This private tango class with Arts K. was the first time I truly touched and felt tango. I told myself, if you’re in Buenos Aires, you have to experience tango, not just watch it. I wanted to understand what was behind the music, the movements, and the connection between two people.
While learning my first steps, Arts was also sharing the history of tango and its music. I quickly realized tango isn’t only about remembering steps. It’s about trusting your partner enough to dance backwards without seeing where you’re going, listening with your body, and allowing yourself to be completely in the moment. Somehow, it pulls you in from the inside.
After our one-hour private lesson, Arts introduced me to the world of milongas and explained how tango nights work. And that’s when another adventure began. Experiencing a milonga among other couples and later watching tango championships up close gave me a completely different appreciation for this art.
As a woman, what fascinated me most was discovering how expressive the body can become in tango. Sometimes the movement feels like a ribbon caught by the wind, flowing freely one moment, then wrapping around and holding on with strength the next. There is softness, trust, strength, elegance, and freedom all happening at once. You’re not simply dancing. For those few minutes, two people are creating a piece of art together.
And what made this experience even more special was that it happened on my birthday. I don’t think anyone could have given me a better gift. I came to Buenos Aires wanting to experience tango once, but I’m leaving wanting to carry a little piece of it with me.

What a WONDERFUL experience!! In one short hour, Veronica Rue somehow managed to teach my son and me (with 2 left feet!) how to do the 8 steps!! I was so sad we didn’t have more time, as she made me fall in love with tango. She was so inspiring, intuitive, observant, patient, and warm with her instruction that even though I had no cash on me, I went out of my way to find a way to send her a much-deserved gratuity. We had a wonderful time. Joshua was our Tango instructor for our first lesson. He was very patient and helpful with us, showing us the basic steps to Tango. Joshua was very positive and encouraging too and we felt like we learned lots in only 1 hour! We wish we had time for more lessons but we leave BA tomorrow unfortunately. He even took videos of us so we can practise again later. Wonderful memories and we would highly recommend Joshua as a teacher.

Taking a tango class in Buenos Aires was such a fun and memorable experience, especially as it took place both on my birthday and during our honeymoon. Our instructor, Gabriela - who warmly introduced herself as Gaby - was patient, encouraging and made the lesson accessible even for us as complete beginners. She created such a relaxed and supportive atmosphere that any initial nerves quickly disappeared. We even took photos together and she kindly filmed a video of us dancing, which is such a lovely keepsake from the day.
Beyond learning the steps themselves, we truly appreciated discovering more about the tango culture. There is something incredibly intimate and passionate about the dance.
We left smiling, slightly more coordinated than when we arrived, and completely charmed by the experience. This was definitely not the last time we danced tango in our lives.

Our instructor Matias, was delightful! He made the experience very fun and productive, in such a short time! Something that stood out to me the most was that I am in a same sex relationship and my partner enjoyed the lesson with me. He was very mindful to use non gendered language when discussing both of our roles in the dance, which I imagine wasn’t easy. Matias was a fun, great and very patient teacher. Taking a tango lesson in Buenos Aires - the birthplace of tango was an unforgettable experience!
Our instructor, Arts, was fantastic: professional, engaging, and incredibly patient. There were three couples in our group, and he made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident as we learned the basics. His teaching style was clear, encouraging, and fun, which made the whole experience enjoyable even for beginners like us.
If you’re visiting Buenos Aires and want an authentic tango experience, I highly recommend taking a lesson with Arts. It was a highlight of our trip!
This was a most amazing experience. Our instructor, Arts-yes Art with an s, was so awesome. He was very patient and encouraging when he helped us with the basic steps. He explained the history of Argentine tango and how it differs from ballroom tango. A very fun lesson. We were sorry that we weren't able to stay in Buenos Aires longer so we could take a few more lessons from him. We would definitely return for a lesson with him.

Really fun experience learning Tango with a fantastic, patient and encouraging instructor. We had a great time!
Hugely enjoyable hour spent with our instructor, Arts. We all managed to acquire some basic steps and an understanding of social tango. Art was very patient (I constantly confused left and right) and adapted the playlist/tuition to include dancing the birthday waltz as one of our group was celebrating a birthday. The cake and sparkling candle display were much appreciated little touches that made the session feel extra special. Art is amazing!
This was a great experience for us. We booked three lessons and got Martin as our pacient tango-master. The best part of our Buenos Aires visit! Recommend this for everyone👍

We were beginners and Marten was exceptional. Great experience. Time flew by. I wish we were in BA longer so we could have booked another lesson.
Our instructor was very nice. He spoke understandable English, adjusted the lesson to our level of dance training and made the whole experience fun and informative. Totally worth it!

Friendly, authentic, fun and invigorating. As a non dancer you learn the basic steps and put them into a simple choreography. By then end of the lesson you’ve danced a tango! Brilliant. Gaby was an amazing teacher.

The dancing class was really fun, we enjoyed it a lot and got a good first experience with Tango.
The dancing teacher also took photos and videos of us which he wanted to send, so that we have a good souvenir. Unfortunatly we never got those.
This experience was a gift to my sister and her friends during their stay in BA. They absolutely loved the tango class and raved about the kindness, patience, and skill of their instructor, Grabriela.
The company replied promptly to all inquiries and did an excellent job finding a studio as close as possible to where my sister and friends stayed. I couldn't be more satisfied by the experience from beginning to end.
Art was a very good dancer and was kind, considerate, and patient. Would definitely take another class with him!
