This museum is really a must-see in Milan - don't pass it up! The museum is beautiful - not just the art, but how it is displayed (lighting, frames etc.). The wood, tiles and architecture is this museum is an absolute feast for your eyes. ENJOY!!!

DaVinci comes alive.

James_W, Oct 2025
The museum has a fine collection of medieval art including a Botticelli but the display of a few of the pages from Leonardo DaVinci’s Codex is the star attraction. Original drawings from the master himself. And to top it off, A DaVinci painting as well. There are only a handful in existence making this very special.

Great display of DaVinci Sketches

Nicole_L, May 2025
It was so inspiring to see the DaVinci sketches and the presentation of them here is excellent. It may take a little time to find this museum, but it is well worth it to see these historical works.

Fantastic and interesting event

Excellent event! Interesting and enjoyable. Superb time! Great classical music. Highly recommended to everyone. Thank you.

Definetely worth a visit

Christian_M, Feb 2025
The Leonardo, the Caravaggio and a few more icons are worth the visit. Else the Leonardo display with copies and facsimile prints, apart from the one original painting, is weak, and orientation is complicated.

Beautiful and interesting

Annette_B, Sep 2024
Unexpectedly really good. I thought it might be quite nice to visit but it is better than that. The art is beautifully lit, and some of the curiosities, (such as a lock of Lucrezia Borgia's hair) are really interesting. The audio is great. It tells a story. It doesn't just spit out facts.

The museum is amazing. 100% recommended. I visited with My family and everyone enjoyed the experience.

Superior, a must see.

I can’t pinpoint only one thing that I enjoyed. The entire museum is worth seeing. Dante’s writings were an extra bonus.

Must visit in Milan

Amazing artworks, strongly recommend you hire the iPad self-guided tour. It’s fantastic even setting a guide based on how much time you have. The Da Vinci exhibition is brilliant.

Excellent gallery and museum. You cannot miss this in Milan. Some wonderful painting by the masters plus artefacts and sculptures. The highlight is the Codex Atlantic’s from Leonardo. Highly recommend.

Tremendous!

James_M, Jul 2023
The items of the Codex Atlanticus that are available for viewing are simply beyond description! Take your time, they are worth the wait, viewed last in the library [which in itself is tremendous].

See DaVinci's drawings!

Self-guided tour...really enjoyed seeing DaVinci's drawings. They are displayed with Italian and English explanations. A little gem of a museum.

The headsets were not helpful. We couldn’t find codex initially. When you exit the building, you have to walk around to building and get to the entrance to retrieve your backpack. Inconvenient

Amazing

Irma_Y, May 2023
Very enjoyable activity if you love art history. The most impressive was the collection of Leonardo's drawings. My husband and I took our time there and spent about 3 hours enjoying it all! We highly recommend this.

Denise_J, Feb 2020
All that was in the exhibition was great, but there was so little of Da Vinci’s on display. I thought there was going to be more.

Pinacoteca Ambrosiana; a gem

Light on DaVinci, but the rest of the collection is a must see when in Milan. Highlight is the panels by Breugel.

The Codex Atlanticus is marvelous but its worth only to see the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana. The Sacristia Del Bramante is expensive and very quick, not worth it!

' A THRILL We were fascinated by da VINCI'S mind and abundant works . Plus the Bramante and the Pinacoteca were perfect settings and wonderous themselves.

Stan W, May 2015
Had hoped for more. Viator made it seem like it included the Last Supper-which it didn't. Still worthwhile especially if you're looking to beat the heat or the rain. Disappointing in that it is all in Italian-not a word of English, so buy the audio accompanier. Allow 2-3 hrs.
