rating but the beach sites were pretty and the food was really good. Would recommend only if you bring your own gear.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We take all reviews seriously, but it’s also important to clarify the situation so future guests have an accurate understanding of the experience we provide. Your tour took place on March 20th during high season. While we did have a full group, the boat assigned was a large, modern 2026 vessel specifically designed to accommodate that number of guests comfortably. We do not operate overcrowded tours, and space, safety, and comfort are always priorities. Onboard, there were four dedicated crew members — a guide, captain, co-captain, and guide assistant — whose role is to actively support guests throughout the entire day. This includes assisting with activities, responding to needs, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. In addition, cleanliness is a constant priority. The boat is continuously maintained throughout the tour. After each stop, the crew cleans and organizes the space — floors are mopped, sand is removed, and seating areas are reset — so guests return to a clean and comfortable environment. This is a standard part of our operation and something we take seriously. Regarding the snorkeling equipment, we understand that this was your main concern. However, it’s important to clarify that this is something that could have been resolved immediately during the tour. We have access to additional equipment and solutions, including sourcing extra gear if needed. If any mask was not functioning properly, our team would have replaced it right away. This is exactly why we emphasize communication during the experience. Our crew is there to help, but we cannot resolve an issue in the moment if it is not brought to our attention. The second snorkeling session, for example, typically has fewer participants and would have allowed for an improved experience as well. We also want to address the request for a refund. While we understand your frustration, we cannot issue refunds for situations that could have been resolved on-site with immediate communication, especially when the full experience — including transportation, crew service, island stops, and meals — was delivered. It’s worth noting that you did enjoy key aspects of the tour, including the beaches and the food, as well as the private, vendor-free locations we carefully select — which are a major part of what differentiates our experience from many others in Cartagena. Our goal is always to provide a high-quality, well-organized experience and to ensure every guest has a great day. We are always open to feedback, but we also encourage guests to communicate any concerns during the tour so we can actively make adjustments in real time — whether it’s equipment, dietary preferences, or any other need. We appreciate your feedback and wish you safe and enjoyable travels moving forward. Best regards, Pana Tours Colombia

So much fun!

First time in Colombia with my fiancée, and this tour was so much fun! Jaime and the rest of the crew were so educated and enjoyable to be around. Can’t beat the views and delicious food either.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you so much for choosing to spend part of your first trip to Colombia with us — that truly means a lot! 🇨🇴✨ We’re so happy to hear that you and your fiancée had such a fun experience. Jaime and the entire crew work very hard to make each day special, so it’s wonderful to know their energy and knowledge made a positive impact on your visit. And we couldn’t agree more — the views and the food are hard to beat! 🌊☀️ We hope this was the first of many visits to Colombia, and we would love to welcome you both back anytime.

Jamin is a amazing Guide....

Jamin is a amazing Guide. The trip is a perfect mixture of adventure and chill. Would definitly Go again.

Thank you so much for your kind words! 🌊☀️ We’re so happy you enjoyed the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation — that balance is exactly what we aim to create on every tour. And yes, Jaime truly is an amazing guide! 😊 We’ll be sure to pass along your feedback to him — it will mean a lot. We would absolutely love to have you join us again anytime you’re back in Colombia!

Great boat and snorkel, okay logistics, VIP is a stretch but still enjoyable

Benjamin_Z, Feb 2026
Pros: Nice boat in excellent condition with a skilled driver, clear safety precautions followed, delicious fried fish, the second snorkel stop was incredible, beautiful blue water, opportunity to buy tropical drinks, relaxed atmosphere without a party vibe, bathrooms available at island stops; Cons: Pickup location was changed and the organizer only notified guests who booked through a different platform, guide did not have a sign or clear branding at the meeting point, lunch was served very late (2:40 p.m.), time estimates (“we’re leaving in…”) were frequently inaccurate, some snorkel masks need replacement, island stops were pleasant but did not feel truly “VIP”; Good to know: The upcharge for one snack and drinks was widely considered poor value, the number of snorkel and island stops varies by day (we had two snorkel stops and two island stops), most island stops are informal restaurant-style homes with lounge chairs rather than sandy beaches, boats play pre-recorded informational audio in English, many guests were older but the experience is suitable for all ages, sunscreen must be reapplied frequently, the one-hour ride each way is very loud due to engine noise.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the boat condition, safety standards, snorkeling experience, and overall atmosphere of the tour. Regarding the pickup communication, we are reviewing internal procedures to ensure that any location updates are consistently shared across all booking platforms. Clear coordination at the start of the day is important to us. We also take note of your comments on lunch timing and equipment condition. Operational flow can vary slightly depending on weather and maritime traffic, but we continuously work to maintain quality standards and keep equipment in good condition. We appreciate the constructive feedback and are committed to continually refining the experience for future guests.

