I was picked up from my hotel by the tour bus and very quickly we were on our way to collect the others travelling with me. We were introduced to our driver and tour guide for the day, who I believe were Phil & Claudius though the names were said quickly so they may not be accurate. We also had a troup of ladies from the tour company who had joined us to get some publicity shots for the day. We had a good driver for the day and our guide was fantastic. He went out of his way to cater for everyone on board the bus and was only too happy to accommodate everyone’s needs to make for a special day out. We visited all the sights on the tour and had several other areas added in passing. I enjoyed learning about the Selaron Steps, the Samberdrome and the Maracana Stadium. Seeing the Metropolitan Cathedral was also great. However the highlights for me were ascending the Sugar Loaf in a cable car and going up to the Christ the Redeemer statue as these are iconic places. Both have fantastic views. Lunch was provided during the trip which provided a welcome break and a chance to recharge for the remainder of the day. Our final stop was a Photo spot where we had the opportunity to see Christ the Redeemer from another location and also get to see the sunset bringing the day nicely to an end. This was a great tour and the day was full on from the word go. Thanks to an amazing team. I would definitely recommend this tour.
