From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, intimate, and genuinely welcoming. It’s a small class, which makes a huge difference—you’re not just watching, you’re actually part of the experience. The host created such a relaxed environment that it felt more like being invited into someone’s home than attending a formal class. Learning how to make empanadas from scratch was both fun and surprisingly approachable. We got hands-on with every step, from preparing the filling to folding the dough, and picked up tips that I’ll definitely use again. It was especially interesting to learn about the different regional styles and traditions behind them. The wine pairing aspect elevated everything. Each empanada was thoughtfully matched with a local Argentine wine, and the explanations were clear, engaging, and never overwhelming. It gave me a whole new appreciation for how flavors can complement each other. What really made this experience stand out was the personal touch. The group was small enough to have real conversations, ask questions, and share a lot of laughs along the way. By the end, it felt like we’d spent the evening with friends rather than in a class. If you’re looking for something authentic, interactive, and a little more intimate than the typical tourist activity, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s the perfect blend of great food, excellent wine, and genuine connection.

We were met by "Flower" not real name but what she asked us to call her. She was so engaging and intetesting. We were maybe lucky that it was just Flower, my partner and me. Great experience making Empanadas and drinking wine. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience

Palermo Soho Empanada Class

ERNEST_S, Feb 2026
The class was a very nice outing. The chef, Valentine, did a great job explaining the process to make an empanada and provided an informative set of points about Argentinian wine. The attendees actually do not make the empanada crust and the fillings are cooked in a pot on an induction stove (the pictures for this activity are not accurate based on our experience). The attendees do cut up the vegetables and the meat for the filling of the empanadas and learn how to properly fold an empanada for baking. Again, it was a very nice time. Many thanks to the host and the chef.

This was a great empanada cooking class; I enjoyed it from minute one. The group was amazing and the location beautiful. Wines were delicious (Now I know why Argentinean wines are famous). 100% recommended.

Do it!

This was a very cool experience made exceptional by our host who even made us a few cups of mate. The wine was good and the empanadas we made were good too!

Great class, great empanadas, GREAT experience.

We had a wonderful time. The diverse group was so great: people from Canada, the UK, Norway and at least Germany. From the very beginning we had fun and we got the opportunity to learn from our coach Deborah how to make delicious empanadas. She did it in a very nice way. We learned a lot about wine from Argentina, too. We highly recommend this class. A special thanks to Deborah’s colleague, she did a great job and was sooooo nice!

We had a really fun experience learning to make empanadas with Lourdes. She made all the instructions really easy to follow, and the end result was really delicious. It was also just the 2 of us in the class so it was nice to be able to ask lots of questions and chat while also tasting delicious Argentinian wines!

Worth every penny and moment

What an amazing experience! We loved the location and the "guides" were fantastic. We had fun chopping and mixing and definitely eating the final product! The wine tasting while the empanadas were cooking was great. Would definitely recommend this activity one day if you are visiting BA.

A Great Time with Empanads and Wine!

Ronald_R, Dec 2024
Tomas was an excellent host and teacher. The experience was hands-on and even this non-cooker learned and enjoyed the event. His knowledge about Argentina's wines was impressive (as were the four wines provided). While we were the only two in our class, we observed the end of another class with a dozen or so people and it was evident they had a great time too. The site was a $8 USD cab ride from our downtown hotel next to the Waldorf.

Great way to spend an afternoon!!

Samantha_W, Oct 2024
We would give Tomas 10 stars if we could. Since it is low season and was Mother’s Day it ended up being a cooking class for just the 2 of us but the experience was not changed at all. Great cooking information and details. Great conversation. Good wines. And our empanadas were awesome if I say so myself. Highly recommend!

The experience from beginning to end was just absolutely amazing. Entire staff was great starting at the greeting at the door. The wines were also amazing and our glass never got empty. Presentation and food were the best we've had while visiting Buenos Aires.

Great for Solo Travelers

Truly the best hosts for wine tasting and empanadas. I was traveling solo and it was a wonderful evening. Chef Thomas has me scheduling an empanada dinner party in the States. Many thanks!
