We enjoyed the day. We had a great guide. We got lucky and the clouds parted for the Redeemer. Sugar Loaf top level was in the clouds. As with all tours you are at the mercy of the weather.

Very good tour. Enjoyed the scenery and everything that we saw. Aurea was a very good tour guide, very concerned about the group and the safety. Very punctual and mindful of time. Enjoyed the buffet.

Although pickup was a bit late, we really enjoyed the tour! Marcio was our guide, and he was incredible! You get to see most of the major tourist spots in one day. Marcio went out of his way to make this a great experience! We only speak English and Marcio did a great job explaining everything in multiple languages. Definitely recommend!

Great experiencia. Great tour, to know the more iconic places of Río in a day. Our guide always was with the best attitude with the group. We went to lunch in a nice restaurant with good food. If you want to know Río in a day, this is your tour.

We waited and did not get picked up. One hour into the tour, was finally able to contact someone, who said they changed our tour for the next day. We said we are leaving tomorrow, can we meet the tour somewhere. They finally arranged for a taxi to pick us up and meet the tour in the downtown area. It was a small suv car, with some Brazilians there. There was no narration, only Portuguese, with limited English here and there. After lunch, we had to join another van to continue tour. Our tour said front of the line and no waiting. We waited hours! Overall, I was glad to have seen something of Rio.

Marcio was a very personable and friendly guide. My sisters and I learned alot about Brazilian culture and the heart of Rio de Janeiro thanks to him. This was money and time well spent.

A full day of sight seeing. All major attractions are included. The guide spoke many langues. Me and my son were the only ones that spoke English and he made sure he explained everything to us. A wonderful city to visit. Great lunch buffet with just about everything in it.

Great experience. Our tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable. They make sure to do headcount’s to ensure everyone stays in the group and is safe. Lots of time to wonder around explore as well.

Booked this City Tour to include Sambadrome, cathedral, selaron steps ,macarena and Christ the redeemer and Sugarloaf with lunch but was mis sold as only Christ the Redeemer/Sugarloaf were included and we were told it was express Tour which was cheaper and due to carnival we couldn't get this However after receiving text in the morning about the change another fellow tourist was sold the same Tour in the evening full price and told in the morning that only part could be included. This tour is a regular scam.
I have asked for a refund but they refuse

Most of the trip was missing due to carnival being on. They told us it was going to be an express trip but it took so long. The English was very uninformative due to the person being unable to speak it well.

Tour started with a delay of almost 2 hours! Tour should have started at 8:00 in the morning. Despite the fact I took a taxi to the meeting point and waited for them more than one hour and 10 minutes then we waited for other another 20 mins. so was not pickup from my place. The guide spoke poor English, only a few words. And could hardly understand what I was asking. Also he provided tons of information in Portuguese but did not translate it. Only few words. The tour was not complete I and I received no money back!!

Picking up time showed by Viator was due to be 8 AM. But the local company was waiting for me at 7:15 already without informing me prior. Almost lost the tour.
Then, we never made it to the Sugar Loaf due to long queuing this day. This tour shouldn't be taken high season between Fridays and Sundays included. Better make to half day in the morning. One to the Sugar Loaf the other one to he Christ. Was very frustrating not to make the Sugar Loaf ! Maracanã, Sambadrome and Escaleron can easily be made by taxi, on your one.

We waited at the destination to be picked up and tried to contact the Tour operator several times. All of the calls I made went to voicemail. I called Viator and was able to talk to somebody, but they would not refund my money for 72 hours it’s only been 24 hours now, but I still don’t have a refund and no correspondence regarding a refund.

I wish I had listened to the negative reviews and not booked this. The guide never picked me up, and then when I called them, they ended up sending me an Uber and not telling me where it was going, and I don’t speak Portuguese. At the second location where the Uber dropped me off (a random area of town that didn’t feel safe), the guide was not there. I had to find somewhere safe to go inside and call the guide. He then demanded i come to find the group at their first stop and was extremely rude (despite him forgetting to pick me up). He spoke no language, despite my paying for an English speaking tour. We could only communicate because I speak Spanish so we could sort of understand each other. I finally demanded he come get me because I wasn’t comfortable walking around this area with my phone out, and he came to get me and was very inappropriate and touching my arms and putting his arm around me. He then put me in another Uber again not telling me where we were going. Eventually it became clear that this company overbooked the tour (there were more than 20 people on the tour), so he threw me in Ubers to meet the group at each stop since there was no room in the van. At one point, he got in a fight with one of the Uber drivers who told him he couldn’t do that, and they were screaming at each other in Portuguese, then the Uber driver sped off with me in the back seat. The driver dropped me off in a random location and screamed at me to get out of the car. This was one of the most horrific and terrifying experience, and despite all this, viator has not returned my money. Absolutely DO NOT take this tour. Every single person on the tour wants their money back and is so upset to have wasted a day of their vacation on it. Everyone hated our guide and agreed he was horrendously inappropriate and unprofessional.

