Our guide Francois (Paquito) was exceptional. It felt we were walking with a longtime friend. It was a great experience. Francois is very knowledgeable of the area. Our guide was Hugo Kennedy. My wife and I would highly recommend you ask for him. Hugo is a history major from Ireland. On our current trip in France we’ve had multiple well meaning guides that we spent a good portion of the time trying to figure out what they just said. Hugo had no such French accent on English words (despite living here 10 years). And since he is a history major he was a wealth of knowledge.

Montmartre is such a beautiful area but without a guide you would miss so much. The walk is not terribly strenuous and it reveals a historic area where so many artists flourished. Our three grandchildren, ages 10-14 really learned a lot. As it was late afternoon, our seven year old had no interest in the tour so I brought her back to the air b&b so she wouldn’t ruin it for the others.

Francois V provided all of the facts (the good, the bad, and the ugly) potentially shifting your beliefs/opinions from what you thought you knew about certain subjects discussed during the tour - what a treat! Amazing place with amazing guide. Montmarte is a separate world than rest of Paris and is a must visit. So many stories & history to uncover.
