Itinerary

Meet your guide and small group in the morning at your Rio Hotel (pickup available for South Zone hotels only). Board your minivan, find a comfortable seat and begin your comprehensive tour of Rio.

An ascent of Corcovado is the day's first stop.  Climb aboard a van to travel through the Tijuca Rainforest, reaching the top of Corcovado to see the Christ the Redeemer Statue, which stands 125 feet (38 meters) high. Spend 45 minutes admiring the views, taking photos, and perusing the gift shop.

Move on to the quaint neighborhood of Santa Teresa. One of the city's oldest neighborhoods, it is now a hot spot for art galleries, street art, and charming eateries. Visit the famous Selarón Steps, created by artist Jorge Selarón and featured in a Snoop Dogg music video in 2002. Spend a short time exploring on your own before heading back to your hotel or continuing to Sugar Loaf mountain (if option selected).

Back in the minivan, head for the Urca neighborhood, the departure point for your trip to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. During the 2-part ride aboard a glassed-in cable car, stop at Urca Hill (elevation 700 ft/215 m) for great views of surrounding landmarks like Guanabara Bay and the Rio-Niterói Bridge. Continue to the top of Sugar Loaf to admire 360-degree views of the city and spread out below you, including Copacabana and the Santa Cruz Fortress. Spend 45 minutes reveling in the scenery before heading back to the van for drop-off back at your hotel.

Bad Weather Refund

Jim_M, Apr 2025
When we landed (3/5/25) in Rio it was raining and very foggy so we cancelled our city tour by phone. After arriving in Rio I called your tour provider and gave him the Booking No. 1236967175 with a 4 hour notice. He agreed about the weather and said the cancellation policy is normally 24 hours but would check with management to see if he could get our $270 refunded. So far I have not seen the refund. Can you check the status? Jim Mumy (jimmumy@gmail.com)

Poor communication regarding scheduling

Gil_G, Jan 2025
I reserved, and had a ticket for a 2pm departure. The provider messaged me advising of 7:50 am pickup. I replied 2 times that this was incorrect and I have a 2pm tour. I never received a response from the provider. Upon arrival at Rio, I called the provider to coordinate pickup. They said they have no afternoon tour departure!! No one ever advised me of this! Otherwise I would have cancelled on time! Poor communication from the operator and Viator. Now I have to fight to get a refund!

Small Group Rio in a 1/2 day

Mary_K, Jan 2025
Our guide, Louis, was multi-lingual and did the tour in 3 languages - quite impressive, and he was easy to follow. I had requested a later tour, but the tour operator got back to me to explain that during the high season, starting early is better. While we had to wait on line at Christ the Redeemer, the crowds were not overwhelming. Very enjoyable tour!

Scammed

Gina_R, May 2024
I actually didn’t get to go on this tour because they never showed up to pick me up. The problems started upon booking, I had booked for a 2pm tour the following day and they then told me they didn’t actually offer - so they booked me on an 8am instead (making it non refundable, as this was now in the less than 24 range, whereas the 2pm would have been easily cancellable.) I rearranged my day to make the tour work, showed up to the pickup point and waited for over an hour. They completely ghosted me with zero response to messages through the booking platform, text or email. Stay away!!!

Too expensive for the experience

MARIORICO_F, May 2024
Guide was informative but I feel that with the amount, it should have included at least water or snacks. We finished the tour past 13:30 and they dropped us off at our hotel around 14:00. Tour was packed in the morning and I heard for those people who joined the tour for a whole day, after lunch they only had 1 more place to visit and that was it.

Dear Customer. Thanks a lot for the review. We are glad that you liked the tour. Please count on us on future trips. Thanks.

Excellent guide

celidor, Feb 2020
The spotty rain did not disturb us from seeing the important places we wanted and managed to visit. The biggest problem was the starting time. In other countries, we received an e mail from the company confirming and reminding the trip the next day with an hour Of start. Here we had no confirmation. When the original starting time, came and passed, the phone was not answered and we ended waiting for an hour. The hotel Concierge was the one who told us, your tours are always late.

Great way to see the sights

alisonrusul, Jan 2020
This was a great way to see the sights. Our guide was very informative and very friendly. It was great timing going early to beat most of the crowds and we were lucky enough to have great weather as well.

Very good tour

Aart S, Jun 2019
The van arrived in time. It had airco and a good driver. Aldo the guide was friendly and did a good job.

Mtn .to Mtn. in Rio

Harold_S, Dec 2018
Very Enjoyable tour ,able to see both Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf on the same tour as wel as a drive around Rio. The tour Guide was very good and we had shopping time at a local Craft Area.

Tour was okay but pretty hurried...

Jayne A, Sep 2017
Tour was okay but pretty hurried. The guide literally took off at a trot and left us behind at each stop. And even doing that, we missed the sunset by 10 minutes.

Superb - very competent guide...

Kerstin B, Nov 2014
Superb - very competent guide, taking care and giving a lot of good suggestions what to do and where to eat.
