Pietro is Awesome!

Who comes to Italy to raft down the Lima River!? Not us, but we discovered this tour on Viator and decided to check it out in mid-May. We are all glad we did. Our guide, Pietro, expertly guided us down category-2 rapids on a section of the Lima River. The crew consisted of Pietro, my wife, 8-year old son, and I. The rapids were fairly tame, so easy for an elementary aged kid. We were on the water for approximately an hour and a half on a sunny late spring day. The water was chilly, but the tour provides wet-suits for all, so we were able to jump out a few times to swim. Two highlights were jumping out of the boat and riding the (relatively tame) rapids down river in our wet suit and jumping off a 6 - 8m cliff into the water. Also of note, Pietro picked us up in the company van at the Bagni di Lucca train station, so you do not need a vehicle to reach the site.

I ragazzi dello staff sono eccezionali. L’esperienza è “adrenalica” ma allo stesso tempo adatta per chiunque (niente di estremo per intenderci). Unica pecca? Mancano i servizi igienici al campo dove ci si cambia. Magari nel futuro spero che verrà presa in considerazione l’idea di acquistare un Sebach chimico. Avventura super consigliata nel complesso

Purtroppo al nostro meeting point avevamo una convenzione con il bar che aveva i servizi igienici ma adesso ha chiuso e non ci rimane che...il bosco ahahah