deception

Yunona_B, Feb 2026
At 7:59 AM, I received a text message saying the meeting was scheduled for 8:15 AM, not 8:30 AM as stated when I purchased the tour. We arrived at 8:30 AM, but no one was there and no one knew about the tour.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for sharing your feedback. For clarity, this tour has a meeting time of 8:15 a.m., clearly stated on the official ticket at the time of purchase, with a departure at 8:30 a.m. The early meeting time exists to provide guests with a reasonable buffer and to ensure an organized, punctual departure. High-quality, premium tours operate on schedule. When guests purchase a high-end experience, they are also paying for punctuality, structure, and respect for the time of all participants. For this reason, the group waited until approximately 8:35 a.m., after which the boat departed as planned. Our team was present at the designated meeting point, which is a very specific and clearly defined location where we are the only tour group that gathers. Your first message was received at 8:46 a.m., at which point the tour had already departed. Regarding the statement that “no one was there” and that “no one knew about the tour”: by the time you arrived, the group had already left. Additionally, it is important to note that passersby or unrelated individuals at the dock would naturally not be aware of a private tour booking. For any assistance, guests are always encouraged to contact the company they booked with, not strangers at the location. We provide multiple contact options (including WhatsApp and the Viator app) precisely for this purpose. If no one knew about the tour, it would be difficult to explain how it operates daily, departs on time, and maintains the strong reputation and volume of excellent reviews that led you to book with us in the first place. We fully understand that missing a tour is disappointing. However, operating on time is not a lack of service—it is a core part of delivering a professional, high-standard experience and honoring our commitment to all other guests who arrived as instructed. It is admittedly unfortunate for a business with consistently excellent reviews to need to respond primarily to situations involving late arrival or lack of prior communication, rather than the quality of the tour itself. We encourage future travelers to carefully review their tickets, arrive within the indicated time window, and reach out in advance if they have any questions. Doing so ensures a smooth experience for everyone involved. Kind regards, Pana Tours Colombia

Wonderful Island Hopping

Pouya_A, Feb 2026
This was such a fantastic experience. The islands that we stopped at were beautiful and calm and the drinks, snacks, and lunch were very delicious. It was my first time snorkeling and the two spots that we stopped at were the highlights of the tour for me. Our guide and the whole crew where amazingly kind people with the best energy. The ride back to Cartagena is not the smoothest, but that is the case for all of these tours.

Great experience

Jonathan_F, Feb 2026
Great experience with Jaime. He’s personable, very attentive to everyone’s needs and made the trip enjoyable.

Worth every penny!!!

Binel_M, Dec 2025
One of the best tours I’ve been in Cartagena, I see why they have a badge of excellence on Viator. The food was so fresh and delicious(arepa, tostones, ceviche for snack and fried fish with coconut rice for lunch).Lastly, Jaime fue espectacular. Gracias!!!!

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are truly honored by your kind words and especially grateful for your recognition of our Badge of Excellence on Viator. This distinction is the result of the consistent trust and positive feedback from guests like you, and it motivates us to maintain the highest standards in every experience we offer. We are delighted to know you enjoyed the freshness and quality of the food, from the snacks to the traditional lunch. We also greatly appreciate your comments about Jaime—he is an essential part of our team, and we will be sure to share your message with him. Gracias por destacarlo. Thank you again for choosing Pana Tours Colombia. We look forward to welcoming you back to Cartagena for another exceptional experience.

The experience was nice,...

Michael_M, Nov 2025
The experience was nice, but the guide, Camilo, was not engaged at all. He spoke English, but instead played pre-recorded notes to explain the sights. The enthusiasm from the leader you expect with these types of tours was definitely lacking.

