What a great tour! We ate the traditional dishes, and our guide explained all of them and their social significance. It was also very informative about the country’s history. We heard first hand how communism affected families and social lives of people then and now. Jan is an awesome guide!
What a fun afternoon! We ate and drank our way through Prague on a beautiful fall afternoon in September. We visited some interesting spots with yummy food.
Jan Franz our tour guide took us through a history lesson of Prague. Incredible service with incredible food. He selected 4 outstanding restaurants that made the history coincide with the food. One of the best food tours I have ever taken and the best tour guide ever
This was my first food tour and now I am hooked! Our guide, Karolina, was entertaining, has a great sense of humor, and is very knowledgeable. I learned a lot, tried a lot of delicious food, and had so much fun with the rest of the group as well. Everyone was friendly which I so appreciated as a solo traveler!
Come hungry! Lots of food. Wear good walking shoes. There’s a good amount of walking but it’s broken up with several stops. Food was really good.
This excursion was worth every penny. Our Guide was Clara and she was a wealth of information about the customs, the food, the history, the drinks, and she even had several of the recipes for us.
Each place we went was unique and different and super delicious.
Definitely arrive hungry.
I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Prague.
The food was phenomenal. It was nice to meet people from other countries. Host was attentive to our needs and very knowledgeable about the local food and bar scene. The follow up email was appreciated, it gave us some options of returning to some of the places we were on the tour so we didn’t have to scout around so much for places to eat and we were assured the food would be exvellent
We hesitated to take this tour because we thought it was a bit pricey, but believe me, it was worth it! Besides providing a well spaced out variety of amazing food, our guide, John, was a wealth of information. We learned so much about the Czech culture, its history, and how the role of agriculture has changed over the years, influencing its food and drinks. This was probably the best tour that I’ve ever taken, and there have been many.
The host/guideJan was very good - chatting about life in the country both now and in the past as well as talking about the food. The food itself went from grilled cheese and ham in the pub through to a very tasty mushroom gnocchi and finished with a sophisticated cocktail. The only reason why it’s not 5 stars is that I felt that despite it being a very enjoyable evening it was extremely expensive. The next evening we ate an extremely good 3 course meal at a third of the price.

We completely understand that our tour is a significant investment. It is, however, designed as an experience rather than simply a meal: with several different stops, smaller portions of many dishes, drinks, and plenty of time with a local guide who shares not only what to eat, but where to go and what to look out for during the rest of your stay.
The price also reflects the costs of running a small, independent tour and working with several local businesses along the way. And of course, a three-course dinner and a four-hour food tour are rather different experiences, even if both involve very good food.
We’re nevertheless delighted that you had such an enjoyable evening, and thank you again for joining us.

Jan was a fantastic guide! This was the best quality of food we e ever had on a tour (and we've done a lot of them!). His knowledge of the history of Prague was personal, interesting, and very enlightening. He maneuvered us expertly throughout the city on buses & trams with no issues. THIS is the tour you want to take to learn about Prague and sample amazing food & drink from multiple areas of Prague.
Our food tour with Karolina was the perfect introduction to Prague. We were warmly welcomed and then treated to a wonderful sampler of local culture and cuisine. Each tasting was a gem and surprise that we would never find on our own. Come hungry. Youwill leave delight…and full of tasty food

Fantastic food tour. You get to try a lot of different Czech foods and drinks. Klara did an amazing job explaining everything we ate and drink, and created a friendly atmosphere throughout the tour.

We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide Klara. She was on time. She was fun. She was very knowledgeable about Prague and the food scene in Prague. We had generous portions of tasting the foods and a large variety of selections. From local Czech cuisine to trendy and more upscale choices. Yes, this food tour might be a little more pricey than others but the choices are excellent. We have been on quite a few food tours and this is a great one.

Outstanding food tour with Kiara. She shared lots of information about the country, Prague and its people. Not too much walking and we took both the subway and tram to reach some destinations. Great introduction to how to use Prague’s public transportation! Go hungry because the portions are generous and you’ll definitely want to eat everything! Excellent & unique non-alcoholic options. One of the best food tours we’ve been on because of the energetic guide and amazing food! Highly recommend.
This was an outstanding tour for many reasons: the tour guide Jan was knowledgeable, fun, and an incredible story teller who described the food, wine, and history of the country. The restaurants we went to were authentic and had great food!

Katarina, our guide, had a dynamic personality which made this tour a lot of fun. We enjoyed walking to the five restaurants for food, beer/wine and dessert. However, the price doesn’t justify the cost of this otherwise fine tour.

This food tour was a delightful way to experience Prague and its culture. Kara, our guide did an amazing job. She took us to places/restaurants where we would not have ventured on our own. I love the restaurant choices and food variety, from local pub to Michelin Star restaurant. I highly recommend this tour.
Make sure you arrive with an empty stomach! You will be full for sure. Really great tour with a nice variety of different locations, dishes, and drinks. Jan was awesome and enjoyed how he wove some personal touches into the stories and history. Make sure you ask him about how Easter is celebrated! Lots of recommendations given on local spots to go - their guide they give you is chock full of information. Highly recommend the tour and if I return in the future I would do the tour again.
Excellent food tour focused on traditional Czech cuisine. The food, itself, was fresh, tasty, and filling. We definitely felt like we were experiencing true local favorites with high quality offerings - these were not your standard tourist traps. The amount of food was filling (even for my husband who has a big appetite) though we did not feel overly stuffed or unable to finish the portions. The wine, beer, and coffee pairings were perfect. The amount of walking was less than expected for the length of the tour (maybe 2 miles total). The pace was nice, not rushed. Karolina (apologies if spelling incorrectly) was the real star of the tour, though. She was an energetic, fun and humorous, and friendly tour guide. She made everyone feel welcome and included, and really helped stimulate the “food with friends” vibe. She also gave us a wealth of information and additional history as we walked around. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Our food tour in Prague was a highlight of our visit. Karolina was a wonderful guide; friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. We sampled Czech favorites including Pilsner and Kozel beers, fried cheese, sausages, Prague ham, modern dishes at Alma with excellent wine pairings, traditional desserts at Café Slavia, and finished with a Rusalka cocktail at Forbína. A delicious, authentic, and memorable introduction to Prague’s food and culture. Highly recommended!
Karolina showed us a fantastic time. You can tell she is passionate about what she does. We sampled many traditional Czech dishes and a couple of modern ones as well. We enjoyed the tour very much and even returned to one of the stops (Lokal) the following night for dinner.
Jan was an excellent tour guide. I would highly recommend that tour for anyone who wants to get introduced to Prague's foods
We normally take food tours to orient ourselves with local offerings and key regional delights, but we had no idea we were in for a full culinary experience. Jan made it a lovely experience with his deep knowledge and outstanding engagement. The restaurant stops are very well thought out, and the portions are sizable — they aren’t kidding when they say you won’t be eating dinner after this tour.
I would highly recommend anyone spending a few days in Prague take this tour, and I highly recommend Jan in particular.
