Itinerary

Meet your private guide in central Venice and set off to explore the city, armed with your camera. Follow your guide on a tailor-made itinerary and see the sights that interest you most as you capture the city on camera. Get to know your camera and learn how to set the aperture, shutter speed and ISO to get the best possible shots, then practice on magnificent landmarks like Rialto Bridge and Saint Mark’s Basilica.

Make the most of your photography lesson as you learn to shoot in a variety of lighting conditions. Experiment with creative camera angles, focal points and composition as you admire the city by daylight. Then, seek out Venice’s most scenic spots to watch the sunset and capture memorable snapshots of the city’s twilight hour. Finally, enjoy an introduction to night photography as you stroll along the Grand Canal and try out techniques like light painting or long exposure light streaking, to capture the illuminated city at its most atmospheric.

After an unforgettable evening, end your tour in central Venice and head back to your hotel with a camera full of memories.

Invaluable Experience for Beginner-Level Dabbler

Things didn’t go quite as planned (a nice way of saying “camera trouble”) but we made the most of it. I’m more of a hands-on learner and never knew where to start with this camera after moving up from a bridge-type from a different company, so let it languish in a drawer for years. This tour was a great opportunity to figure things out with some expert guidance, and also see some locations I might not otherwise have found. I booked this experience for the beginning of my trip and I’ve been able to use the knowledge I gained pretty much every day since.

Nighttime Photography in Venice

I loved being the only student for my Venice Night Photography class having one-on-one time with Marco for the entire 3 1/2hrs. Marco came prepared as my returned tripod was not available so we used his Fotopod miniature tripod which with my DSLR Canon camera. He taught me how to take night time photos in Manual verse AV and how to set my camera's timer in coordination with my Manual settings to achieve some spectacular nighttime photos. I was use to using my remote release timer in the past. All in all the evening was a grand success.
