Before the tour we understood that Le Marais had been shaped by history and wanted to know the specifics. Hugo, our guide and lifelong student of history, was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting. We walked the area and learned about the architecture, the changes caused by revolution, and the influence of certain people. The tour was well worth the time and money spent.

The Marais has a rich history making the area an interesting one to tour before grabbing a great meal or perusing the unique shops. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the French history and royal lineage making it fun, and interesting and his ability to point out the architectural items of interest that we would walk by unnoticed was amazing. Our tour of Le Marais District was enjoyable. Our guide was engaging and had a good level of information on the area. We were sad that synagogues were not in the tour even though there were some nearby. Perhaps security was an issue. A tour of this area in Paris is an important one. I appreciate the effort made by the guide and Viator to sponsor Jewish area and history tours

It was very informative and lively tour. We learned so much about the Marais District and what it went through over the centuries. It’s hard to believe a place lower than slums excited in he second half of the 29th century and and how it has become a bohemian enclave. The tour guide did an amazing job helping us to understand the plight of Jews through the centuries, not only in Paris and France, but thought Europe. Many times with think of the holocaust, but the plight of the Jewish people goes way beyond that. The suggestions for places to eat and museums to visit was extremely helpful. Well worth the price!
