(((Please be advised, most participants, that doesn’t fall into this category, usually cannot keep up the required pace, cope with the sustained hiking on steep terrain, and regularly do not complete the adventure. After a full week of exploring Puerto Rico, my group agrees that this excursion was the best part. André takes you on a hike to some of the prettiest spots in the mountains of Puerto Rico. This is perfect for an active group that loves the outdoors and wants to explore parts of PR that aren't overrun with tourists. From swimming at the base of numerous waterfalls, challenging ourselves with a true hike, stunning views of the mountain range, and all the delicious food stops before, during, and after, this made for a perfect day in the mountains with friends. Don't even get me started on the coffee, what a great and necessary addition to the trip. You can tell from the attention to detail and all the work he's put into this hike, that he truly cares about creating an experience for others to enjoy. We could not have asked for a better guide, his instruction and positivity throughout the day made it impossible to not have the time of our lives. I genuinely cannot recommend this excursion into the mountains more. 10/10, 5 stars, and another huge thank you to André for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and for sharing this place with us.

We also were not surrounded by other tour groups which was nicr. Andre was amazing, you can see his passion and care for the space. He was also super attentive to each participant. Andre was an incredible guide. He shared his knowledge and his love of nature and the island, from coffee to the plants and waterfalls. The hike was challenging at times, but he set a pace that made it enjoyable and rewarding. What made the tour really special was how personal and intimate it felt: just us, exploring places off the beaten path, far from the crowded, cookie-cutter tours. It was the perfect way to see Puerto Ricos mountain rainforest in an authentic and memorable way. Bring water and comfortable hiking gear. An extra set of clothes to change into at the end is a must.

The local spots were delicious and the waterfalls were stunning and refreshing to swim in. Many amazing mountain views. Andre had many great stories and was attentive throughout the whole tour. Also the mangos and pineapples provided were sweet and tasted like candy.

I usually don't write review or tend to forget to do them. However, I saw I never gave one for this tour but seriously if I could give 10 stars out of 5 I would! I think this might be my first review ever, but man it deserves one! If you like to hike or simply want to experience what Puerto Rico's nature has to offer then PLEASE BOOK THIS TOUR!! If you are unsure about it. Just do it. It was a great time! Seeing the different waterfalls and learning about native plants was awesome! Not to mention our guide was so freaking AMAZING!!! The food I had on this tour was simply some of my favorite I had on the trip. Please know this is coming from someone who really researches before trips and reads lots lots and lots of reviews that to find a unique and positive experience. If you are like me just know it is everything it chops up to be.

Above 5 stars! Our family has been on a lot of tours in many countries and of course some are better than others and some truly meet the standard of 5 stars, but what make this one stand out even more is that we can’t think of anything we would even recommend they consider changing about the tour. It is truly outstanding from beginning to end with a lot of thought well thought out features and fine tuning to the itenerary. The owner of the company is also the chief tour guide and is very personally involved in making sure every customer is well taken care of. He has invested a substantial amount of his personal time in setting up the tour and even developing the trails themselves. He has an outstanding personality, but more so is authentically interested in getting to know each of his clients from the very start and catering certain aspects of the tour to the desires, abilities, and interests of the group. He is so passionate about teaching clients about the culture and has really put together a spectacular tour that is unlike the regular tour track. If you, your significant other, your company outing, or family get together are looking for an tour that teaches the history, the culture, the beauty of the country in a truly exhilarating manner that will cause powerful memories and shared joy, then this is definitely the one. Not only is is far worth the cost, it offers so much more details and extras than the larger tour companies. Plus it literally takes you off the beaten path that other tour guides aren’t even aware of. This professional guide has spent his life exploring, learning, and teaching about the rain forest area, and he also integrates part of the communities, such as a fascinating historically prominent coffee producer and then later takes you to a resturant for lunch that the locals obviously rave about at such a fair price and gives each guest a abundant variety of dishes to try so you will really feel immersed with the people, their customs, and their land. I can’t more highly recommend a tour that has made such an incredible impact on our children as well as adults in our group. I put this tour as a top must for Puerto Rico, but also put it up against top tours in Greece, Germany, France, Switzerland, Thailand, Venice, etc. The amazing things you get to see and do on this tour sells itself and make it remarkably unique in of itself. But, you will be also be very pleased with the various parts of the hike and explorations that keep building higher and higher in latitude and exuberance both literally and figuratively along the trails. Plus the treats along the way are also a huge “splash”! (No spoilers, just puns you will more fully understand once you experience it). Trust me, you don’t want to miss this and will be very thankful that you were blessed with this opportunity, and Andre’ will work even harder until he is convinced you are elated!!

This was the best experience my husband and I had in Puerto Rico. Andre was amazing. He was so personable and really spent the time getting to know each and every person on the tour. He caters the tour and the pace of it based on the group. He was so passionate about the land, and the flowers that we became incredibly passionate about it as well! We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who likes hiking and seeing some of the most beautiful sights in Puerto Rico!

The hiking on this trip was challenging but it was the most fun tour I have ever been on. The hike was incredible, as a person who likes outdoor activities like rock climbing and swimming. It was entirely secluded from people outside of our small group. The coffee and food on this tour alone made it worth the trip. Just do it!

