The guide had a very strong accent and combined with a very poor PA system on the bus you could not understand what she was saying. The seating on the bus was very cramped

Good access to sites and transportation was very nice. Lots of free time but still stayed on schedule and got good info. No mic system so not a great option if you’re hard of hearing or wanted a more intense tour, talking was quite low level.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the overall experience and found the tour informative. Silvia

Kunta Hora

Roxanne_R, Mar 2026
Great day trip from Pague. Though time was a little rushed our great guide Helen made sure we got hundreds of years of history. Sights were great!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the day and appreciated the time with our guide. Silvia

Very near perfect

Jess_O, Feb 2026
I really would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Prague, the drive is long but more than worth it to see the ossuary alone, it was just a bonus that we got to see the cathedrals too. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable on the history of Kutna Hora and Prague in general, he kept everything light and entertaining without being overbearing. A couple of things to note when you are visiting that we weren't aware of: 1: you cannot take photos inside the ossuary 2: there are no free public toilets so you must make sure you bring change (20czk) The tour was incredible and really well timed so we got an even amount of time in each area and got to have an hour of free time wandering around the town of Kutna Hora and grab some lunch. I would have given this trip 5* but unfortunately the driver dampened the experience slightly, with his erratic driving (tailgating and taking corners at an uncomfortable speed)

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re very pleased to hear that you found the excursion worthwhile, enjoyed the historical sites, and appreciated the guide’s knowledge and engaging approach. We also value your practical notes, which can be helpful for future visitors. Your comments regarding the drive are noted as well. Thank you for joining the tour and for your honest review. Silvia

Long and unimpressive tour

Mark_W, Jan 2026
This is a very long tour with no time for stopping and appreciating the cathedrals etc. Tour felt very rushed. We were not warned prior that we required exact cash to use the toilets in Kutnà Hora - this become a very desperate and humiliating experience when we had to find a cash machine to withdraw cash, was then sternly spoken to by the toilet attendant for not having a smaller amount as she would not give change, then we were sternly looked at for being late back to the bus. Very awkward and embarrassing for what should be a basic human right - to use a toilet. We would have all like to wander around the magnificent St Barbara’s cathedral at our own pace to take photos, appreciate the art and history and to even just sit and pray but we were constantly hurried along and told to not wander off. There were no opportunities to purchase gifts from anywhere. The tour guide was too softly spoken and could barely be heard.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. The itinerary is structured to cover several key sites within a limited time frame, and the schedule must be respected to ensure the smooth running of the day for all participants. Facilities such as public restrooms and their payment conditions are managed locally and are outside of our direct control. We appreciate your feedback regarding pacing and communication, as it helps us review how the experience is delivered. Silvia

Great overall!

Cassandra_P, Oct 2025
The guide was great! Very accommodating with the fact that I have limited walking! She was very knowledgable! However, the driver was very grumpy. Didn’t even want to leave our bags on the bus!

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that our guide was helpful and knowledgeable. Silvia

We had the worst tour...

Kathirkamathasa_V, Sep 2025
We had the worst tour guide in Eve. She spoke in monotone the entire trip. Even the interesting facts were delivered in such a way that it felt flat. What was worse, whenever we stopped at an artifact, she would deliver her comments looking at the artifact rather than facing us. We had a hard time hearing what she was saying. She would then start walking to the next artifact and continue talking so only the two people right next to her could hear. We had a group of 18. She was also bad at giving clear instructions. She would say we will regroup in 10 minutes than providing precise time. Some people got back in 10 mins and the others were late. At the e d of the trip we lost 3 of the 18 guests and the rest of us had to wait for 40 minutes hoping they would turn up to the right spot. In the end we had to get back to Prague without these 3 people. Everyone we spoke to before this trip raved about our Kutna Hora. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience. It goes to show a bad tour guide could turn what could have been a fantastic tour to a disastrous one.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet expectations. Our guides, including Eva, are usually highly appreciated by other guests, but we understand that each group may experience things differently. Regarding the missing guests, we always encourage everyone to follow meeting points and times carefully, as we unfortunately cannot control individual delays. We do value your feedback and will use it to improve clarity and comfort for future groups. Silvia

Half day trip Katna Hara

Salvatore_C, Sep 2025
Timings where very tight. But could have been mitigated if they reduced free time and dropped off directly at sites instead if walking.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your point about the timing. However, in the city it is not possible for the bus to stop directly at every site, as traffic rules and restrictions must be respected. That is why in some cases a short walk is necessary. We appreciate your understanding and are glad you could still enjoy the tour. Silvia

