Overview

Try to spot the pink pigeon and echo parakeet in the wilds of the Ebony Forest Reserve on this bird watching tour in Mauritius. Great tour with knowledgeable guide.

Fantastic trip with some wonderful views and great birdlife. Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable. We started with a litlle talk about the evolution of Mauritius, explaining how the island was formed and about the endemic species on the island. We saw the work the Forest Reserve are doing to re-establish endangered birds and then walked around the forest. It's not for the 'unfit' as we did about 5 miles - mostly it seemed uphill! Flycatchers were abundant and very curious. Other wildlife included Geckos, bugs and snails. Great views at the final stop. We would do the trip again without question.

Splendid day. A 6 k walk specially designed for bird watchers. Absolutely stunning with board walks going high up in the canopies. Did see 5 out of seven endemic species and one should never expect to see more than 1 or 2 during a 4 our walk. Knowledgable young guide with lots of stuff to share. I also thought the little resting points cool.

Very good. Walked 6 km. The guide explained about plants, butterflies, birds. Don’t TaKe the Jeep but walk both ways. Good, information museum and film.

Fascinante experiencia !!! Damián el guía transmite entusiasmo por la naturaleza y especialmente por las aves y la botánica !!! Empezamos avistando un cernicalo de Mauricio toda una rareza ornitologica , al salir de una mágica explicación en el museo del lugar y llevarnos a la época del dodo y cuando lo normal era que la isla estuviera llena de ébano, vimos tortugas, avistó el difícil fósil de Mauricio y el menos difícil fodi de Madagascar, alucinamos cuando nos buscó con toda su paciencia el antiojitos , la ruta preciosa llena de miradores a Le Morne y su magnífica laguna o como decía Damián gratas sorpresas. Se preocupó de buscarnos geckos y cuando llegamos al mirador sublime point nos deleitó con un suculento apetitivo acompañado de bebida . Nos dio más tiempo en la excursión y el momento mágico con los flycather los tuvimos casi en las manos como los anteojitos!!! Y para terminar más tortugas de Aldabra y una paloma rosada !!! Tour muy dinámico y exigente físicamente. Muy recomendable el tour porque mantiene el equilibrio entre lo físico, la naturaleza y la fauna, fue fascinante !!! Agradecer a Damián su sensibilidad con las personas y la fauna !!!