Just as we feared…

Karen_K, Aug 2025
This was not a party boat experience, but it was also not a day spent snorkeling, enjoying coral reefs, and checking out mangroves as advertised in the VIP package we purchased. Rather, we only spent about 30 minutes snorkeling for the entire day, and we spent the rest of the time at two different beach locations where we could buy a massage, nap in a hammock, or order drinks - which the crew and captain also seemed to be taking part in. Chill time is fine, but for us the day was really disappointing and not at all the experience the company described.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. Normally, the VIP tour includes two snorkeling sessions, but on the day of your visit, the ocean conditions were tougher than usual. For the safety of our guests, we decided to limit it to one session. Safety is always our top priority, even when it means adjusting the original plan. Regarding drinks and food, our tours are all-inclusive. Guests don’t need to make additional purchases unless they wish to enjoy something extra at the beach clubs we visit. The stops are designed to give travelers the chance to relax, enjoy the scenery, or add optional experiences like a massage if they choose. We truly wish the weather had been better that day, as we frequently carry out two snorkeling sessions when conditions allow, and guests often highlight this as a favorite part of the tour. We appreciate your comments, as they help us improve how we communicate and operate. We hope we’ll have the chance to welcome you again under better conditions and provide the full experience we’re known for.

Amazing time- must do!

Marilyn_O, Aug 2025
My son and I had a great time on this VIP snorkeling trip. Our tour guide - John was very nice and made sure we were all having a good time. Thank you for a great experience to the beautiful island of Rosario!

Very well organized. Highly recommend

Abdelilah_E, Jul 2025
The tour was very good, well organized, not crowded, staff very nice and helpful, I highly recommend.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to know you enjoyed the tour and appreciated the organization and care from our team. We always strive to create a relaxed, personalized experience without the crowds, so we're thrilled that stood out to you. Your recommendation truly motivates us to keep giving our best. Wishing you many more great adventures ahead! 🌴

Bad Tour Experience

Laura_S, Jun 2025
This snorkeling tour was a complete disappointment. Instead of taking us to a beautiful beach with white sand, we ended up at a rocky area with no real beach at all — just sharp stones and garbage scattered around. It felt dirty and neglected, nothing like the paradise we were promised. To make matters worse, there was no information shared about the natural environment, the marine life, or even basic safety instructions. It felt totally unprofessional. The tour guide spent more time talking about his personal business ventures, which disturbingly included inappropiate content — completely uncomfortable, especially in a group setting. The only redeeming part of the day was the other people in the group — friendly and fun despite the circumstances. But overall, this was by far the worst tour I've ever been on. I would never recommend it to anyone. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. While we always appreciate constructive feedback, we feel it's important to clarify and correct some significant inaccuracies in your review. First and foremost, the tour you participated in is exactly what is described and shown on our TripAdvisor listing — including the stops at a private island house, a beach restaurant, and two opportunities for snorkeling. These locations are clearly presented through photos and previous guest reviews, which consistently highlight the beauty and authenticity of the experience we offer. Suggesting that the locations are full of garbage and sharp rocks is not only misleading, but also deeply unfair to the local communities we support and the environment we actively work to protect. Regarding the snorkeling gear, we always explain the importance of handling the equipment responsibly, as these items are part of the experience for all guests and can be difficult to replace locally. When a tube was lost during your session, our guide kindly explained that we had to charge for it — a standard and transparent policy which is shared beforehand. We encourage accountability from all guests, and this is not a hidden fee. As for the comment about inappropriate conversation: this is something we take very seriously. After speaking with Jaime, our tour guide, he explained that the subject in question was brought up casually by someone else in the group, not by him. He nevertheless expressed regret if anything said made you uncomfortable and offered a sincere apology on the spot. Jaime is one of our most well-reviewed and trusted guides, known for his professionalism and respectful demeanor — as reflected by the dozens of glowing reviews we receive about him. Lastly, we were surprised to hear you mention during the tour that you'd leave a negative review unless certain conditions were met. Threats of this nature not only harm honest tourism operators like us, but also damage the integrity of platforms like TripAdvisor, which exist to reflect real, balanced traveler experiences. We work hard every day to provide authentic, high-quality tours that reflect the beauty of Cartagena and the Rosario Islands. Thousands of happy guests and hundreds of excellent reviews speak to the care and passion we put into our work. We hope that future travelers take the time to read the full range of feedback and judge for themselves the level of service we provide. Wishing you all the best in your future travels

Great day!!!

