What are people saying about Argentina

High end food and wine experience paired with good value
Excellent hosts and excellent food. Made cocktails and empenadas and had fabulous food and wine served up to us. Host was very welcoming and good fun, also so knowledgable. I attended as a solo, but the host ensured that everyone interacted comfortably. This is held in a high quality restaurant and I would highly recommend for a true experience of Argentinian food, wine and hospitality.

Fun and memorable experience in Buenos Aires
Taking a tango class in Buenos Aires was such a fun and memorable experience, especially as it took place both on my birthday and during our honeymoon. Our instructor, Gabriela - who warmly introduced herself as Gaby - was patient, encouraging and made the lesson accessible even for us as complete beginners. She created such a relaxed and supportive atmosphere that any initial nerves quickly disappeared. We even took photos together and she kindly filmed a video of us dancing, which is such a lovely keepsake from the day.
Beyond learning the steps themselves, we truly appreciated discovering more about the tango culture. There is something incredibly intimate and passionate about the dance.
We left smiling, slightly more coordinated than when we arrived, and completely charmed by the experience. This was definitely not the last time we danced tango in our lives.

Great!
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, intimate, and genuinely welcoming. It’s a small class, which makes a huge difference—you’re not just watching, you’re actually part of the experience. The host created such a relaxed environment that it felt more like being invited into someone’s home than attending a formal class.
Learning how to make empanadas from scratch was both fun and surprisingly approachable. We got hands-on with every step, from preparing the filling to folding the dough, and picked up tips that I’ll definitely use again. It was especially interesting to learn about the different regional styles and traditions behind them.
The wine pairing aspect elevated everything. Each empanada was thoughtfully matched with a local Argentine wine, and the explanations were clear, engaging, and never overwhelming. It gave me a whole new appreciation for how flavors can complement each other.
What really made this experience stand out was the personal touch. The group was small enough to have real conversations, ask questions, and share a lot of laughs along the way. By the end, it felt like we’d spent the evening with friends rather than in a class.
If you’re looking for something authentic, interactive, and a little more intimate than the typical tourist activity, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s the perfect blend of great food, excellent wine, and genuine connection.

A Fantastic Evening
If you have an evening spare in El Calafate, I really recommend you give this a go. Miguel and his wife were great hosts, fantastic argentinian BBQ beef and 11 like minded solo and group travellers, coming together for an awesome dinner ofcfood, wine and conversation.

Fantastic Cooking Class in Buenos Aires – Highly Recommend
Taking a cooking class at Pachamama Argentine Cooking Experience was one of the highlights of my time in Buenos Aires. The class was incredibly well organized, fun, and very hands-on from start to finish.
We started with a welcome snack while learning about the history of Argentine cuisine, which set the tone for the experience. Then we rolled up our sleeves and cooked several traditional dishes together, including chipá, regional empanadas, humita, and a delicious dulce de leche dessert. Everything was explained clearly, and the instructors made it easy and enjoyable even if you’re not an experienced cook.
What I loved most was the atmosphere. The group was small and interactive, so it felt more like cooking with friends than taking a class. The instructors were knowledgeable, funny, and shared lots of tips about Argentine food and culture along the way.
At the end we all sat down together to enjoy the meal we prepared, paired with wine, which made it feel like a true Argentine dining experience. It was a great way to meet other travelers while enjoying fantastic food.
If you’re visiting Buenos Aires and want something memorable to do, I highly recommend this class. It’s a fun way to learn about the country’s cuisine and leave with recipes you can actually recreate at home.

Fun and informative food experience
This is a relaxed group cooking experience, not intense or difficult. It is a lot of fun whilst also being very informative. We made delicious beef empanades and traditional alfajores (much better than shop purchased mass produced ones).
You learn a lot about the different techniques, ingredients and history behind them; and the regional variations.
The wine pairings were excellent and showcased the great flavours of Argentine Malbec and Torrontes wines.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an introduction to these two famous Argentine home cooked foods.

A Must Do!
Bertie and Aby were great! The wine and food complemented each other wonderfully. They gave us a nice history of Argentine regions and why certain grapes are grown where. We had great conversation about travels and other subjects. This is a must do while in Buenos Aires!

Don't assume you know
If you have never had or do not know what Mate is in the Argentinian culture, this class is for you. I was able to learn how to prepare a Mate pot correctly and understand the social "norms" around sharing one. It is not as straightforward as you might think! Thank you for a wonderful class.

Great tour, even in the pouring rain!
This was such a great activity, even in the pouring rain! Pablo was an amazing and very prepared host. We didn't have the option to reschedule, even though it was raining all day, because we were leaving for the United States in a couple of days and had no availability to switch days and time. Pablo was so prepared! He brought us both umbrellas and the tour went on as planned! It ended up just being two of us and we had a ball with Pablo. He told us a lot about the history of Buenos Aires, we had amazing wine, delicious food, and the best gelato at the end. Everything was perfect! He waited for us at the end until our Uber arrived. I absolutely recommend this tour and if you can get Pablo, you'll definitely learn a lot and enjoy yourself! 10/10!!
