Your day of sightseeing in Southwest Mauritius begins with pickup at you lodging. Board a comfortable tour vehicle with your guide and tour group, then set off for your first stop, Floreal. Visit some handcraft workshops, a great place to pick up souvenirs from your trip and see what types of crafts and handmade goods are made on the island.
Continue to Trou aux Cerf, a massive volcanic crater that measures 656 feet (200m) across and 279 feet (85m) deep. From the edge of the crater, you can see panoramic views of Mare aux Vacoas, Rose Hill and Cureipipe.
Visit Grand Bassin, home to a Hindu Temple and a surrounding sacred lake. This temple is the destination of the Maha Shivaretr, a yearly pilgrimage. Depart for Black River Gorges Natural Park, where you'll visit the Alexandra Fall and get views over the southern portion of the island. From Glack River Gorges Waterfall, snap photos of views over western Mauritius.

The tou rguide lacked knowledge about the tour
Very inexperienced.
His driving was very good
He hardly explained anything about the tour / sights we visited .
Seemed liked he was only the driver not a guide for us

Great tour guide who accompanied us at every site and was full of information! He took us to visit extra sites on the way, and was always pointing things out along the way. He even brought bananas and knew where to find the monkeys

Nice air conditioned vehicle with Wifi and our driver Dhiren was very knowledgeable about the history of Mauritius. Dhiren also explained each site on the tour and came with us to answer any questions we might have. Also had a great lunch at a local restaurant. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Our tour guide Nevash was outstanding and an ambassador for Mauritius. We had a fabulous day, and saw everything we wanted and more. Dhiren was fantastic with communication, and everything went 1000% to plan, from Port pickup to the included lunch thru drop off. Exceeded our expectations in every respect. Highly recommended tour! Deeran was an amazing guide filled with expert knowledge of the country. He was polite, respectful and enthusiastic. The day started at 8:30am and was packed with sites and activities. Thankfully, the vehicle was air-conditioned and comfortable. We were provided a snack and lunch. Excellent trip , highly recommend.
Thank you to Vikesh for being such a friendly, knowledgable and helpful tour guide. Nothing was too much trouble and he was so interesting to talk to, without it feeling like we had to make conversation. This was a fantastic tour, we saw so much in one day.
Loveded all the sites
Rashis was late 30mins as he parked in the parking lot and didn't come into hotel to tell us he arrived. We had to call him to find out where he was. He spoke softly in the car even though we asked him to speak up so we didn't understand. He didn't get out and go into any of the sites with us to explain as all other guides did. He simply napped in the car. He was just a driver and very disappointed with him. Jealous of all the other tours with their great guides
What a beautiful island! Our day was perfect. Blue skies and breathtaking views. The views from the crater were wonderful from all directions. Wonderful pictures of seven sands. Our guide Ashley was the best. We learned so much in one day and saw the Temple, model ship craftspeople at work and then rum tasting and lunch and.....Never felt rushed.

We were very lucky to be the only 2 persons for an 8 person guided tour. Our driver. In the sense we didn't have to wait for other. He was on time, friendly, courtesy and explained all the sites we saw. I believe our driver was Deo (something along that name).

We had a perfectly nice trip, taking in the tried and tested sights in the South of the island. Chamarel waterfall and the view from the Black River Gorges National Park were particular highlights. The driver was very personable and friendly and the car was comfortable.
However, there were a few elements that I think could be improved or more clear. Firstly, I think we were expecting more of a guide than just a driver and were left to our own devices at each stop, meaning I don't feel we learned as much about each place as we would have liked. No fault of the driver, just something that could have been clearer and there were clearly other tours being conducted with driver/guides.
Secondly, our hotel was already in the south west so the decision to drive all the way up to the centre of the island (and initially stop at some diamond shop) seemed unnecessary and meant a long drive just to come back down to where we initially were to see the best sites - in future, tailoring the trip based on the guests location might be better rather than rigidly sticking to the route.
Due to the reasons above I think the tour was overpriced and could have included less stops.
Simply superb - our excellent guide Vikesh tailored our tour exactly to our interests. He was well informed, and engaging - a pleasure and really interesting day
I do not think this experience was worth USD 105 per person. It was quite basic. The guide was fine and the transportation too but just feel like the sights and tours did not warrant such a high fee. The lunch at a random roadside restaurant was not very nice at all. Assume the local tour agents charge way less.
Very nice tour of south west part of Mauritius. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and food. Kid friendly driver and guide.
While this tour took us to all the major sites I was expecting more than a glorified grand prix racing taxi service. When I book a tour I expect the driver to get out of the car and explain things instead of just telling us where he will meet us when we are done looking at something.

Great guide, thank you Ashley. Lots of variation on this trip from forests to waterfalls to Hindu temples & delicious rum tasting. Lunch was special too.