Keith_M, Jun 2025
It was a very nice trip. Tour guide Jonathan was excellent. Would definitely recommend this excursion.

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the trip and that Jonathan made a great impression — he truly loves what he does. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back soon for another unforgettable experience in the Rosario Islands! Warm regards, The Pana Tours Colombia Team

Not for us!

Jerry_H, Jun 2025
The tour was well coordinated and the speedboat comfortable. Meals provided were reasonable. Our concern was that the Islands were very disappointing and the last stop was truly horrible - mixture of refuse tip and drunk party. Snorkling equipment was old and very poor quality.

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad to hear you found the coordination smooth and the speedboat comfortable — we always aim to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that the natural conditions of some of the islands did not meet your expectations. The Rosario Islands are part of a protected national park, and while most of the areas we visit are privately managed and maintained, there can be occasional environmental factors — especially during high season — that are beyond our control. That said, we work closely with local communities to keep the areas clean and safe, and we’re continuously improving based on feedback like yours. Regarding the snorkeling equipment, we do our best to maintain our gear in good condition, but we understand your concern. We will be reviewing and updating some of the equipment to ensure all guests feel confident and comfortable using it. We take all comments seriously and appreciate the opportunity to grow. If you ever decide to give us another chance, we’d be happy to show you the best of what this beautiful region has to offer.

Great experience

Dylan_R, May 2025
This was a great trip. Good mix of chill and fun. Jaime our tour guide was very attentive and welcoming. He speaks Spanish but is learning English and is able to accommodate English speakers. Food was great and we made two stops on different private islands. The water and weather were great. The drinks were good as well. Thank you Jaime!

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Thank you so much for this kind review! We're really happy to hear you enjoyed the balance between relaxing and fun — that’s exactly what we aim for. Jaime will be so glad to know you appreciated his attention and effort to connect with everyone, no matter the language. He's working hard on his English and it means a lot to see that recognized. Glad you enjoyed the food, drinks, and those beautiful island stops. ¡Gracias a ti por venir!

Lovely day on the water in Cartagena!

Madison_M, Apr 2025
The communication for the meeting point was clear, and then the day was very nice! We took the boat out, snorkeled, had lunch at a lovely place, and then went to a more private part of the beach for swimming and relaxation. The only thing I would say to be aware of is that the boat has just enough room for everyone to sit down. There will not be a lot of space for laying out, tanning, etc. If you have a hat, tuck it away while the boat is riding as it will blow away. For the price, experience, and comfort, this was a good experience.

Really great experience!...

Sage_S, Mar 2025
Really great experience! Jaime was wonderful! The snorkeling was great and the fried fish was the best I had on my trip! The only downside is the ride back got a little choppy and we were hanging on for dear life, but we got back safely with great memories!

No snacks for us

Wanda_D, Mar 2025
The details clearly list snacks and drinks as being included but upon arrival we learned that it was included for everyone else but not us so I am still confused as to why snacks and drinks were not included for us.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

good morning, your voucher literally states no snacks no drinks, and you paid less for the tour because you chose that package, so I don't understand why you state no snacks for us when you chose that package and you received what you paid for. Make sure you read what you bought instead of blaming the operator, it was just not included and you chose the option NO SNACKS/ NO DRINKS and the voucher has that title when you bought and chose the option, anyone that book will see there are 3 options, VIP Includes everything, NO SNACKS NO DRINKS that as the title states it doesn't include snacks or drinks and the Spa option that includes a 30 minute massage, so your rating is just out of reality, don't expect to get more than what you pay for. I wish I could attach a photo but when you book the title states before paying the option you chose, so its actually very easy to understand : Island Hopping no Snack/Drinks Not all inclusive: This option does not include, snacks or cocktails.

Great experience.

Chris_P, Mar 2025
Excellent time with an outstanding crew. The islands are beautiful. Fun full day trip. Highky recommended.

