Very informative walking tour of the park. Our guide Eva was so knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. She was a delight and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the amazing park.

It was a very interesting story throughout the park, and my family was very engaged with the historical details that the guide added.

Great tour

Great tour! Eva was a fantastic tour guide, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging with our 10-year old who is interested in history. Highly recommended.

Great experience.

Eva was great. Full of interesting facts and details that made the Neapolis Park come to life. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The caves were the most interesting part and the acoustics were particularly good especially when people would sing together

Worst part was your tour not sating TICKET EXCLUDED so we had to waste an hour in the hot sun buying a ticket we could have bought online ahead of time. You blew this one.

Response from Host, Sep 2024

Dear customer, we are sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with the guided tour you booked. However, we would like to clarify several incorrect points in your review: 1) In the tour description, before booking, and then again on the confirmation voucher, it is clearly stated that the entrance ticket is not included. This is because several categories of people (e.g., minors, teachers, etc.) are entitled to free or reduced tickets, which can only be obtained by presenting an ID at the ticket office. 2) The wait time at the ticket office was not 1 hour but approximately 15 minutes, during which you were already accompanied by our guide. In the time slots we recommend for the tour, there is usually less crowding, but you contacted the guide by phone at 10:30 PM the day before, requesting to change the schedule. This resulted in the tour taking place during a peak time. 3) The main loss of time was not due to the line at the ticket office but rather because our guide had to contact you multiple times by phone, as you were not at the meeting point described on the confirmation voucher. The guide had to come to a different location in the park, far from the ticket office.

Highly recommended

I would recommend this tour. Without a guide it would be difficult to appreciate and understand the site. We learnt a lot.

Great guide. Super knowledgeable.

Eva was an Excellent guide Very knowledgeable, accommodating friendly and patient Most pleased with our experience

Thanks to a very knowledgeable guide

Hearing about the history of the site from a very knowledgeable guide brought the structures to life. Otherwise, for me, it would have been just a pile of rocks.

The amphitheater is covered in summer

Jeff_R, Jul 2023
Our guide Martina was superb and was a slam dunk 5 stars - very well educated, local, and well spoken. A real pleasure. BUT - the central attraction, the Greek amphitheater, is covered with temporary wooden bleachers during the summer because they stage Greek plays there every night. That in itself is cool and the bleachers necessary, but the image advertising the tour shows the uncovered amphitheater, which is what we came to see. The tour description does not include this salient fact. There are some interesting secondary sites to view, and our guide did her best to bring those to life, but Caveat Emptor.

Great tour, even in the summer heat. Knowledgeable tour guide who answered all of our questions. If you do take the tour in the summer, bring an umbrella. You'll thank me later.

Robert B, Jun 2017
We enjoyed a 2 hour private tour 6 adults of the archaeological park in the morning, followed by lunch arranged by our excellent guide, Eva, and then a 2 hour tour of the nearby archaeological museum. The entire experience was pleasant, efficient and very informative. Eva was exactly where she said she would be at the exact appointed time. She had a deep knowledge of the archaeology and the area of Siracusa in general. I woulds strongly recommend these tours to provide a much richer understanding of the history of this fascinating area of Sicilia.

An gracious Austrian lady, Eva Maier, living in Italy was my guide. Every one of my questions was quickly answered, items on the side were pointed out to me as well, even to my surprise the living Acanthus plant leaves at my feet, often carved in marble for column tops and decorations. Historical aspects and architectural details were given which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Eva guided our tour of both the archaeological park and downtown Ortigia. She was outstanding. We absolutely and whole-heartedly recommend her! It was a wonderful experience for us. Eva is so knowledgeable, very kind, easy to talk to. She had an answer for every question. Thank you!!
