I am a firm believer that local food is reflective of the culture and history of a place and this food tour was exactly what I wanted! Our guide was amazing, personable and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the food a lot (the sausage was my fave) and also learned so much about Prague during our time spent. More than worth the cost and we highly recommend!

This was an excellent food tour! Julia, our guide, was super friendly and knowledgeable. She shared detailed info on the dishes we ate, how it relates to Czech culture, and also gave us a lot of local tips for our stay as well. I would do this tour again!

This activity included fives stops. Oddly as explained by our terrific hostess, Daria, tradition says to start with something sweet. Our first two stops included delightful sweet pastries. Beef and a type of bread dumplings was next with a beer or wine. Then sausage for stop four with beer or wine. The last included a shot of Becherovka, an alcoholic digestive aid(wink, wink). A very nice 3 hours with walks between each stop to aid our digestion. It are was outside the Old Town area so we were in true local Prague establishments.

Not Worth It

This tour was not worth it at all. Our guide shared little to no information about the history of Prague and didn’t speak Czech. The information that was givin regarding the foods were very basic and two comments were actually incorrect. I learned more on Google then I did from the guide. The stops were far apart, and the food was underwhelming. Overall, the guide did not enhance the experience and focused more on personal opinions than actual facts. We asked to end the tour early and skip the final stop.

Hi, thank you for your comment. We’d like to clarify a few important facts about your experience. First, we are genuinely surprised by your complaint about the walking. The additional distance walked during the tour happened specifically because you requested cranberry juice. As this is not something we offer on our tours nor something available at the restaurants we visit, the guide made an extra effort, especially considering you were the only group, with just three people, to take you to a specific shop where you could get exactly what you wanted. This was done purely to accommodate your request. For that reason, it is quite surprising and, frankly, unfair to now criticize the tour for extra walking when it was directly caused by your own request. Second, regarding the walking in general, this is the first time out of more than 100 reviews that anyone has complained about it. The distances between stops are short typically 2–3 minutes, with one slightly longer walk of around 7 minutes, and most guests actually enjoy this aspect, as it allows them to experience the neighborhood more authentically. People also love walking from place to place because it helps pace the experience, it’s actually better not to eat continuously without breaks, and the short walks make the tour more enjoyable and comfortable overall. Finally, all of our guides are knowledgeable and experienced in the history and culture of the city. They provide not only factual information but also personal insights and stories that you simply won’t find on Google or elsewhere online. This combination is something that the vast majority of our guests truly value. Given all of the above, we believe this review does not accurately reflect the experience provided. The guide made a genuine effort to accommodate your needs and deliver a personalized tour, which is why we find this feedback particularly unfair. That said, we still appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion.

This tour was excellent, our guide Dimetri created an experience to make you feel you were a local to the area. He did not hit all the tourist traps - just the opposite, we visited places where the locals go to eat authentic Czech food. Every place held a story he shared with great enthusiasm along with history of the area and how it was affected through out history. I highly recommend this tour and to prepare you ahead of time not to eat prior - you'll be full by the end of the day looking forward to a nap!

Experienced no history of Prague or food. Very lackluster. Waste of time and $200. Unfortunate. We do This type of tour often when visiting new destinations.

It is very concerning that these guests reported to Viator that there was a “significant global force” affecting their experience, which is completely false. After fully completing and enjoying the tour, they requested a 100% refund using this invalid claim, clearly attempting to take advantage of the system. We provided Viator with clear evidence, including photos and receipts, proving that the tour was delivered in full, and Viator supported our position. As a result, this review is a reaction to the denied refund request rather than a reflection of the actual experience. The guests received all the food included in the tour, enjoying traditional Czech dishes with their full historical context. Therefore, the statements made in this review are simply not accurate. Additionally, our guide is a trained professional in history with over 30 five-star reviews and only one one-star review, which speaks for itself. We encourage future guests to read our other reviews to see the consistent quality and experience we provide.

Julia was wonderful! Very down to earth. In addition to giving us food culture she shared information about the culture of Prague and highlights including showing us pictures and pointing out local architecture.