Beautiful to see, but very long bus ride

Tina_D, Sep 2025
Too much driving to get there (about 3 hours- round trip on the bus. We had only 40 minutes to see the bone church, but that included our time walking to and from the bus drop off [which was about 5 to 10 minutes away.). The bone church was awesome but we would’ve liked to have had more time there. We did not have any time to visit the other church that was included nearby. They should’ve spent more time in this area before leaving to go to St Barbara Cathedral.(Which is also a beautiful church). We had almost 2 hours in this little town. The tour should’ve been divided more equally between the two locations.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your review and for sharing your impressions. We’re happy you enjoyed the Bone Church and St. Barbara’s Cathedral. The itinerary is arranged in advance to cover both main highlights within the given time, but we understand that some guests might prefer to spend more time at one location. For those who wish to focus longer on certain sights, a private tour may be a better option. We appreciate your feedback and are glad you joined us on this trip. Silvia

Patricia_D, Jul 2025
Outstanding!!! The tour guide was so passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Kiana Hora as well as Prague. She had such amazing energy. The Bone Church was quite stunning, it even made me emotional. St Barbara Cathedral was breathtakingly beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 🌟 We are thrilled that you enjoyed the tour and that it left such a strong impression on you. The Church of the Bones and the Cathedral of St. Barbara are truly exceptional places and it is wonderful to know that the passion and energy of our guide helped bring their stories to life. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you soon for another unforgettable adventure! Best regards, Silvia

Viator’s website had...

Denny_I, May 2025
Viator’s website had incorrect meeting location so I missed the tour. My refund request was denied. I will take my business elsewhere.

Response from Host, May 2025

Dear Denny. We are sorry you missed the tour. However, the meeting location on Viator is correct, and the tour departed as scheduled with other guests who arrived on time and had no issues finding us. We received your email just one minute before departure, and your phone call only came after the tour had already left. Unfortunately, this was too late to help. As per our policy and industry standards, guests are expected to arrive at least 5–10 minutes early. We understand your frustration, but we respectfully stand by our decision. Thank you for your understanding. Silvia

The bone church and Kutna...

Jamie_G, Apr 2025
The bone church and Kutna Hora are both worthy of a day trip if they bare your interest. However, you might be better served finding a different method of transport. While the tour was lovely, Kutna Hora is way too lovely of a place to just tour through without enjoying. The Bone Church is awesome, just don’t go for the photo-op since you won’t be allowed to take photos inside. This is the first of a dozen excursions I have done in Europe that didn’t quite live up to my hopes.

Kutna Hora 1/2 Day Tour From Prague

Jeffrey_K, Apr 2025
A good side trip from Prague to explore 2 other churches (if the churches you see in Prague are not enough). The bone church is chilling but it's a look/see and is over. Not much information given about that. Guide Helen was good, but was not clear how she kept track of all participants. Could have used wireless receivers as it was hard to hear the Guide at times as we walked around the sites.

Decent

Francesca_L, Mar 2025
Can’t knock the places and the scenes to be seen, absolutely stunning, tour guide and bus were pleasant enough - only issue was that it was very rush, not enough time in each spot or free time, didn’t go upstairs in most of the places nor the option to, no time to get refreshments and look in some shops, yes it’s a tour and fast paced but alot was missed in a rare opportunity for travellers.

Outside of Prague

Patrick_R, Jan 2025
This was a great way to see something outside of Plague. Our guide was great. She had so much information about the country. We learned so much.

Well if you want to just...

Mythili_B, Jan 2025
Well if you want to just book a trip with no explanation or very little then you can - expecting an awesome explanation and guide forget it . Helena kept talking about bathrooms more than the actual place . She was explaining both in Italian and English and I think in both of them it was nothing substantial unfortunately . Very little or no time given to explore . So if you want to just get transport by yourself and go see it you should - this was a waste money , the only thing is you have transportation that’s all

Ok

kathryn_r, Dec 2024
Tour guide spoke in a soft voice, did not carry a flag told us to meet at a particular place at a particular time and then left us. Did not do a head count. He dud come back for us 1/2 hour later but it was scary as we were e and a half hours out of town. Do the head count as the group is starting to walk. Also, the tall church was closed

Enjoyed the tour. Guide was very informative

Molly_S, Dec 2024
The Sedlec Ossuary and St Barbara Cathedral and the walk thru town. Views from the cathedral of the town were great.

Interesting bone church, guide not great

Karen_B, Nov 2024
The bone church was cool, but our guide, Helen, was not great. She had soooo much perfume on that a couple of us felt nauseous on the trip. One lady started coughing everytime she walked behind Helen because of the smell! (A few of us were discussing it.) Helen was also walking so quickly in certain places that we lost track of her. Then, she talked soooo long at the cathedral that we didn't have time to go up to the top to see the view. Our driver was also very unfriendly and seemed to be annoyed that he had to bring us around. He was also a few minutes late in meeting us at the pickup point. Normally I wouldn't care, but it was freezing outside, and we were all wanting to get back into the bus. I usually love Viator tours, but this one was a dud because of the two tour operators.

