Antonio was an amazing tour guide. He customized the tour to us based our preferences, the time we had available, the weather and other factors. Antonio was very knowledgable about the history of the region and volcanic activity in the area; we learned so much from him about the history of Sicily, Etna and Catania as we explored the area with him. When we booked our tour, we were just looking for someone to help us get around as we were on a cruise that was stopping at the port in Catania. But we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and level of care that Antonio provided us with. Thank you so much for the unforgettable experience at Catania.

Incredible Etna experience with Antonio

An absolutely incredible morning with Antonio. Our hiking experience with him was fantastic and the views of Etna were awe-inspiring. Antonio is so knowledgable regarding Etna, its history, the surrounding flora and answered all our queries. Communication with Antonio was fantastic and I never felt during the whole process from booking up until the day of the hike that the experience was going to be anything short of incredible. My thanks to Antonio for guiding us on our tour of Etna, the craters and lava flows. Would thoroughly recommend!

This excursion was amazing and went way above my expectations. Antonio is so accommodating, and gave us such an intimate educational awesome hike avoiding the overcrowded tourist tours. We just loved the varied landscapes and learning the why. Was a hi light of or trip and so glad we chose Antonio! Highly recommend for nature lovers and hikers alike.

Etna private tour with Antonio

Antonio is a kind and enthusiastic guide, who makes sure that you have an excellent experience. He picked us up from Catania in his comfortable private car and drove us first to the Silvestri crater, explaining all the while the origins and history of the volcano. After, we walked to the Schiena dell'Asino, at an altitude of around 2000m, from where you overlook the Valley of the Ox and up to the south-east crater of Etna. The walk is perfectly fine for those with moderate fitness and sound footwear. On the way back, we spent twenty minutes or so exploring a lava tube with helmets and lights. Then, we stopped in Zafferana Etnea for a short wine and honey tasting, before arriving back in Catania early afternoon. Antonio's English is adequate and his knowledge of Etna good; even better is his knowledge of the unique flora on Etna. Moreover, Antonio is a genuinely nice person. I can recommend him and his private tour wholeheartedly.

Such an amazing day, we are so glad we went with Antonio he was such a fantastic guide and lovely person. He made the whole day outstanding, we got to see Etna in a way that really allowed us to see its true surroundings and it was so peaceful and breathtaking. We did the sunset trek which we loved. Would absolutely recommend booking this!