This is a scam. Don’t book with them. We payed for a whole tour around the city with lunch and we ended up only doing two places without lunch. It’s been more than a week after the tour and we haven’t had a proper response about the refund we’re supposed to get.

The first tour bus that arrived to collect us was not for our tour. The next bus - which we joined - we were with 18 non English speakers and a guide we could barely understand so little/no opportunity to mingle with others. We had booked an English tour and asked to be moved to another tour but the guide refused.
None of the sights we passed were explained to us and we had to repeatedly ask for what was being said in Spanish /Portuguese to be translated. Lunch was dreadful - a very over crowded place serving buffet of poor quality food that was not hot. Guide very off hand until the time he explained in detail, in English about tipping guides.
Contacted the tour operator to express concerns during the tour and subsequently but no response then or since other than to say 'don't know 'what happened that day', so brought the issue to the attention of Viator as the tours we booked through Viator in several other countries have been fine.

There’s something about adversity that brings people together. Our guide, Lidia, was said adversity.
Tour started late, initially cancelled on some members, and missed multiple stops. Hey, things happen, but I wouldn’t have minded if we got a halfway decent guide. Pretty funny how openly hostile she was (think angsty stepmom who doesn’t want to associate with her new kids), nearly to the point she was trying to avoid being with us. Didn’t bother to tell us about the area and its history. Didn’t/couldn’t answer questions—ask about the Brazil-Uruguay war memorial if you want her to walk away after an uncomfortably long pause. Didn’t learn much from her, but sure did from overhearing/sharing our plight to other tour guides around us. She really had it out for us 😭😂
Two stars because the driver was great and I was with an awesome group. If I didn’t squander my only day in Rio de Janeiro on this trip, the humanness of the group making the best of our collective frustration and us breaking language barriers in doing so would’ve made this a really memorable day.
BOTTOM LINE: I don’t doubt that the other guides are fantastic. But I still wouldn’t book this tour. You run the risk of landing Lidia.

I was a bit apprehensive when we began the tour because we had specified an English speaking guide, but found that we had been put in a Portuguese and Spanish group instead. While my girlfriend and I are fluent in Spanish, we’re much more comfortable with English. That being said, we really enjoyed our tour with Marcio. He was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited, and engaging with all of tour group members. He also took several group and individual pictures which he shared at the end of the day. The lunch was a standard Brazilian buffet, you just have to pay for your drinks and dessert. The van we rode in was a new Mercedes’ Sprinter. The one complaint I have about it is that since we were one of the last groups to be picked up, we had to ride completely squished in the back. I was very uncomfortable, however, the other seats looked bigger and much more comfortable. In all, I would highly recommend this experience.

O passeio era para começar às 8h e encerrar às 16h. Iniciou às 9h30 porque o guia optou por aguardar um casal que estava chegando de viagem direto do aeroporto. E se encerrou às 21h!!!! E isso porque eu disse que não fazia mais sentido, apesar de não termos ido em dois pontos previstos (sambódromo e Maracanã).
Os outros colegas de passeio atrasavam em todas as paradas e o guia não chamava a atenção, o que prejudicou o passeio.
Outro colega de passeio tossia compulsivamente durante todo o trajeto, sem máscara, dentro do microônibus e a família não se importou com os demais passageiros assim como o guia. Guia alternou a visitação dos pontos turísticos e por isso só conseguimos subir aos pés do Cristo à noite. Dessa forma, perdemos a vista de toda a natureza ao redor. Além do passeio ter sido extremamente desgastante por não ter sido observados os horários. O guia não tinha conhecimento sobre os pontos turísticos, praticamente o pagamento foi pelo transporte aos locais. Bem sabemos que as pessoas estão sem noção de comportamento, porém se o guia permite toda e qualquer aberração não há como ter um bom passeio.

Los paisajes y sitios turísticos de Rio de Janeiro son muy bonitos, lastimosamente no pudimos hacer todo el recorrido ofrecido, debido a cierres viales, la empresa quedó en hacer un reembolso por no completar el servicio con lo ofrecido (almuerzo y otros sitios a visitar), pero eso no se cumplió. Soy extranjera y no tengo cuenta en el país, pero tampoco dio una solución.
Espero que de alguna manera puedan hacer el reembolso ofrecido.
