It is very concerning that these guests reported to Viator that there was a “significant global force” affecting their experience, which is completely false. After fully completing and enjoying the tour, they requested a 100% refund using this invalid claim, clearly attempting to take advantage of the system. We provided Viator with clear evidence, including photos and receipts, proving that the tour was delivered in full, and Viator supported our position. As a result, this review is a reaction to the denied refund request rather than a reflection of the actual experience.
The guests received all the food included in the tour, enjoying traditional Czech dishes with their full historical context. Therefore, the statements made in this review are simply not accurate.
Additionally, our guide is a trained professional in history with over 30 five-star reviews and only one one-star review, which speaks for itself.

Julia our guide was full of interesting facts about the area and the food as well as giving us tips of other places to visit on our own - she was super nice to hang out with and it was a really enjoyable and relaxing experience for my daughter and I tasting the Czech food in prague

Julia was wonderful! Very down to earth. In addition to giving us food culture she shared information about the culture of Prague and highlights including showing us pictures and pointing out local architecture. It wasn’t just a food tour but an insight into Prague culture. The food was choices were yummy and so much to eat! You will not leave hungry, in fact we couldn’t eat everything! We had a great tour with a lovely young man Saul from Ecuador. He was very knowledgeable about Prague and our tour was on the outskirts of the main tourist area in Prague 2 and 3. We visited 2 bakeries, a local canteen restaurant and a local pub/restaurant finishing at a local bar. We sampled local sweets and dishes along with local beer and finished with a Prague shot. Overall a great tour and we visited places we would not have found or gone to on our own. Thank you Saul for a lovely evening!

We had an amazing experience with Saul. He explained each of the 5 offerings well. The locations felt very authentic with real people (not tourists). Saul was engaging, warm, and attentive. This was a perfect introduction to Prague on our first night in town.

Julia was very personable and spoke excellent English. She asked us questions about ourselves and shared cultural and personal stories about Poland, Czechia, and herself. Make sure you are hungry! Don’t worry if you don’t drink alcohol, she is very accommodating and non-judgmental.

The food was basic but plenty. Perhaps I just don't like Czech cuisine but not a vegetable in sight.
I think the worrying thing about it is we it didn't feel like we were welcomed as tourists and Saul as not Czech person wasn't welcomed. Thus made me feel on edge and felt like we should leave as soon as possible. This was the feeling in 3/5 places we went.
We thought getting off the main tourist area would be a good thing but it really wasn't.
Saul was a lovely, knowledgeable person but the food simple and the group we were with were lovely but the atmosphere in the restaurants was not.

We appreciate all feedback, although in this case we must clarify that some parts of your review are unfair and do not reflect the reality of the experience we offer. Your comment about not feeling welcomed is also not consistent with the experience of our guests nor with our long term collaboration with these restaurants. Czech hospitality is expressed differently; staff may not smile as much as in some cultures, but they are respectful, professional, and welcoming in their own way. Expecting local culture to behave exactly like one’s own can sometimes lead to misunderstandings, but this does not mean the restaurants were unwelcoming. All venues treated the group with respect, and our guide ensured a friendly and positive atmosphere throughout. For this reason, it is important to state that your perception does not match the reality observed by the guide and shared by other guests. We take all reviews seriously, and we wish you enriching and enjoyable travels in the future.

Our whole family had the most incredible time on this food tour! Saul was an outstanding guide, so knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the local culture. He made a point to connect with everyone in our group, checking in often to ensure we were all having a great time.

We were really disappointed with this food and drink tour in Prague. Unfortunately, it didn’t feel like we saw the real Prague — most of the stops were in a neighbourhood outside the main city, which wasn’t what we expected. There was far too much food and not enough drinks for what was meant to be a food and drink tour.
That said, our guide was absolutely lovely — friendly, knowledgeable, and did her best to make it enjoyable. We don’t think it was her fault at all; she was great. The tour itself just needs a rethink in terms of location and balance. Sadly, it was the weakest tour we’ve done and we wouldn’t recommend it as it is now.

This review is unfair, and we would like to explain why. The Prague Food Tasting Tour of Hidden Gems is specifically designed to show guests where locals actually eat, in authentic neighborhoods downtown outside the heavily touristic Old Town. Vinhorady, where our tour takes place, is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and authentic areas of Prague, full of local flavors and hidden gems. The tour takes place in the city center, not in the typical Old Town, which is crowded with tourists all year.
It seems there was a misunderstanding, as the guest may have been expecting classic tourist spots in the Old Town or hotel restaurants like the Hilton. This tour is intentionally designed to offer a local experience: real Prague food and neighborhoods that are less crowded and more reflective of local life.
Our guide was attentive, knowledgeable, and ensured the group had a great experience, which is reflected in our consistently high 5-star reviews.
The vast majority of our guests appreciate the hidden gem locations and the authentic culinary experiences they offer. We encourage future guests to read our other reviews to understand the unique nature of this tour — you will see why this reviewer is so mistaken.