Would recommend!

GRACE_L, Mar 2025
This snorkel experience was great! Went to a few beach clubs, but the waves were super choppy so just remember to take some meds if you get sea sick. Overall very nice guides, good food, and good vibes. Would definitely recommend if you are going to Cartagena!

Amazing way to spend the day

Debra_B, Mar 2025
Full day experience, boat ride to the islands, two snorkeling, excursions two islands and a sandbar. All of this was fantastic. Ride was about 45 minutes ago of rapid boat travel. Islands were safe and beautiful

A wonderful day on and in the water!

Andrea_W, Mar 2025
Great fun getting to the snorkeling location and spending time on and in the water. The driver of the boat did a wonderful job and the guide had a lot of knowledge and the food was extremely tasty. They were all concerned, too, about our safety, which was important to me,

Not bad

Krista_L, Mar 2025
It was overall a nice trip. When the boat passed the fort they stopped and played us a recording of some information about their history. Then we went snorkeling for about 30 minutes. There were some fish and coral, not the most vibrant but still cool to see. The beach stop after was okay, some hammocks to lounge in and we were given snacks there. Then we went to another beach (club?) where we had lunch and swam for a bit. The boat ride back was bumpy but not terrible. I saw in other reviews that some snorkeled near the sunk airplane, but we did not. Overall it’s a nice option if you don’t want too much of a party experience and more want to lounge on the islands. The guides were nice enough but mostly there to keep you safe and moving through the stops, they didn’t provide commentary and the only historical info was delivered through a pre made recording. I also would have liked more snorkeling time.

Don’t go with PANA tours

Rutul_S, Mar 2025
Please don’t take this tour, people were nice but it was very disorganized, they did not give any history or commentary, just took us to a place to do snorkel where there were no fish at all, than took to a place for some snacks where they charge you ridiculous amount for drinks after snacks the immediately took you for lunch where there was no activities or any beach area, they did not take us to 5 island or better snorkel place all and all was wasted of time and money

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Hello sir we checked on the day of the tour and about the snorkel session, as we already mentioned and I described on the tour details, the second snorkel depends on the ocean conditions, because safety is very important when we do this. Also there are fish when you do the whole route, but in your case since you didn't know how to swim the only option is to snorkel near the boat with the safety rope, so maybe that's why you didn't see as much fish as the rest of the group, and its a must to know how to swim to do the snorkel session, its the ocean so for that reason this a security measure we won't change. About history and commentary we have audios that explain some information and the tour guides compliment the information, if you didn't hear any info you could always ask one of the tour guides and he would have explained in detail or answered your questions. On the first island you had 2 cocktails that are included and the cocktails they offer are not ridiculous, you are at a national park at a totally private house, you don't have to buy cocktails if you see them as pricey, but you had the 2 cuba libres as mentioned that are included, the place for lunch actually has a small volleyball field to play, also swimming and lounging area, we do not offer anything else but what is mentioned on the tour, and mot importantly this is not a 5 island tour, so I don't know where you get the part where you say we didn't take you to 5 islands, its important to read what you buy instead of blaming the operator for things we don't offer and in no area you will see we say we go to 5 islands, the best thing is to read the tour description so you can buy the right tour and avoid a bad time for yourself and the operator since its not our fault you have different expectations that as I mentioned before we do not offer. We have great reviews for a reason and you should read the tour you bought and the description before posting miss-informative reviews that don't reflect the reality of what we do. Important : This is not a 5 island tour, please read the tour title and description to avoid thinking you are buying something we cannot fulfill since this a completely different and unique experience.

Rosario islands

TheresaLerner, Feb 2025
You need to be prepared for possible rough waters.but these guys know their stuff. William and Freddie were excellent and Santiago knows how to steer a boat. The waters were beautiful. The food was great. Our group was a blast. Low key and wonderful.

Fun trip, excellent guides, rough ride back.

Shannon_R, Feb 2025
Trip was a lot of fun. William and Eric were great and very knowledgeable. Snorkeled in 2 places - the second was close to the rocks, but a lot of fish. Lunch was good. The island visits very relaxing. Boat ride back was extremely bumpy - probably would have not gone had I realized how rough it was on my back/neck.