Amazing tour and information

Daniela_P, Oct 2024
Our guide was informative and the history of the place was amazing. Thank you Viator for our wonderful tour.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you Daniela 😊 Silvia

Wonderful trip to Kutna Hora

Dorina_B, Oct 2024
Had a great time in Kutna Hora. Our guide Suzana was very funny and nice. Learnt a lot about the history of the town. The bone church was amazing and we all had a wonderful time.

Great tour.

Harley_M, Aug 2024
The bone church. The main square. The great tour guide. The countryside along the way was beautiful.

Well worth a visit

Yva_T, Jul 2024
Good break from the centre. Pretty town. The ossuary was a unique experience and the a church was beautiful. Good tour guide.

Poor

Kelly_S, May 2024
I was disappointed in this tour.Czech was the third country we visited on this vacation. We have taken a tour each day and I have rated them all a 4 or 5. This tour was in English. Our guide had such heavily accented English and spoke so fast I could hardly understand him and English is my only language. There were many people on our trip who could understand English but it was not their first language - they would have gotten nothing from the trip. When people did ask questions he was aloof and dismissive so people stopped asking. No where on our tour did it say anything about having 1 hour to stop for lunch on our own so we ate prior. Overall not a great experience, a wasted day in Czech

Worth the Visit

jennifer_v, Apr 2024
Quite interesting to see the Bone Church. The guide was very informative. The last stop at a cafe was quite enjoyable.

Unique and worth the trip.

Reecia_C, Dec 2023
Peter was such a good guide. I saw way more than I thought I would. Love the cafe stop. The churches were beautiful and very impressive.

The Teacher from the Peanuts and the worlds smelliest bus: a hellscape

Bianca_V, Aug 2023
While the price is much cheaper than others, and convenient for the guaranteed transport, there’s a reason for that. Your transport is a sprinter van, modified with rather slim and hard seats, to sit 20-25 people. There’s very little AC, so if your tour has teens with strong BO, you’ll be choking on that stage miasma for two hours both way, as they never crack a window or turn the AC up to actually be effective. Then, once at the tour, you find it’s not just Kutna Hora, but three cathedrals, so you only get about 30-40 minutes in each place, but your guide will spend at least 25-30 proselytizing all of the religious lore. I know the point of the tour is information, but I don’t need every year it was build and every person involved, because consistently it left us with 5-8 minutes to actually look around and take pictures, because she would always lecture at us from one spot. There’s no room for dilly dallying or getting a drink, taking your own pictures styled how you’d like: it’s like a teacher expects you to move along and listen. THEN, after all of these, you get to the square of Kutna Hora about five hours in. The guide will spend so much time showing you relics you did not ask for, that you’ll be left 30 minutes to find a place to eat with a restroom, because she won’t have one nearby or point one out. But you better finish all the food, because none is allowed on the bus. It’s a cute little town, with great shops and interesting views, and you spent over an hour getting there. Time to enjoy it would’ve been nice without the droning of the unenthused guide. Then, you get back on the bus thinking, okay, we did the tour, she’ll let us sleep. There can’t possibly be more to talk about. No, she’ll continue to drown about the Prague suburbs and how the city has changed for an hour and a half, in the hot bus, stinking of BO where you choke on the stale, smelly air. The ease of transport was good and convenient, but this guide needs to shorten her spiel by about 30% to the interesting and necessary information. It’s a tour for adults, not children, and the herding around with little time to enjoy and make it your own experience is very annoying. Really, in six hours, you couldn’t find the time to stop talking, or really let people enjoy the location? Stop it. Insanely enough, she even prefaced the tour with time to drink/eat and use the restroom wasn’t guaranteed!! So if we’re bad, you just get to hold it for six hours? Please stop.

Excellent

JOANNE_B, Jul 2023
Sophie, the guide was very knowledgable and answered any questions asked. She kept a head count of the group throughout. Regarding the description from the company it wasn't clear whether you stop for food and drink or not. We did stop for food/drink in the town

Response from Host, Aug 2023

Dear Customer! Thank you very much for your kind review and nice comments, we appreciate it. Thank you Silvia

Definitely worth a visit

Jayne_Y, Mar 2023
St. Barbara's is beautiful, as is the old town part of Kutna Hora. The bone church didn't appeal to me personally, but still worth a look. We got plenty of time to look around and see a bit of the old town too. The tour guide Uli, was very helpful and informative and also gave us lots of info about the country's history on the drive there. She was keen to look after everyone which I thought was really lovely. The mini bus was very clean and comfy. A great half day trip which I highly recommend.
