Overview

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Le Morne, with this group hike along the Brabant Slave Route in Mauritius. Hear stories of the enslaved people who marooned here, and learn what eventually led to the abolishment of slavery. Hike for around three to four hours along the rugged mountain, and be prepared for some steep sections near the top. It’s worth it for the views, so keep your cameras handy.

Hydration - A minumum of 1,5 liters of Water - per person. 3. Insect repellant - Mosquito spray / Bug spray / Allergy Medications. 4. Snacks - Energy bars, Gels, Chews, Trail mix. 5. Camera or Binoculars.

The meeting point is not where we start the hike, once all the participants have arrived, clients will have to follow the guide in their own vehicle to the starting point of the hike (about 6 km further away, at the foot of the Morne Brabant mountain)