Do not pass up on an opportunity to experience this adventure!! If I could give it 10 stars I would! Andre was the best local guide. He went above and beyond to make our day amazing. From stops at local eateries to experiencing the beauty of the Puerto Rican rainforest complete with all the views and even fresh fruits! Wonderful mountain hiking/activities day trip. Mt favorite part of my Puerto Rico vacation. Andre was an excellent tour guide. Upon arriving in the morning, there were a couple of tours meeting at the same place. Ours was by far the most personable. We had a small group and were looked after the entire day. We went further out than the other groups on an adventure with multiple stops on the way. We stopped at a beautiful bridge where we could take pictures. Next, we went to a nice coffee shop in a secluded town on the way. Great food, coffee, and animals to see while you wait for your food (save room for a huge lunch). The hiking was definitely moderate. Andre made the trail as easy as possible. Some areas were more steep than others. Multiple waterfalls on the way. Bring shoes with good grip and an extra change of clothes for after. Especially if you decide to go swimming. After hiking, you'll stop in town at a local restaurant with the most amazing view. If you plan a hiking trip, choose this one with Andre!

Do this hike! This was FANTASTIC! Andre was AMAZING. The hike was challenging, in terms of the terrain, lots of incline, mud, etc. but it isn’t intense. 3 amazing waterfalls and beautiful scenery. We were looking for a non touristy adventure in Puerto Rico and we sure found it. It is pretty much an all day event and we enjoyed every minute of it! 5 stars all around!

The tour was absolutely wonderful. The main piece that separates it from any other tour I've been on, is Andre's commitment in getting to know each one of his tour participants, and continued to make each person feel special throughout the tour. This also allowed the group to connect easily, which led to personal comradery between participants. Even though the day was wet the hike was fun and challenging. Eating pineapple and mango by a waterfall was super delicious as well. Andres brings the tajin. The hike is doable for most but be prepared to push yourself. This is not your average tour Andres makes it an experience of a life time. So if you are headed to Puerto Rico definitely get on this tour.

Hands down one of the best experiences I've had in Puerto Rico. I've lived here my whole life and it was the most connected to nature I've ever been. André is an incredible tour guide who really cares for his country and it shows. He is incredibly knowledgeable on local flora and fauna and a fearless tour guide which makes you feel very safe. Especially important when scaling mountains! If you're looking for a unique experience to connect with nature, this is it. It's not an easy hike, but André pushes you every step of the way and you really feel like a friend. This is the tour you want to take if you want to feel like you've really experienced Puerto Rico, can't recommend it enough!

Andre was a fantastic guide. On top of that, the forest was quiet and peaceful (we were the only ones on the trail, and this tour has a maximum of 10 people), the waterfalls lovely, you could swim at the base of them, the fresh fruits were delicious. It was exactly what we wanted: to see the rainforest and waterfalls while avoiding the hoards of tourists at El Yunque (this tour visits the Central Mountains, not El Yunque) and without the requirement to wear lifejackets/helmets/etc while hiking. You do not slide, cliff dive, or rope swing, but you DO climb over rocks, streams and swim at the base of several waterfalls. We visited 4 different waterfalls on our trip but this is adjusted depending on the pace of the group (and our group was slow). At the end he took us to a local restaurant with an incredible view and lunch for less than $10 each. As far as the hike itself, my mother struggled to keep up. I'm not sure I would recommend it to anyone over 60 or overweight who isn't used to hiking uphill. The first part of the climb you go up 350 to 400 feet (the equivalent of 35 to 40 flights of stairs). Then you get refreshed at the waterfall and it's smaller ups and downs from there. Although a bit challenging, Andre did a great job of adjusting the pace and keeping everyone happy. It was a wonderful tour and a lovely day in the rainforest.

This excursion was THE most memorable and amazing one while on our trip to PR--we cannot stop talking about it! Andre took us on a beautiful fun hike that was truly off the beaten path! The hike was challenging and it is amazing to see the work that Andre put into making this excursion. The tour was a small group of 10, so it was really intimate and we had so much fun getting to know everyone on the tour. The stop at the coffee shop was also really cool and we were happy to be able to support a local community coffee business. Andre was simply THE best--he was personable and made us feel like family. He took good care of us during the hike, making sure everyone was safe and having a good time. He also cut up some fresh mangoes and pineapples in the middle of the hike, which was perfection! This is a one-of-a-kind adventure and does not even compare to the "popular" El Yunque Waterfall tour. If you are between the two choices and want a real adventure hike, CHOOSE THIS ONE hands down!!

One of the Best Mistakes I Ever Made

First, let me make this perfectly clear. This is NOT an El Yunque trip. Although the national park is never mentioned in the descriptions, I mistakenly chose the trip thinking that I had found one that fit my wife and my needs. My wife wanted to do actual hiking and swim under waterfalls. My only criterion was to avoid the crowds. There was an awkward silence when we boarded the van and discovered I had signed up for a trip to the central mountains. While Andre, our guide, assured us we would enjoy the trip I looked at my wife's stiff smile and prepared for a day of penance for ruining part of our vacation. My mistake turned out to be an incredible experience! The trip turned out to be one of our best travel experiences. The hike is challenging and rewards you with beautiful views of mountain terrain, vegetation, and (to my wife's delight) multiple waterfalls with pools. Andre is a master guide who constantly monitors and adjusts the trip with breaks to ensure everyone has a great experience. He shares his knowledge of the terrain and culture without sounding like a lecture. There were only four other people besides my wife and daughter on our trip. The group quickly became acquainted and started helping each other with the climb. The structure of the trip wisely begins with a visit to a local coffee/ breakfast venue and ends with another area restaurant for lunch to prevent "hangry" travelers. This excursion is truly a great experience for those who want to avoid the crowded, tourist areas. I sincerely recommend placing this "happy accident" on your travels.

Our hiking trip with Andre was exactly what we needed to finish out our week here in PR. It was FULL of adventure, food, authentic coffee and incredible scenery. Honestly what throws this whole hike together is the tour guide he was incredibly funny and helpful throughout the entire day. The hike was perfect, I have some of the most memorable pictures and is perfect for young couples or young people who travel to PR who are looking for a lot of fun and adventure.
